Still Waiting… Movie Trailer

still waiting

Did you know: Lionsgate made a sequel to the 2005 film Waiting…? You know, the restaurant comedy (ala Clerks) that starred Ryan Reynold, Anna Faris, and Justin Long? Well Lionsgate released a direct-to-dvd sequel this week which stars none of the aforementioned actors. Like most of these cash-grab dvd-sequels, Still Waiting… probably isn’t worth your time. The comments on the IMDb message board range from “Horrible” to “just incredibly average” to “The best part of the movie was the rap at the credits”. The film is directed by Producer Jeff Balis, who some might remember from the Project Greenlight tv series (if I remember correctly, he was the guy who almost got fired on the set of Stolen Summer by Producer Chris Moore). /Film reader Jon-Anthony N sent over trailer, which is embedded after the jump.

Horrible. The first movie wasn't that great imo, but this one is just down right looking bad. Just look at all those other direct-to-dvd movies ala American Pie.
  • filmkid
oh my god this is very bad i love the first movie but this looks bad
  • That is one of the worst photoshopped posters I've ever seen...
  • It was awful. The movie tries to promote a new Ryan Reynolds character that is only twice swarmy with about 1/10th of the charm. John Michael Higgins shouldn't slum this bad for a paycheck. In the end, the best part is probably a running joke called 'sour cream sanchez' (which you can probably guess what that entails without even bating your eyes) and the end rap even though Andy Milonakis stopped being funny years ago.
  • JollyRiot
Andy Milonakis was funny? The thirty-something that looks like he's fifteen because of some disease, who raps about food and picks on old people in the park? Sounded so great on paper, can't believe it turned out so bad.
On that note, I thought Tom Green was funny.

    Sour cream Sanchez! OLE!!!
    aahahha that was hilarious

This one was better than the first.
  • dman
that was great... what about the vagina game though. i call this one the clitar. fucking pricless.
  • MCA
Wasn't the original a writer-director struggle to make style affair, very much more ala Clerks than just in its content? But in colour and with more people etc?
If so should the guy who created the first one not have had some form or control to stop this? Or you think he signed it all away to get the first made?
Unless he needed the pay check too maybe....

    Shame on you Luis Guzman...
  • JonJon
he freakin' wrote this garbage excuse for a sequel. its exactly the point i made to a friend. it would be like smith making a direct-to-dvd sequel to clerks 3 years after its release.
  • I had the misfortune of watching this movie... check out the review at moviefail dot com
  • I wasn't a particularly large fan of the first film, and it was a decent watch with friends on a friday night with a few beers in-toe, but 'Still Waiting' just looks terrible, and thanks to Mick's comment above, I think I will give it a miss.
  • It pains me to say, but the original with Dane Cook was 1000% times better. Justin Long may not be a PC, but he will whore himself out to anything else that is paying. I didn't laugh once.
  • I've never even heard of "Waiting."
  • This is just f*cking depressing. Waiting was a stinking pile of turd that didn't even warrant a direct-to-dvd sequel. Pah!
  • i saw the movie didnt think it was as great as the first but it wasnt completely horrible either, and justin long makes a cameo
  • It dont seems to be good, and i never heard about "Waiting".
  • I saw a trailer for this film when I went to see Friday the 13th....

    What's up with that?

"I wanna F her in the A and then C all over her T's"

So it appears this movie is just blatantly stealing jokes from Stephen Lynch
  • JollyRiot
I'm a fan of Stephen Lynch and I can't remember any reference to his songs by saying that. Maybe it was an older one I've forgotten. If anything, it reminds me of the old Opie & Anthony show, when they'd use just that kind of speak ("Didja TF her?"). But really, who the hell did that first, and does it matter in the least?
  • Mighty KC
    It's from "F your Sister"
    -"Stop using letters!"
  • JollyRiot
I guess I didn't hear the right version of the song. I bought the album years ago that features that song and I remember none of that. He adds or changes words sometimes, I still think it's a terrible argument.
  • Re-tar-ded.
  • MCA
    He did?
Wow and I was assuming that him needing the money and then just hoping no one saw it was a worse case scenario.
It can't have worked out too well for the guy.
  • Byron
i watched this online last night. It was awful. I kept thinking, "when does the funny stuff start" and "wow, how could the first one actually be BETTER than THIS?" However, the chick who plays Alex on Lost is in this, and that, is awesome.

Wonder what idiot thought of making a sequel to a crappy movie. Perhaps the same people who did [Blank] Movie?
  • people who buy/rent direct-to-dvd sequels that feature (nearly) zilch of the original cast deserve to have their money taken from them.

I just wish they were handing their hard earned dollars over to me, and not the bastards that make these films.
  • dman
Almost all the orginal cast is in this one. if there not a main character they make appearance. check it our b4 u jump to conculsions
  • an appearance hardly counts for squat.

and who gives a shit if the smaller characters come back....they're not really what people enjoyed about the movie in the first place. if the main characters don't come back, it's just not the same movie.
  • looks like a useless excuse for a movie...
  • Seth
The first one was very funny.
  • I agree. The first one was funny. This is not.
  • YallDOUCHEBAGS
I just watched it, its actually good, and fuck every idiots here who judge movies before they even watch them. fuck all of you. and no need to reply to me because i am not writing my real name nor my real email and i will not be notified for your hatred OR love comments and I will NOT look back to this page ever again.
  • Mighty KC
You're still a loser, whether you come back to read this or not.
  • dman
thought the first waiting was decent and much like everyone else i thought o great a direct 2 dvd sequel. turns out though this one is actually as funny as the first if not funnier. everyone from waiting minus andrew reynolds and that blonde bitch ( i can never remember her name) all make a appearance, from the old manager, to the black conseling cook, and even dean. funny funny funny. listening to deans oxycotin internet porn rant was just hilarious! i would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the first waiting. great flick for a nothing 2 due day.enjoy
  • liki
the movie was depresing i felt sorry for the cast and us watching.
