X-Men Origins: Wolverine TV Spot 2 -”Brothers”

wolverine brothers
20th Century Fox aired the second of three announced 60-second television sports for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. You can watch the first titled “Outcasts” , which aired during Family Guy at this link. The second spot which premiered tonight during House, is titled “Brothers”. The story begins after the first clip, where Wolverine and his kid brother run away from home and find themselves at War. The third spot will air on on Tuesday (February 17th) during American Idol. I have a feeling that the third spot is going to ruin some of the film’s climax… I could be wrong. Watch “X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Brothers” after the jump.

    no video lol

100x improvement over last night......hopefully the movie's intro scenes are little longer than what we saw on Sunday
  • Id actually want the least amount of intro as wolverine as a child as possible
  • Chris
I've tried to remain optimistic about this movie, even after yesterday's somewhat disappointing trailer. But, seeing this one makes me think we're in for a pretty crappy movie.
  • What was wrong with the latest TV spot?
  • nigsinmybutt
Oh fuck yes. But wait. What the hell? Sabretooth and Wolverine are NOT related...
  • wait...Sabertooth and Logan were brothers?
  • not in the literal sense.
  • Brian from OR
There was a hinted in the Origin mini-series that the character Dog was Sabertooth. Even through Dog has claw marks across his face and Sabertooth does not. Dog's father was Wolverine's actual father. And they portrayed it pretty close to the comic. The only difference was there was no Rose in this movie.
  • leo
sabertooth is the gardener's son and friends were very

appeared in the comic but a girl who falls logan (james)

logan is the name of Pope saber-tooth

i´m from mexico and I am sorry for not writing very good English but I am a big fan of the movie
    & slashfilm too
  • brett
yeah....not brothers....why do these guys think they can just play with the story, thats what brett ratner did = bad movie.
  • yeah. this was better, but still not great.

when is the release date for origins? i'm interested as to what its competition will be that weekend.
  • Chris K.
I'm surprised at the amount of people so far that are taking that brothers line so literally. Hah.

Still looks good to me, I love the roar/scream at the very end there.
  • Taco
I'm still very skeptical about this movie. And yes, the title should just be "Wolverine." I mean, it's like calling The Dark Knight, "Batman Sequel: The Dark Knight." You don't need to label the damn film title.
  • Well they're hoping to make a whole series of Origins movies.
    The next being Magneto.
  • Palmer
Looks pretty good. But there is no way in hell am I going to watch American Idol to see the last clip. I shall await for the wonders of the internet!
  • I agree. Better than the first, but still pretty mediocre. WTH are they doing with Wolverine's origins in the movie?
  • the fight between sabretooth and logan loots pretty epic.
  • Sonofabeeatch
you can complain all you want, but you'll all be sitting in the theaters opening day to watch this. who cares, its a wolverine movie. we should be happy they even made one! what were you expecting a 'schindlers list" worthy story or acting. come on. its a movie about a guy with knifes that shoot out his fists and can heal himself. stop taking this so seriously.
  • Brice Gilbert
Trailer kind of spoils a moment that couldn't been very emotional and cool, but simply based on the fact that they spoiled it probably didn't play that well anyways. Despite that I love the epicness of it. A person that lives that long is such an awesome concept you see used so little. I wonder how much of the war stuff we will see?
  • From that last TV spot, it looks like we're going to get alot of war scenes.
  • They keep getting better and better. I hope the last one will be great.
  • The release date is May 1st. Nothing good comes out the same weekend but the next is Star Trek and the weekend after we get Angels & Demons. If it's still doing good after those two, it's definitely going down to either Terminator Salvation or Night at the Museum 2 three weeks after the initial release.
  • Kevin
    I agree with Sonofabeeatch.

All of you guys bitch and moan over this, but come opening day, we'll all be in the theater anticipating it. Guilty pleasure or not, it's Wolverine.
  • Hell yes.
    I agree 100%.
Just do me a favor, everyone, and bitch and moan AFTER you see it. I won't mind how much you complain then, because I'm sure once I've seen it I'll be having the same complaints. But wait.
  • gah
not amazing, but much better than the last one.
  • i don't know that star trek will dominate Origins, regardless of the reviews that either film gets.

As excited as many /film readers seem about star trek, i'd say the excitement level for Angels & Demons is probably a few notches lower. I'd guess that origins has a decent 3 week run.

they better up the ante on their marketing though. the first two minute clips have not been too impressive.
  • The war scenes look like they could be great.

Id like to see Wolverine fighting more ppl than sabretooth tho
  • I have liked the last two TV spots and hope the third will be just as good or better. I think that Fox does need to do something for their marketing because May isn't that far away.

It should have close to a 100M the first weekend, the next it should get around 25 to 40M the second weekend depending on how good the new Star Trek does. I'm thinking it's going to do good. by the third weekend, it might fall short of the top spot to Angels & Demons. I'm not really waiting to see any of these movies but I know alot of other people are. I agree with you though that it should have a strong showing for the first 3 weeks.
  • David
I think that looks badass. My guess is the brothers comment is meant metaphorically. If I sound condescending, I apologize, but...well, I don't think many of the commenters considered that an option.
  • I don't see why some people have a problem with the kid version of Wolverine? We were all young and innocent at one point.
  • Deadpool, what a Legend....
Im ready to see him in his own Movie
  • Fir3Wolf
Good thing I saw this during the filmcast. It wasn't the best trailer I've seen for this movie and sure doesn't compare to the Watchmen tv spot either imo.
  • filmkid
i told people that these guys going to be brothers and now its confirm
  • Leo
and now, the tv spot it's gone

    Shame on you fox
  • optimusprime
    where is the video
  • This video is still up for now:

  • Hmm it'll be interesting if they really are brothers by blood. By itneresting I mean silly and lame. I don't remember in the Origin comic if they implied Wolvie and SB had the same dad - Logan the gardener. Too bad they've eliminated Rose from the story, as she was a nice link to why Wolvie had an attraction to Jean Grey.
Regardless of that stuff they covered so much Weapon X background in the X-Men movies, so I don't get why they are going for more here... just to show Deadpool and Silver Fox etc.?
And why have they not dropped the Origins title? Everyone knows who Wolverine is, he's right up their with Batman, Superman and Spider-man. Oh wait it is Fox...
  • Does this movie have Professor X I like when he does mind-reading and it makes that sound that goes ZAP! and then the person whose mind was read is like "get out of my brain mister."
  • Branden
I think this movie is going to suck major balls.
  • I agree about losing that personal moment.
But even in the first trailer they showed Wolvie holding whats-her-face (I actually don't know the woman's name) and it says something about having to live through others' deaths or something.
So you kinda knew right away that that girl was gonna end up dying.
But I still agree, it probably could have been left out.
I just hope that means that she's not a very integral part of the movie.

Here's a site that has the video for those that missed it before it was deleted.
  • whothewhatthe?
Why in God's name would Fox take the video down? What's the point? Don't they want to promote this thing? What do they stand to lose? Fucking corporate morons.
  • Chris
Has anyone found a new spot?
  • I did, but my comment was deleted.
I don't think we're allowed to post links to other sites.
Maybe if I just tell you to look on traileraddict they won't delete this.
  • Oh wait, nevermind. It's up now.
  • The spot looks really good.
