Not that this devastator aint bad loooking but, correct me if I'm wrong. Long Haul is the Main body that formed the original Devastator

Demolisher is a part of devastator.
  • birdlog
Devastator will be named Demolisher in TF2009 since the name Devastator was already used for Brawl's character in TF2007
  • I'm definitely getting devastator
  • dubya
dude I hope optimus doesnt die at the end, then we have rodimus who killed the original cartoon series.....

Definetly an improvement over the toys released for the first movie, these actually look close to their on screen counterparts
  • Palmer
Well, all I know is Devastator looks better than the movie version of Cobra Commander.

i bet this is the most thought that has ever gone into a michael bay film :)

I didn't buy any of the toys from the first film however I did pick up Takara's Masterpiece Optimus Prime with Trailer (Convoy) and Megatron. I still haven't picked up their Starscream yet... However after seeing what Hasbro has to offer here, my wallet will probably be a lot lighter when these toys hit the shelves. I think I'll get a Prime, Bumblebee, Soundwave and that Devastator. Devastator looks to be the shit! This movie is going to rock. Bay promised more robots and that's what he delivered...

i still dont care for the new devastator look.maybe i'll change my mind when i see him on screen cause those toys does non of them justice.maybe cause im from the old school.if i saw these for the first time maybe i would like them more..and whats up with soundwave?i know they gota bring him up to times but..a sword?thats not even a musical instrument..unless when swung he emits a sound blast..but still,i liked the idea of him being a boom box and ejecting laser beak and ravage!! and those 'twins'..guess they're not identical huh.
  • i want the devastator toy. that looks like a real fun project there!
  • 100 dollars. eek.
  • OK, I've inspected Devastator closely and figured where each Destructicon fits when combined to become the monster, and I just gotta assume poor Scavenger got a raw deal. It looks like he forms part of Devastator's CROTCH...
  • Not just you. It looks like transform from wimpy cars into piles of scrap metal.
  • mark v
im not sure how a sword transformer would work in the film so im gonna assume for now its just appearing as a toy, like the optimus that turns into a gun

cos if its gonna transform to a sword, itd be able to cut through other transformers or its redundant, if it can cut through them then its made of a better material, then why arent all the other transformers made of the same material

also the big dude looks way too clunky to fit in with the other designs of the films so far, but thats jsut my opinion

    k thats my 2 cents
  • source please

  • I'm not really liking devastator's design but maybe it'll look good in motion. I wonder what the autobots have in comparison because they sure as hell aren't gonna beat him with the "twins."
  • Stu Willis
    Unicron.

That'll be the OMFG moment at the end of the movie.
  • Darrin
dude i know when i see this film, there will be some robot that was never shown in the tralers and will blow our minds away
  • well, of course. they're not going to spoil the whole thing in the trailers.
  • it's not just you
  • Is it just me, or do those twins looks stupid?
  • hmmm

that's kinda the whole point of devastator
  • Shit Devastator looks mighty big!
  • cat
devastator is pretty sweet. i thought the decepticon that was in the first movie was part of him but i guess he died.

i love how they keep revealing information as they go along.

slashfilm should have forums. that would be great.
  • Ryan
Do you guys remember how some early photos of the film had that pink ice cream truck and it was hypothesized to be the twins combined? Is that not the case? Anyone know? I though it was a cool idea.
  • I was just going to ask the same question. I wonder if maybe thats the twins in the beginning of the movie and they get new forms, kinda like how Bumblebee changed car styles, later in the movie. Or maybe that was just a regular ice cream, who knows.

I'd look to see the Constructicons in their robot mode.

But to be honest, Devastator looks like crap :(

  • no no, Soundwave will transform in to a ghetto blaster (as a throw back to the 80's) and pump out "Domo Arigato Mister Roboto" by Styx as Devastator destroys L.A. XD
  • Is devastator going to pick up soundwave and swing him around?
  • devastator looks cool, except for the green head, maybe in the film it will look cool though.

i still have the original devastator and that was a bitch to put together when i was a kid too.

i can't wait to see him in the film though, i remember in the animated film when he featured and the character Cup looked scared and when Hot Rod shouted "Look!!" all cup could say was "Devastator" CLASSIC
  • yah hope the glowing green head doesnt look dumb.

cant wait to see the scale of him in the movie tho it should make up for it
  • what is the msrp on these? peter....?
  • skipper
    Devastator will be $99
  • Brian from OR
I was so happy when they announced that Soundwave was going to be in the movie. Out of all the Decepticons he was my favorite. Im wondering what his 2nd transformation is going to be, since he is not a satellite the whole movie.
  • Richard
Wow I bet that Devastator is a fucking bitch to get together.

    Still looks cool though!
  • i had the old-school devestator construction robots. i'm not sure if that's waht it was called back then, but they combined very simply using a peg and hole system.

if you look closely, the connections at the joints look like they'll probably use the same/similar link system.

the hardest part would probably be setting up the pieces and getting them ready to connect.

Damn. transformers were the shit growing up.
  • I bet, I remember having some Transformer toys back in the day that if you were to try to "transform" the character and moved some of the pieces the wrong way, you would get a useless toy that was broken.
