Transformers 2: Devastator and Fallen Revealed

ACToys has gotten their hands on images of some of the most anticipated character’s from Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Ever since it was rumored that Devastator would be in the film, fans have been clamoring to see what he might look at. When the Super Bowl teaser trailer hit and showed Optimus Prime being swung like a rag doll from just one of the huge contructicons that makes up this monster of a transformer, it got every-one’s attention. Concept art for the completed Devastator has been discovered online, and the character appears to be made out of 7 different constructicon vehicles. We’re going to keep the image after the jump as some people might want to be surprised at how the character looks in full transformation.

Also, a couple days back we posted photos of the toy for the film’s main villain, the title character — The Fallen. Well ACToys also has better concept art showing this Decepticon in full light. Check it out after the jump.  Thanks to /Film readers Richard B, Melvin O, and Cole C for the tip.

  • OMG !!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT !!!!!!!!!! THATS FUCKING AWSOME !
  • Robochicken
My thoughts exactly mate, THE BAYMEISTER DEMANDED IT TO BE AWESOME AND IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME!
  • REAL6
Damn man, they both look fucking whack!!! When was Devastator a drill and 7 robots?

Raping your childhood since 1965 -Michael Gay
  • It's to be expected since the movies done away with the boxy stature of the icons to make way for a more realistically fake look.
  • obin
"when was devestator a drill and 7 robots?" ?

what? are you kidding? please tell me your kidding!
  • REAL6
Do i look like a clown or comedian???
  • obin
nah, I would say more like a jester or buffoon ;)
  • REAL6
Ok, then tell me your version to see whos the buffoon...
  • obin
*sigh* okay, to answer the original question: Devestator has always been compiled by other small ("small" as in relatively speaking lol) construction vehicles.
I just took for granted that everyone knew that, apparently I was wrong :)
  • REAL6
hehehehe. Everyone makes mistakes. Im just an old G1 head so nobody bust my ass. Just certain things i would have done different to the movie you know :(

I'll still see movie in the theatre but you know what i mean...
  • ben
dude y would anyone care what you would do differently to a movie that you know nothing about.. Thats like me saying I have never seen any of the star wars films but for the next one i wouldn't put in the guy with the big black helmet that breathes funny.
  • REAL6
We already know by what we've seen. Thats like saying Why is the sky blue, why is water wet...

But like i said, Raping your childhood since 1965...
  • Prime Cut
Bay! Stop lubricating on people's childhood!
  • Max
Does it look like The Fallen is standing on top of a pyramid? Me thinks it does!
  • I didn't even notice that, thanks for opening my eyes to that.
  • Does The Fallen look a little bit organic? Me thinks so.
  • ajt
I was thinking that he kinda looked like General Grievous from SW Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Someone should photoshop some lightsabers in his hands.
  • Jean Valjean
    HR Giger's Transformers...
  • Looks cool, very cool....dumb question but, wasn't 'Devastator' already a tank in the first one? Same transformer? Dif transformer same name?
  • Ryan
Are you thinking of Brawl? That was a Decepticon tank in the first one.
  • Mag
Who's the Red glowing Robot Megatron ? I hope he's a tank or Gun
  • skippy
he transforms into a mighty DENTIST CHAIR!
  • Wait...so The Fallen aren't the fallen robots but an actual character? My mind is blown.
  • henry
They screwed up on the name Devastator in the first film. The original devastator was indeed 6 robots combined.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devastator_(Transfor...

See the bottom for the screw up in the naming.
  • let's roll
Maybe they can bring George Lucas over with his alien timewarp ideas and fix it all. Little whip cracking, little jedi mind trick and everything will be better. So long as we hide in a lead fridge while they work it over.
  • PLZ RESPOND on this ! It says that the movie will be darker, is that means that it will be dark in the movie or it will be dark, like no comedy and that stuff.
  • Goldfoot
I'm sure there's still comedy in it. But considering the odds against the Autobots, I'd say it's a pretty bleak outlook. Hence the "darker" comment.
  • skippy
no, Michael Bay is simply not using any lights while filming to make the film literally "dark"
  • On the plus side, no shaky cam.
  • Goldfoot
No, there was a Devastator in the movie. According to Wikipedia the character was supposed to be named Brawl, but in the movie it says, "Devastator reporting."
  • Goldfoot
On the screen I mean. I remember reading that on the screen.
  • dlb
I just double checked. the tank was indeed called Devastator. Continuity errors and Michael Bay? that seems unlikely
  • Goldfoot
Heh, nahhhhh. I don't care though, I'm amped for this movie. I just find it very unlikely that with such a huge bot that the Autobots can win. I'm sure they'll prevail, though.
  • Maybe they'll clear that up for us in this movie.
  • The Fallen looks a lot like Lego's Bionicle line.
  • He kind of reminds me of Carnage from Spiderman. Which is funny because Megatron is kind of like Venom in comparison, all bluish tones and bulky in comparison to the red and skinny frame of "The Fallen"
  • Alpha Trion
Sure to get the Oscar this time,(Golden Compass LMAO) as long as we still have Michael Bay's AWESOME character development, 20 camera using, seizure inducing can't tell whats going on shaky cam, fast cut editing, emphatic tight close ups, helicopter in the sunset, extremely nauseating, repulsive, over the top product placement, and slow motion over dramatic explosions.
  • The One-Upper
Oh yeah? I'd like to see you do better!
  • The Upper One
Give me $200 million and a camera. I'll give you the most awesome stop motion transformers movie Ebay can buy. I'm thinking original toys out of the box and lots of gasoline and black cats. The local junior college arts department needs the experience.
  • Wait, so a dude named "The Upper One" responds to another dude named "The One-Upper".

    Smells fishy...
  • Looking at the face of the Fallen, it looks like he (it) was the inspiration for the Decepticon logo - which makes sense, I guess. Also, there's a pic on the message board - http://tinyurl.com/azwf9x - that seems to confirm Megatron IS in the picture (he's on the right) and he look's pretty tank like to me.

I agree with Goldfoot - this will be a darker film that will almost certainly end with OP getting an ass kicking and probably 'dead' before returning in a 3rd film. The plot point of him combining with Jetfire (an SR-71 Blackbird) might throw this off a bit.

    Either way - Bay-tastic.
  • I would judge OP to be about the height of one of Devastator's claws on his left arm....from the trailer, OP was about a 3rd of the height of the Constructicon, so I'm guessing he'll be pretty dwarfed by the whole thing
  • optimusprime
The both look great, especially The Fallen. The only that is weird to me is Devastator's head. I'm sure he will better in the big screen.
  • jason B
this is a much better look at what the fallen will be like. and no matter what is shown or released, bay will NEVER get an honest response on the internet. the majority of folks seem unable to allow themselves to even have fun at his films anymore - so fuck em, i'll enjoy every minute of this movie.

and i got a really really bad feeling about Prime's fate.
  • So what does this mean? Are the autobots going to come together and make a big robot too? I'm not that big into Transformers, I just used to watch the cartoon when I was a child.

I guess they could bring back that cube thing and blow a whole through it's chest to defeat it. Man that was lame.
  • Yeah, the six / seven individual Constructicons combine to form a super-robot called 'Devastator'. If you squint, you can see the bucket of an excavator on his right arm, the treads of another vehicle on his foot etc. I think there's a crane on his arm too.

I think I recall that OP and a new Autobot called Jetfire (who's hiding as an SR-71 in a museum) will combine to fight the big bad. Not sure how Megatron fits into the picture, as I'm pretty sure that's him in the trailer punching Optimus Prime into next week.

I think the Cube is long gone, thank Christ.

OP and Jetfire (who - if they stick to 'canon' - is a Decepticon who switches allegience to the Autobots) combine to fight Devastator, if I recall correctly.

I don't know how Megatron ends up coming back, but I think that The Fallen is essentially a Deception 'god' who was worshipped by the Egyptians - probably as Anubis and so can resurrect Megatron. This gives you a nice twist on the Revenge of the Fallen title.
  • DocHop
If you look in the background of the photo you can see the vehicles that make him up!
  • And I think it is safe to assume the obligatory after credits sequence will be a Unicron hint.
  • Is that an inspired guess, or based on some insider tip? My thought for a post credit tease was a 'dead' OP showing a sign of life or undergoing a transformation into a new form...as Megatron appears to have done. Perhaps the hint of an Autobot 'god'?
