One More Reason to See Watchmen: New Star Trek Trailer

If you didn’t need more of a reason to see Watchmen on March 6th, you have one more. Paramount Pictures announced today that a third Star Trek movie trailer will hit theaters on March 6th. We put two and two together and got four, which can only mean that the Trek trailer will be playing in front of select prints of the Zack Snyder comic book adaptation. The trailer is expected to feature a bunch of new footage not shown in the teaser trailer, movie trailer or Super Bowl tv spot. Nothing could make us more excited for March 6th.

  • I'm going to be there no matter what - I just REALLY hope everything meets expectations. Which may be near impossible for Watchmen but here's to hoping.
  • Sorry, but not even a Star Trek trailer will get me in a Watchmen seat. Actually, a Star Trek trailer wouldn't get me in any seat, so... his was just a cool excuse to bash on Watchmen a little.
  • Oh, ye of little faith.
  • Oh sweet victory!
  • nice stuff..
  • Actually Peter in addition to all that, they'll also be handing out copies of the original cut of the Star Wars Trilogy on Blu-ray, Pixar and Marvel will screen their next Three movies, and Eliza Dushku and/or Felicia Day will be on standby for those who can't find dates. Just to sweeten the geek deal that much more.
  • Meh, the lack of any such information over the last few months bar spots here and there which were pointless or de-interesting has seen my anticipation for this film decline faster than Chris Brown's career so come March the 6th I won't be rushing into the cinema to catch this trailer. If I see it, I see it.
  • Good's points I guess, great Chris Brown reference, But I agree with you, I won't be seeing this film just to see this trailer. However, I will eventually watch Watchmen so I will eventually watch this trailer.
  • I wonder if anyone would really just sit through the trailer and leave before Watchmen starts.
  • For some reason I think one individual might do that. I don't see why someone would buy a movie ticket and not watch the movie, I mean they can get the trailer eventually on the internet. I however, will not do that.
  • Oh, I have faith. I know it will do well and will be everything any fan of it wants to be. But I was never fan and any interest I DID have has been saturated to death everywhere I look so I've reached a point where I am unfortunately resenting it. And I'm not alone.

Needless to say, I will be peeing little puddles of glee if or when this turns out a dud. Which it won't. See my problem?
  • yeah i hate when people like things that i like too
  • Stop reading film news sites then?
  • Why would I stop reading film news sites for the sake of one film bugging me? Despite it all, I love all the film coverage I find here. It just so happens that for every piece of interesting film news there are 3 detailed reports on Watchmen costumes, soundtracks, featurette videos, cameos, angles, scenes, tickets, on and on and on... and why not? It IS going to be a huge movie... isn't it?
  • yeah. that's what came to mind for me. I really haven't seen too many promos for Watchmen, outside of this site. Anything that happens concerning the movie is covered on /film.

I see the book on all the front stands at my bookstore, and trailers attached to other feature films, but that's about it. I haven't seen TV commercials yet (maybe this is just me?), and i don't see the posters anywhere i live (socal).
  • I can see what you mean. We've been beat over the head with Watchmen related news and promos (esp. here at /film), so I understand your feeling of saturation. I actually knew very little about Watchmen until all the movie hype started, then I was curious to find out why people were pissing themselves silly with each new announcement. So I picked up a copy and was blown away. The graphic novel really is fantastic, the best I've ever read. So what can I say? if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
  • i dont really need anymore reasons to see this movie, but i'll take this :]
  • Palmer
I've been told many times of certain trailers attached to certain movies....and when time came to see those certain movies, no trailer...none, zilch. I mean there was the standard fare of trailers, but not the one I was told about!
  • It maight be better dan "Batman & Robin"!
  • I put 2 and 2 together, and got 22. Damn you, math!
  • 790
Let's hope they take out the annoying kid and faux robo-cop opening.

What's your name? "I'm James Tiberous Kirk". Plaaaaeeeeas,,,,,!!!
    That scene is laughable.
  • Biggles12
I can't wate to see this film but I just don't want it getting too much exposure...like Superman Returns.
  • I'll be seeing it on the 7th instead of the 6th...but I'll still be there! I'll watch the Watchmen! :)
  • starscream9289
Like I need another reason to watch this movie =D
  • i didn't need another reason but ok, i'll bite!
  • yeah. i could care less about star trek.
  • Funnily enough i think you will! This star trek looks very much like Star Trek was mixed in with MTV...their appealing to the younger audiences now! Cause they know that fanboys will go see it regardless
  • I think its a little to late for that
