To celebrate the recent release of Groundhog Day on Blu-Ray, /Filmcast co-hosts David Chen, Devindra Hardawar, and special guest Stephen Tobolowsky (AKA Ned Ryerson) put together this feature-length commentary for the film. During this commentary, the trio discuss the making of Groundhog Day, its deleted scenes and alternately conceived versions, its legacy, its impact on Stephen’s career, their favorite parts from the film, and the disturbing tale of one man’s missing foreskin. If you have the DVD of Groundhog Day or if you have access to Netflix Watch Instantly, just listen to the audio file for instructions on how to sync it with your copy of the film.

  • I'm eagerly awaiting February 2. I'm one of those rare people who don't find this holiday insipid. My appreciation for it derives from a combination of my love for folklore and my hatred for winter....

    You see, for the winter-weary, February 2 is an important day: it is the midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. As such, it is a milepost of significant psychological import on the arduous journey from winter to spring.

    it was kinda cool to hear some of the back-story on the movie but it wasn't as fun as the step up commentary. Steven is a great guy, unfortunately i wish he talked to you guys more rather than just about every nuance of the movie. This was a cool change of pace though.
  • Sounds great, looking forward to it, but it would be cool if you focused on doing bad movies and mocking them, not that a real commentary on a good movie every now and again would be a bad thing, by any means.

    Words can't express my full excitement! The Step Up 2 The Streets commentary was fun, but doing a commentary for a legitimately good (no, make that GREAT) film with one of it's funniest stars?!? /Filmcast = GOD.
