X-Men Origins: Wolverine Poster Unleashed

20th Century Fox released a new teaser poster for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The release of the new teaser poster was spurred when a thumbnail of a fan made fake from February 2008 somehow made its way onto the official 20th Century Fox press site (as of this posting, it is still on the press site). Check out the full poster after the jump.

Hugh Jackman reprises the role that made him a superstar - as the fierce fighting machine who possesses amazing healing powers, retractable claws and a primal fury. Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine’s epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe whose appearances in the film series have long been anticipated.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine hits theaters on May 1st 2009.

  • i like it. simple and eye catching
  • That poster looks amazing. I can't wait for the movie. I love reading X-Men and Wolverine is a very intriguing character, unlike Spiderman *yawn*
  • I can't remember my past! I'm so dark! I growl and never shave my beard!
  • And i call everybody "bub".
  • wow those two comments are way better than the whole xmen series... i keed i keed.... i loved xmen
  • Fingers look like little stubs.
  • Thats how he got his other nickname.
    Stumpy.
  • filmkid
thats not his fingers its his knuckles he has his hands as a fist thats why u think its a stub
  • Dan
    Yawn.
  • 1may2009
Cool. Seriously, can't wait for this movie.
  • I want that as my wallpaper. Is there a higher res. version out there??
  • Ok poster, looks photo shopped. I hoped that this will be good, but I don't think it looks very good. Wolverine fighting the blob in a boxing match and Wolverine killing a helicopter, it just looked stupid in the trailer.
  • I think Wolverine's flipping us the bird...
  • Dvq
i keep thinking about this movie as the cheesiest POS ever, hope they prove me i was wrong.
  • DeadByDawn
Ugh wolvie was 5'4 not 6 something and why no costume?I would be excited in '92-93 but I dunno.
  • Haven't we seen this poster before?
  • starscream9289
    It's about damn time.
  • optimusprime
    great teaser poster. agree cbails.
  • The One Two
Gambit yo. This shit better be tight.
  • Nice...
  • I like to see a Deadpool poster even if it isn't his movie.
  • Yeah. I already made a comment about how similar this looks to the X-Men 3 poster... but it was deleted. Why the hell was my comment deleted?
  • Brilliant poster! It says everything that needs to be said...the date and those 3 spikes!
  • As someone who has never seen an Xmen film or read an Xmen comic, this poster is lost on me... and I'm the audience they should be trying to usher in, because those in the know are going regardless. Luckily, the kickass teaser trailer backs this up somewhat, but if you haven't seen the trailer, there isn't much to entice here.
  • I agree, this could easily just be one of a set from X3 when that came out. Although, I'm not sure the trailer is any more convincing when it comes to seeing the movie, so maybe they should just leave it at that.
  • I know, it just looks odd, like bad photoshop
  • Joe
Argh, I knew Hollywood refuses to put "men" on the poster because it supposedly disinterests women, but they used this exact same pose for X3.
  • I like the poster, sure its simple, but Wolverine doesn't need flash he just needs to look bad ass.
  • If the fanmade poster is better than the "genuine" theatrical poster is it really "fake" or just grand Wolverine representation? The truest form of the characters should be what makes it authentic not who was on the payroll.
  • simply awesome!
  • Disinterested
    Ahhhh! It's X-Men 3 all over again!
  • Palmer
This observation has been made before but I'm still going to say that it's just too similar to the last X-Men movie poster. But if they showed all of him then it might have looked like the poster for X2. Too bad they didn't try a modern take from one of the comic book covers of Wolverine even if it would probably look corny.

here's my problem: wolverine/logan is hands down an r-rated character. his best stories are vicious as all hell. for the love of money they have turned their back on this fact and we have only glimpsed his true potential in the assault on xavier's mansion in x2. i'm really pulling for this film, but i'm honestly only expecting it to be slightly better than x3 - mainly because of hood's direction.

you want something to rival TDK? give logan a film faithful to his history.
  • his claws make a "W" ...i get it!
  • Awesome looking poster.. This film is going to make so much money.
  • you must be tired.. Get some sleep
  • I think the one he sent ain't it cool looks better. They should make that one the official poster.
  • i think the point where the knives come out of the skin does look kinda fake. but having said that, the poster is still pretty awesome.
  • This looks like the X-men 3 poster.
