Crank 2 and Outlander Movie Posters

Latino Review has a first look at the teaser poster for Crank 2: High Voltage (pictured right), which is a variation on the original Crank teaser poster (pictured left). Click on the poster above to see the image in regular resolution.

A few months back Outlander was gaining momentum in online circles, but The Weinstein Co will have none of that and has decided to bury the film with a late-January limited release — which is basically the kiss of death. And the best their marketing team could come up with is to sell the possible cult b-sci-fi/action action film with the face of Jesus, and nothing more. How are possible ticket-buyers to know that it’s a film about vikings who team with a human alien to take on an alien creature crash to earth? Watch the trailer here. Check out the new poster after the jump.

Plot Synopsis: As an age old battle rages amongst the stars, Kainan’s ship burns brightly as it crashes into the Nordic coast. As his space craft comes to rest in the fjords of ancient Norway, it’s with dismay that Kainan realizes that he wasn’t the only survivor. A second passenger, a Moorwen also emerges from the wreckage. A Fierce and animal-like creature, the Moorwen is intent on causing harm to those it perceives have wronged it. As the Moorwen kills everything in its path, Kainan must work together with the Vikings to destroy the beast before it destroys them all. Starring James Caviezel, Sophia Myles, Jack Huston, John Hurt, and Ron Perlman.

Guys, the 2 for 'Crank 2' is in his hand sign. The first poster on the left is just showing the poster from Crank 1 for comparison.

    Looks very cool anyway!
  • tobor68
that's some beautiful Trajan Pro right there.
  • I love Cranks since of humor. And as for the Outlander... Amazing concept for a film.
  • The CRANK posters are the worst posters for a feature film ever. God help us. I would have taken 100 floating heads over that crap
  • You changed your picture. And no, you wouldn't.
  • Meh the Crank posters arent as good as the posters for the 1st one.

    James Caviezel - Jim Caveziel
Typing error? Or am I missing something.
  • Crank 2 is def badass after the trailer they showed, looks so much fun, poster is pretty cool too...Outlander sounds okay, but idk, might see it if I was bored...
  • Your comment on Outlander? I said the same think about TDK.
  • yeah, I'd go catch it on a Sunday matinee showing
  • oh man....i'm so looking forward to outlander. too bad it's a limited release. keeping my fingers crossed for the blu ray, though. at least that will come to us pretty quick.
  • i totally forgot about outlander until i checked the list of release dates on IGN.
talk about fifteen minutes of fame, hopefully the movie wont be total shite.

I am excited to see Outlander, if its really good I will buy the BD disk, Jim Caviezal is a quality actor and I would love to see him play Green Lantern aka (Hal Jordon) I think that would be just awesome.

Anyway, I cant wait to get my hands on Outlander!
  • berram
Best casting call I've seen for Green Lantern. Do it!
  • How has The Weinstein Company not gone out of business yet?
  • matthew
Man, with a premise like that this movie has the potential of taking on the type of buzz Snakes on a Plane had among geek circles: it's so cool, even though you know it'll suck you want to see it anyway. Just for laughs and the small chance that it MIGHT BE pretty fucking amazing. Here's all they need to advertise:

    OUTLANDER
tagline: Vikings do battle with an alien monster.
    (picture of vikings fighting alien)
  • The first Crank 2 poster doesn't even have a "2" on it.... how are stupid people going to be able to tell the difference?
  • He's got two fingers up.
  • Umm. No. That's the Second Crank 2 poster. I said the first Crank 2 poster.
  • exorcissy72
The first poster is the original Crank teaser poster.
  • And that makes sense
  • Crank poster is stupid I LOVE IT !
  • edc
outlander looks like the shit, where crank 2 just looks like shit.
  • Crank looks like a nice movie to take the girlfriend to see....

I love how they re-used the teaser poster for the first one,,,just it will be taking it a bit to far if its the same as the final poster
  • Knowing what the movie is about, I still like the poster - but I agree that general audiences will be somewhat confused.
  • Simple, and too the point. Both posters show how it should be done, with no intricate messages involved that require you to painstakingly analyse what the poster says or what it represents, but simply the name of the movie and the actors/actresses involved in the production.
  • Crank 2 and Outlander look awesome. I'm sure they won't be perfect but I've got nothing better to do, lol.
  • Conor
I got to see Outlander while travelling through Malaysia. It's not that great to be honest. Some of the action sequences are well directed and enjoyable, but overall the story is dreadful (vikings and alien vs. dragon sounds like a cool idea, but it's poorly done). Although it's worth it for Ron Pearlman's excellent performance though!
  • Crank: High Voltage the action-packed sequel to 2006’s Crank movie.

This Jason Statham starrer too is expected to smash box-office records just like its predecessor.
  • Once this deadline is over, I'm going to suggest a celebratory mag-and-friends outing to see Crank 2: High Voltage.
