During her acceptance speech during tonight’s Golden Globes, Tina Fey made some time to tell some of her harsh “internet critics” to “suck it.” The bit was pretty funny (you must watch it here).

“If you ever start to feel too good about yourself, they have this thing called the Internet! You can find a lot of people there who don’t like you! I’d like to address some of them now! BabsonLacrosse, you can suck it. DianeFan, you can suck it. Cougar-Letter, you can really suck it ’cause you’ve been after me all year. And to my husband, Jeff, I love you. Thank you very much!”

Well apparently Gawker did some research and found out that those “anonymous internet critics” Fey mentioned on stage, believe it or not — those users are actual posters on the LA Times’ Envelope Awards website.

Dianefan posted in September:

“I think there are lots of choices other than Tina. Megan Mullally, Sarah Silverman, Teri Hatcher, Shannon Doherty. Not everyone has to think that Tina Fey is the be all and end all… I simply think all of those actresses have some spunk in them that could work.”

And as it turns out, Dianefan is also one of the two other internet users Fey mentioned. Apparently she sometimes also goes under the name Cougar-letter. Here are the angry comments Cougar-letter posted about Fey in the October-December months:

“Tina Fey would be a dreadful host. That Sarah Palin bit is getting very old.” … “Tina Fey was simply like the pimple on my face - just there …. I think that the key issue here is the fact that when Tina is at her best, she’s just not that great.” … “I just hope they give the win to anyone but Tina Fey. Boy I can’t wait until Edie Falco comes back on the scene just to wipe that smug look off Tina’s face.”

So what does dianefan/cougar-letter think of Fey’s mention of her on the nationally broadcast award show? Dianefan (yes, she changed her name back yet again) ungratefully commented on the boards:

“I’m famous. She mentioned BabsonLacrosse too. Sorry Tina Fey but I still don’t think you deserved to win.”

Somewhat baffling, the third user Fey attacked, “BabsonLacrosse“, actually appears to be a fan of Fey. She once commented that “Fey and Christina Applegate are the 2 best comedic actresses on TV right now.” And this is one of the many reasons we love Tina Fey.

  • The speech was quite funny. I never actually thought that the angry commenters she mentioned were fake.
  • i wasn't surprised. Many people out there tend to hate female celebrities more than male ones. people are always talking shit on tina fey, diablo cody, angelina jolie, and pretty much every famous female out there.
  • I also think it's very weird that people still do that. I guess it's because the industry must have been a man's territory and women are rising, I have no idea really. I would especially like to know why people hate on Diablo Cody. I think that most of the stuff she has come out with is pretty good.

I've never heard any complaints of about Angelina Jolie though.
  • well, I mean there are people out there who are obsessed with attacking Jolie because of the whole split with Brad and Jennifer Aniston... yeah, some people are really lame and need to get a life.
  • Yeah people be hating. People only talk about other people to draw attention away from themselves.
  • Get a room you two. And Angelina Jolie is a wierdo. But that's not sexist because I honestly believe she has a penis. So there.
  • Get a room you two. And Angelina Jolie is a wierdo. But that's not sexist because I honestly believe she has a penner. So there.
  • I am not a fan of hers. Never have been. Some day others will realize.
  • Realize what? That you aren't a fan? Clarify, please.
  • Yes. Because ONE DAY the GreenMalice will be mentioned at an awards show. Just wait.
  • Captain Molotov
Amen. That's why I love her. Those three reasons right there.

I cracked up at the "suck it" bit last night. That win was well-deserved; she's one of the more talented women in the business and easily the funniest, I think. Congrats to her on a good year.
  • heh the Mickey Rourke speech was the greatest!!!
  • Really? I don't think so.
  • him thanking his dogs was great. The only true speech of the night.
  • The only celebrities I find it acceptable to talk crap are spoiled whores like Paris Hilton and her skanky friends.
  • The only reason Tina Fey is famous is because of Sarah Palin. If it wasn't for the accomplished politician, no one would know who Fey is.
  • She's one of my role models =)
  • The real Sarah Palin should be a role model; she's been elected to office, she's served her community much more than most people, she has a great family, and she is one of the FEW people to run for V.P. as a female. Since you're so concerned about people making fun of female actresses, you should be supportive of one of the few females to run for the White House.

I see broomsticks are the common denominator. I know how Fey uses hers. How do you use yours? Got vaseline?
  • It's hard to be critical of people that take action vs. those that type in a home with the LCD screen lighting the room. Props.
  • I just have to say that I really like the show 30 Rock and am happy hey swept last nights Golden Globes. They are really deserving in it and hope that they will be around for awhile. Oh and Tina Fey looked very gorgeous last night. I just thought I would put that out there.
  • Shut up Scarface, you're not that funny and the fact a rich person is telling a poor person to suck it is a dick move. Who cares if a person with less money then you if criticizing you for you crappy show. But that's just me as it seems everyone else loves old Scarface here.
  • get over it.
  • wtf are u talking about. And she must be pretty funny if she has her own shown and has won heaps of awards.
  • onetreehillfan
Tina is absolutely amazing :) If I were her I would have probably done the same. She looked so pretty last night, I love her! She definitely deserved it.
  • dianefan
    DANG!
  • I wonder if Tina is the person behind all three of those online identities...

That seems like something she'd do.
  • This is better than Kate Winslet's second speech which, I'm sorry, was ridiculous.
  • The more and more i hear this speech the better it gets. There will always be haters.
  • Quite sad that these internet posters that dont like Fey or anyone else for that matter are made famous because they dont deserve fame and they have no right to comment on celebrities since they are nobodys.
Fey is a funny woman, If you dont like her thats fine but why be nasty about her.
  • INS
umm, she must of just watched Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

    stupid
  • Aesir
Until you learn that the word "of" is not a verb, you really have no right calling anyone stupid.
  • I'm not a fan of Fey, but I thought her acceptance speech was funny.
  • Well congratulations.
  • wow that is fucking awesome. i love that woman
  • i second that
  • I LOVE HER MORE!!!!!!
  • Tam
She's not famous. She's infamous. Theres a difference. Who in hell would want to be inamous? YOu would have to be stupid
  • DianaFan isn't famous. Shoutouts don't equal fame. She can still suck it.
  • Nevertheless, it didn't stop me from buyin the dianefan.com, and the cougarletter.com URLs!
  • Tina Fey is one of the best female comedians today, she deserves her spotlight. Definitely a hard worker and really cares for what she does.

    Fuck the haters.
  • Hear, hear
  • CORRECTION: She's a comedienne. I know she's a little manish, but let's not be mean here.
  • feyhater
    Tina fey sucks balls
  • asianrage
Werd! 30 Rock wouldn't be so awesomely funny without her. All the haters can definitely go suck it!
  • Excellent way to stick it to the people that dont like you. Well done Tina, she really deserved it.
  • it made me so proud!!!
  • I'm going to start insulting every celebrity possible from now on. Eventually I'll get mentioned and I can be famous too.
  • Can we start with Heath Ledger?
  • Ignotus
But then you definitely won't get a shout-out.
