at least we know why there are no accents now...going to see it this weekend.
  • We always knew why... because Tom Cruise can't do the accent!
  • K-man
    "Must miss!"

    Great movie.
Im definitely looking foward to Cruise and Charlize Theron in The Tourist next year.
  • you´re joking right?
  • It wasn't very good. This story should have stayed as a History Channel special, not a feature film. The ressurection of Tom Cruise, this was not. He should stick to really out of the box roles like he did in Tropic Thunder. The mean deserves awards for that role.
  • Tom Cruise's lightsaber technique was miles better than his acting in Valkyrie.

Well, it's a little too late to do that now.
  • it was...ok?

im not sure at this point
  • Awesome, I'm going to go see it again.
  • It dosent work with the english accents. Leastwise be speaking German with German accents. I have to keep looking at the swastika to be reminded what team they're on.

Mr captain off Titanic can act...cant say the same for Tom Cruise though
  • jerry seinfeld
it doesn't help that singer decided to remove the swastika armband and replace it with a small medal on the uniform.
  • i hate tom cruise
    tom cruise is so dreamy.
  • contradictator
Do you dream of killing him?
  • Wait a second ... was that really Tom Cruise talking german at the beginning?
  • I'm sure that was after hours and hours of pre-recording rehearsal with a Nazi-like German dialect coach :D
  • Best film of the month!

accents don't bother me at all. I mean Sean Connery didn't do a darn thing in Hunt For Red October. Not the best movie ever, but a solid popcorn flick. I enjoyed it.
  • They did this as a marketing tactic? To get people to see the movie? This scene does nothing for me. It didn't create any suspense. It didn't give me that "oooh, what happens next" feeling. In sum, I could care less.
  • I don't know that deserves awards for Tropic Thunder, but it was certainly a fresh role for Cruise, who normally takes roles like the hero of a historical drama . . . like here . . . again. Cruise needs to diversify a bit. He's proven he can act, no one really thinks of him a the kid from Risky Business anymore. Now he should try something different like smaller character roles, something more unexpected and challenging. I guess some people just can't get out of the spotlight.
  • It's actually not that bad.
  • steve mackaloy
The beginning ambient sounds seems to be directly from the opening of the the Fifth Element. I will not be going to see this as I vehemently oppose Scientology and as a result Tom Cruise. I vote with my wallet.
  • I'm not going to watch that since I'm going to be seeing this in a few minutes.
  • nice transition between german & english ! ...god this IS laughable !
  • asianrage
I wanna see it, but don't have time to. I don't care about any of the accent stuff as long as the story is interesting. I mean, does it really matter that (in Gladiator) Commodus spoke with an American accent while his father, Julius Caesar carried an English accent?

You guys just bitch about this crap just because it's a Tom Cruise movie. Does it matter really? Big Meh! to you all.
  • Ben
I seriously cannot take it seriously with the American accent. It has nothing to do with Tom Cruise being Tom Cruise, it has to do with SEEING Tom Cruise and not seeing Claus von Stauffenberg.

And to asianrage, at least he sounded almost British, he didn't sound like a full blown American.
  • nelson
maybe because its 6min. dumb ass
  • A coworker of mine saw this film and said it was pretty good. I still have my doubts about Cruise.
