Transformers 2 Teaser Poster Unleashed

Turns out that auction on eBay was legit after all. Dreamworks has released the new teaser poster for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on Yahoo movies.

I’m pretty sure the face on the poster is Jetfire, who (possible spoiler warning) appears in the new movie as a SR-71 Blackbird who was abandoned by the Decepticons, and is ressurected by the Autobots. Could Jetfire be the “Fallen” in the title? So far everything has pointed to the flaming baddy from the Transformers comic books. What do you think?

Michael Bay has commented on the new poster on his website, taking a small swing at Terminator Salvation:

“Okay it’s time to turn up the heat on Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen. We’ve waited low in the weeds letting all the summer movies get their stuff out. We’ve seen the great year end movies, and watched the upcoming clips of the upcoming summer fare. We’ve seen certain movies coming out even try to duplicate Transformer size robots in their ads. Please, come on. Well, I promise you we will rock your world with Transformers 2. The fans wanted ROBOTS KICKING ASS - well we got it. Today we are releasing the teaser poster and soon the onslaught will continue with a steady drum beat until June 26th.”

  • Um..... Im scared but Im not scared ... WE WANT TRAILER!!!
  • Yeah all we need next is the trailer then i can wait my ass till june
  • Brad
Don't know why everyone seemed to hate the first one.
  • Eggfou
It's Megatron. Pics of the toy have snuck out and for this movie he will be a cybertronia tank instead of a jet. When in tank mode, his head is positioned down low between his tank treads.
  • Ill Will
I think that looks pretty cool.
  • What are the changes we'll get two movies about robots this summer. Fine with me!!
  • ben
i thought the main villian was Galvatron in this movie...
  • Bad. ASS.
  • what no megan fox?
  • I would imagine that figure on the poster is the Fallen... no?
  • I would imagine that the figure on the poster is the Fallen... no?
  • I really want the "Fallen" in the title to be The Fallen. It will be awesome if Bay puts some of the Mythos is this film to really go crazy for the third film. Maybe Unicron will be in number three.
  • Palmer
When I see that poster I think of Metalocalypse, not Transformers. Also Megatron is dead, he died a pretty lame death, but he's still not coming back.
  • He will be back, Michael Bay has even hinted at it several times.
  • Does anyone else notice that he sorta resembles a real life version of the decepticon symbol?
  • Brian from OR
Whoever the Character is there head is the pefect shape of the Decepticon logo.
  • Funny, I don't know why everyone seemed liked the first one.
  • Funny, I don't know why everyone seemed to like the first one.
  • LoL
  • I think this movie will be badass, only because of the Giant Robots and nothing else
  • Sean coates
    SOOOOOOOOO STOAKED
  • justin
i could have sworn the movie was coming out july 3rd....
whats up with a majority of the big movies coming out in may? a pixar movie in may? come on now...
  • keef
Yay finally a new poster for Terminator Fou... I mean Transformers two!!
  • Oh please, every die hard Transformer fan knows that in the original animated series, the Decepticon base was underwater in the ocean. Where did they drop 'dead' Megatron at the end of the first film...? *click*!! Megatron will be back, he's a marketing angle. He'll definitely be back.
  • Not the most attractive teaser poster ever, but I guess it will do... pretty brave of them not to mention the film title on it. I'm still hanging for the teaser trailer. I remember TF1's teaser in 2007 was classic.
  • OMGrant
Not Megatron. The fins on the side resemble the Jet Fire toy.

you know, this idea of a 'fallen' & vengeful transformer is worlds away from the obvious and easy way out storyline people have attatched to the name micheal bay. i think he deserves some credit for encouraging a not so typical sequal/story from the writers. yes of course they deserve the most accolades, but i'm just very impressed that it sounds like we are going to get a very layered, serious, and in depth tale of 'toy robots', which could have easily gone the way of spectacle over content.

they have created a very serious world with real consequences, and i'm truly excited by the possibilites. its remarkable that they have given so much life to optimus prime, that he could easily be considered a leading or strong supporting actor, and not just eye candy. fucking rock on peter cullen, bay, kurtzman, orci, krueger etc...

this film is easily my #1 most anticipated for 2009.
  • optimusprime
this teaser sets the tone. BAD-ASS. can't wait
  • Bring on the Teaser trailer, we have waited long enough.
  • Palmer
Fine...but I refuse to recognize Hugo Weaving as an acceptable voice of Megatron, even if people say that Frank Welker's voice wouldn't match the design!
  • K-Man
He didn't say that was Megatron but in the final battle of the first movie Prime says something along the lines of "at the end of this day, one shall stand, one shall fall." I think we know who fell that day and who will want revenge.
  • Thanks, I know...I was just being stupid...
  • k-man
    Then I apologize, Stars.
  • Hey man no prob...its all good...
  • Palmer
Fine...but I refuse to recognize Hugo Weaving as an acceptable voice of Megatron, even if people say that Frank Welker's voice wouldn't match the design! And sadly...I must admit that it's hard to believe Megatron was killed by little ol' Shia.
  • JakePT
Isn't the fallen supposed to be, well, The Fallen?
    http://geeksofdoom.com/2008/06/09/transformers-2-...
  • It dosent look like a Transformers poster...
Maybe a dungeons or dragons teaser poster

Withouth knowing anything about the film i would not guess transformers...and im sure quite i few people wont get it either
  • AsianRage
    Looks like Sauron.

    Can't wait for the trailer!!!!
  • I remember my first encounter with a metal vagina...
  • It does look a bit like Sauron.

Its a pretty simple poster... looks cool though...
  • Turns out that terrible poster was real. Man that's weird.
  • SPOILER!!! its Megatron in his new Tank mode! END SPOILER!!!
  • I really have to give Bay some respect here. It must be nice not having to worry about getting rave reviews like most filmmakers. I mean, it's Michael Bay, we already know that it's not going to be that great of a movie, and who cares? We just want to see robots kicking ass. Michael Bay just wants to give us robots kicking ass. If that's not filmmaking in it's purist form, well then I don't know what is.
  • PETE
really!!! i can not wait for this movie to come out. Why? it come out on my birthday. anyhow, I think that star scream is the fallen cause he's supposed to be the leader coming back since megatron is dead.

This Is The True Info People !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    1. Megatron DO NOT COMING BACK IN TF2. That you saw the tank mode he had, that was just a new toy from Hasbro !!!
    2. On the teaser background that is NOT Megatron OR some else Transformer. That IS The Fallen. And Teaser says "Revenge Is Coming". YES The Fallen is coming for his revenge.
    3. The Fallens head looks alot like Decepticon Logo.
    4. Some others says that Autobots and Decepticons join eachother to fight The Fallen because he is to far strong. (I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE)
    5. Bay described the Fallen as "apocalyptic".
6.The teaser trailer will premiere during Super Bowl XLIII on February 1, 2009
  • labiudalapa
    Forgot some few things.
    7. On The Fallens shoulders (i dont know if that is realy shoulders) but you see some strange Hieroglyphs.
    8. IT IS Confirmed that on the Teaser it is The Fallen. NOT: Megatron. (Not Coming Back In TF2, problay Starscream will take his place. NOT: Soundwave. NOT: Jetfire.
    IT IS THE FALLEN.
