Fighting Movie Trailer

Rouge Pictures has released the first trailer for Fighting action drama set in the world of underground street fighting. The film stars Channing Tatum as a small-town boy Shawn MacArthur, who has come to New York City with nothing. Terrence Howard sees that he has a natural talent for streetfighting. The trailer is everything you might expect it to be, and not much more — which is disappointing because I really loved the originality and style of Dito Montiel’s indie debut to A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. Watch the trailer and leave your thoughts after the jump.

“Barely earning a living selling counterfeit goods on the streets, his luck changes when scam artist Harvey Boarden  When Harvey offers Shawn help at making the real cash, the two form an uneasy partnership. As Shawn’s manager, Harvey introduces him to the corrupt bare-knuckle circuit, where rich men bet on disposable pawns. Almost overnight, he becomes a star brawler, taking down professional boxers, mixed martial arts champs and ultimate fighters in a series of staggeringly intense bouts. But if Shawn ever hopes to escape the dark world in which he’s found himself, he must now face the toughest fight of his life.”

Watch the trailer in High Definition on MySpace. Fighting hits theaters on April 24th 2009.

20 bucks says that, within the next year, "Fight Movie" will be in production. Wayans Bros. may or may not be involved.
  • fernt
    wow that looks terrible.
  • bob
    your a dumbass
  • love Terrence Howard ,but this is FIGHT CLUB for the mentally challenged .
  • right on, man. This looks terrible.
  • I agree 100%
  • Wrong...this is fight club for the MTV generation
  • Hm, so we got never back down mixed with Redbelt. hmm.. Big slap to the face of Redbelt, who worked hard to make fighting seem at least honorable.
  • movie reviewer 108
i didnt think anyone else would notice how redbelt was trying to show that it isnt all bad, that sometimes it is respectible
  • filmkid
i wish the new street fighter was like Redbelt, never back down or even this movie Fighting at least this looks better then Street Fighter The Legend Of Chun-LI
  • wow those movies were just as lame...there's no real hope for "fight" based movies anymore..outside 87 Eleven productions
  • movie revier 108
you are so wrong, all the movie has to do is connect with the audince and show them a taste of the "adreniline rush" that all of taodays movies now have, thats all that has to connect for people to be curious, though the economy may have a say in that decision
  • movie reviewer 108
also, have you noticed that no good movies are out so they are redoing the best movies of yerteryear, for example the day the earth stood still was a clasic in its day and through out history the oringinal will be prominent but they redid it, probably because they thought it might be even better, meaning that it would invite the skeptics and the kids who think it looks like it kicks ass, that is really what was behind that decision
  • wow those movies were just as lame...there's no real hope for "fight" based movies anymore..outside 87 Eleven productions...I haven't seen a lot of movies that even compare with Enter The Dragon...and that movie is ancient
  • John
    completely agree
  • Brand0
Just watch Lionheart with JCVD. It will probably be better.
  • Goro
    Cheeesy. REALLY Cheesy.
  • John
    Cheesy but looks awesome
  • As much as I loved 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints', this looks incredibly cliche and lame.
  • looks really bad.
  • Jud
Channing Tatum comes to NY with nothing, and Terrance Howard sees his natural talent to streetfight...HILARIOUS
  • Looks like a step backward for both actors, which is a shame. Could be decent, but judgment on the trailer alone doesn't inspire.
  • John
This movie looks awesome a lot better then fuckin G.I joe so go fuck urself and the step back for terrance howard is not being in Iron Man 2 hes a fuck.
  • Hahahaha, I could def see that in the near future...
  • Channing Tatum can't see JCVD...
  • I didn't even look at the trailer, but i just wanted to say Fighting is a dumb name for a movie imo.
  • John
The movie looks great but agreed it is a dumb name
  • jason B
tatum's best work is still that amanda bynes soccer movie.
  • Lionheart was a brutally violent movie which represents street fighting better than this flick...also JCVD could actually fight so the scenes looked a little more realistic than this trailer....I don't think we'll be hearing much about this one
  • Why you gotta ruin.my day like that?
  • TheMarquis
    my deepest apologies.
  • Thorloth
I hate to be the black sheep here but this looks really cool to me. I'm impressed with Tatum's acting from what i saw here. Yeah it's another fighting movie but if it's well done then sign me up. I'm going to see this.
  • John
Agreed completely dude. You arn't alone. It looks inspiring even.
  • movie reviewer 108
your not the black sheep, it is just that the people that think it is good now that and dont really care enough to speak up b/c it is pointless when they know it will do well
  • Nathan Name
Im a little intrigued by this trailer, but as soon as I show to my wife she'll show me the errors of my way and Ill no longer be into it, lol... *sigh*
  • Ben
Is it naive of me to still hope that maybe this is one of those cases where the trailer just isnt doing the actual movie justice?
  • movie reviewer 108
although it could be that, some really good movies i reviewed look bad on tv trailer but they really got good in the parts not even thought upon to be show for its nicocity, although i like how the trailer portrays it and how it is b/c he has something that he pulls through, none of that is foreign even when we were little that message was beaten into us at every turn, lol
  • WHen did they rename it?
I swear it was called "Never Back Down 2 Tha Streets" just before:P
  • movie reviewer 108
thats what i thought, but i guess they didnt want the street image to come up and scare parents away from showing their kids
  • ha ha ha brilliant.
  • sigh... boring. i agree with steelo.
  • For a Gay guy Channing Tatum looks like he can fight. Terrence Howard this is the the right role for you.
  • Dito's debut found remarkable depth in in his young cast, especially Tatum. And the guy shoots New York a native clearly in love with his hometown.
Also: this is about underground fighting for profit, not a sadomasochistic anarchist movement. So aside from sweaty dudes punching each other lets drop the Fight Club references.
I'm going to have to agree with "Thorloth" and "F-bomb droppah". And that ladies and gentlemen is the first time that sentence has ever been written.
  • screwthamovie
    whats that song called
  • noone you know, lol
its called "remember the name" by fort minor
  • eLmO
ok i can see where people are coming from with this one, but doesnt anybody think this looks like an ejoyable cheesy flick for a saturday nite and sum beers!?

ive gotta be honest tho, i reckon this flick could be better than the trailer makes out. Dito montel had a pretty good debut, so im gonna reserve judgement until i see this one
  • Chuck Phoenix
You have to be kidding me... has nobody seen LIONHEART with JCVD??? That is that damn movie with a different set up. They just ripped off the Lion Heart Idea and put it in a more modern setting... Now shits getting sad in the movie industry.
  • I'll just watch Fight Club again
  • F-Bomb droppah
has to be good if it comes from the guy who made A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints
  • friend...MTV generation = mentally challenged.
