Watchmen Video Journal: The Minutemen

Earlier today we posted a kick ass Japanese Watchmen movie trailer, totally forgetting that it was the 6th of the month. And you probably know by now that every month on the 6th Warner Bros releases a new Watchmen Video Journal. This month’s video takes a look at the first generation of organized vigilantes - the Minutemen. I love the golden age design on the costumes, which is directly ripped from the comics. Watch the new video embedded below or in High Definition on Apple.com.

That was a pretty good video, and you know, Dollar Bill kind of looks like Captain America...kind of...well his mask really.
  • Hooded Justice looks fatter than I imagine he would be.
  • i could be wrong, but wasn't he drawn rather large in the book?
  • He was more toned than fat. I would put a link but it would be sent for moderation. Type in Hooded Justice in Google Images and look at the fourth image.
  • Yes, but he was believed to be a circus strongman, thus making him muscular. He's also leaner in the book.
  • Zinc
Ah, the Minutemen? I consider myself to be a minuteman as well. Well, some two minuteman.
  • Warner Bros. are on their toes marketing wise. Too bad they aren't litigious.
  • Anyone want to gander why the latest two vids didn't update to the Watchmen app for iphone/ipod?

"Coming up with the designs for the older characters was lots of fun".

When he says "coming up with designs" he means opening up graphic novel and copying the costumes, right? This movie looks cool but they've designed nothing...although that isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially for fans of the gn.
  • True, but it also means that he had to design how the costume had to be constructed to be as close to the comic as he could not mentioning right materials and proper size of the costume...sounds simple but it can be a complicated process sometimes.
  • Ahhh another glimpse of a movie were not gonna see
  • All this hype is crazy.
  • I agree... it's like a damn commercial a TV station won't stop repeating over and over. Eventually you get tired of it being pushed into your face and you begin to resent the product. I'm almost not going to this on principle.

Oh, and because all the fanboys calling for Fox's head when it was WB's who f*cked up really grits my sh*t. But that's a different thing altogether.
  • it's all about the benjamins, baby!!! MASSIVE MARKETING=MONEY!!!!
  • no crazier than all the dark knight hype. i personally thought THAT was more insane than this.
  • I just can't wait to see and buy some ACTION FIGURES of them all... Can you?
  • gah
does anyone else get the feeling this is not going to come out this year? Also: why are they still legally allowed to release new ads and promos?
  • dotpaul
I would guess because they are not selling anything or making money on these videos. They are freely distributed.

    Anyone know for sure?
  • theywouldbebabies
i'm just waitin for baby watchmen
  • is it just me or does jackie earle haley look like some kind of rodent?

im not dissing the flick, im just making an observation
  • *rocking back and forth in a corner*
....just 3 more months, just 3 more months, just 3 more months, just 3 more months...
  • Patrick
Uhh, don't you mean 2 more months?

But anyway, the movie will never come out. So quit rocking!
  • Donivan
The movie will release.Maybe later than originally slated, maybe underground, bootleg, segments, stolen copy or whatever, but it will be seen.It is destined!
  • :D
  • The costumes colors really sell the presentation of the whole thing.
  • i love LOVE the black Cleopatra look! *dies*
  • I love it too. Nearly as hot as Silk Spectre.
  • yeah I'm a girl... shut the fuck up!!!
  • Girls don't exist on teh internetz.
  • whopretendtobegirls
    Only wimpy, emotionally distraught males.
  • You do realize that I was joking...
  • Are you sure? -checks- ...Well I might be a hermaphrodite...but none the less...I'm 99% girl.
  • silhouette is hot.....
  • Loving the old-style look of Nite Owl and Hooded Justice on the big screen. Mind, one thing that always grew on me was ambiguity surrounding Hooded Justice, the graphic novel gave hints towards certain characters, but never confirmed anything (or did it, and I simply just can't remember). My anticipation grows for this film.
