  • rodkeys
This should be the opening for the Academy Awards! Amazing song and editing.
  • Stranger
    Agreed!!!!
  • awesome.
  • Shame more soundtracks don't feature Sigur Ros, their music is amazing.
  • Justin
With the exception of Defiance, Wendy and Lucy, Seven Pounds, and Revolutionary Road, I've seen everything in that video. It WAS a good year for film, I hope this is year I start to work in the industry.
  • The song makes the clip great. Easily. Sigur Ros is awesome at producing epic yet transcendental music...
  • No Transporter 3?
  • The Joker Argento
Excellent montage! Congratulations to the maker of this video. From Argentina. L

  • *tear...I love movies
  • NO HELLBOY?!?!?!?!

    Oh well, It's awesome =D

(oh, and they also forgot The Spirit, even though it wasn't that good)
  • Great video. Now I have a constant reminder of films that I missed and absolutely NEED to see. Nice Work!
  • Starfox
Bonus points for Sigur Ros. Perfect compliment to the clips.

But why so many repeats? Certainly many many films were left out in favor of repeated clips of the big ones.
  • The video was pretty good. I enjoyed every second of it.
  • Leisl
Amazing video, feeling very emotional now!
  • That was very very cool...and the music was epic...
  • J. P.
    Bloody Brilliant!
  • peter, have you made a top movies of 08 list? i would like to see it. you, chensky, and hunter should all do it
  • Good clip. Maybe a bit too much Dark Knight (but who's against that?)
  • Olly
this was movie made some of the movies in it look better than they actually were. this guy should be doing the montages for the Academy Awards (if he isn't already, who knows?)
  • awesome
  • I just watched Snow Angels last night. Fantastic movie...but wasn't that from 2007? Not 2008?

That was still a kick ass video though. Loved it.
  • Loved it. Really Cool. I didn't see all those films and this dissapoints me. But one question, where's The Changeling ? Where's one of the greatest film of 2008 ? Where's Angelina Jolie's great performance ? Maybe he forgot it but I think, it's sad ... Though that, what a wonderful year with a lot of great productions like The Dark Knight ! I hope 2009 will be the same, or better !
Happy New Year 2009 to everyone !

  • jason B
very, very cool...but shoulda ended with the Gran Torino shot - eastwood shooting at the camera is so profound/beautiful/epic/symbolic and all out badass.
  • TylerJ
Fuck yes, Sigur ros. Are they becoming popular now or is this guy just that cool?
  • mcgruff
i wish. more like this song has been popular in trailers for a couple of years. and it works smashingly here as well.
  • I'd rather here this than the Requim music. Every time I see a trailer (or anything else) with that music, it immediately turns me off.
  • I'd rather hear this than the Requim music. Every time I see a trailer (or anything else) with that music, it immediately turns me off.
  • ianvanwoods
Where's JCVD? C'mon everyone, go see this movie. haha
  • That was great it makes me wanna re-watch every film I've seen this year even the bad ones.
  • this video is amazing!!!!
  • aaaaaaaaa
    speed racer?
  • That was bloody awful. Trite, dull, pointless, semi-slick in places but... well, just witless. Where's the imagination? I'm sorry Matt, but unless you're looking to build a CV specifically to get a job cutting the most insipid, anodyne trailers ever made then you'd be better doing something else with your abilities.
  • Joe
Despite only seeing about 18 films from '08 at this point, I recognized all of those movies. I'd have appreciated it a lot more if all the shots weren't from trailers. Still, I'm a sucker for Hoppipolla.
  • cmarius
Anyone know which movie the cell-shaded scenes were taken from? Also, yay for sigur ros.
  • Pavelz
It's Waltz with Bashir indeed. Israeli movie.
Oh yes, and this video totally rocks! Great year it was
  • If I had to recommend one 'foreign' film from last year it would be 'Waltz With Bashir'. It's a beautifully horrific animated-documentary, yet unlike Palmer I was lucky as it was only shown in my cinema (Sheffield, England) for three days and I managed to stumble upon it as I stumbled in one cold wintery afternoon. Hopefully it'll get a wider release, or even better that the DVD/Blu-Ray will be released very soon.
  • Palmer
Waltz with Bashir. I really want to see but alas, it's not playing in any theater close by.
  • I'm highly amused that where the music gets triumphant, he just showcases explosions. But it's still a very good video.
  • George Kaplan
That opening shot of the Joker flicking the knife open as he lurches down the street reminds me how much I wish that shot made it into the film.
