MIA’s Paper Planes Slumdog Millionaire Remix Video

The music video for MIA’s Paper Planes remix has been released. The song is featured prominently in the soundtrack for Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire. Check out the video below. If you haven’t yet, buy/download the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. I know its available now on iTunes. It’s definitely one of the best of the year.

  • currently avoiding all material concerning this movie until i see it in theatres. anyone else?
  • It's an alright version to the song but I think I'll stick with the original. I really want to see this movie though.
  • Dr. Doc
worked better in the Pineapple Express trailer
  • This song is way too catchy.

It's the kind of thing you wonder why wasn't done sooner given the popularity of the song. I think it works really well in the movie, both in the original form, and then as a reprise. M.I.A. popping up on the soundtrack was one of the best surprises in that movie.

I actually thought the use of "Paper Planes" was one of the film's few flaws. The remix worked a little better, but I thought the more traditional Indian score flowed much better. When "Paper Planes" started playing it pulled me right out of the movie.

Well, it probably wouldn't if Pineapple Express wasn't released sooner. Danny Boyle had the song and everything for months.
  • meh to the remix, it kinda reminded me of donkey kong...
  • I was (still am) a fan of Paper Planes. I have got to write, this is a sweet remix. It is a completely different flavor (if sound has a flavor) then the original. Sweeter and more tangy (strange way to describe it, but it makes sense to me.) It is not as gritty as the original. A nice new way of listening to a great song. I am a fan.
  • cool. i really wana see somebody do a trailer mash with slumdog millionaire and busta rhymes' arab money...
  • I love original and the remix. The original version was kind of in your face during the film, but the remix I thought was a nice touch. I saw Slumdog over the weekend and it's one of the few movies I've seen this year where the soundtrack stood out as much as the film. I definitely want to pick it up.
  • I was surprised when the song came on in the movie, and I actually thought it fit in for the most part. The words would match what was happening on screen, etc.
  • MIA is such a fucking poser. I used to admire her, but after reading interviews with her and reading her outrageous, ignorant, hipster-wannabe quotes, I can't stand the fakeass bitch anymore.
  • @fanboy_d: yes, because arabs and indians are the same race.
  • Still better than the trailer.
  • It sounds like someone beating a dead one trick pony..
  • I still laugh at how big this song got 'all of a sudden'. Those who listen to Triple J in Australia can relate, I'm sure: It was getting air for months late last year. Now commercial radio is playing it as 'new music first!!' ARG!
  • Remix is horrible(compared to the original) and this still doesn't make me want to see this movie. Besides, wasnt there already a Paper Planes music video?
