  • oh. it's taken down already. not surprising. i hope this movie doesn't suck. if anything. the action should be pretty cool, and the story will be well not great... if that is the verdict, i'd be happy. a good story would be a bonus.
  • The trailer was great. But did anyone else notice that they changed it from the ComicCon version where Wolverine doesn't cuss at Sabertooth at the end.
  • damn there's a bunch of haters on this blog. For pure ignorant comic book fun I dug it. I don't need Magnolia

As a hardcore Wolverine fan since I was 3 years-old, I must say that I just expected more in the trailer. This looks like a teaser. I have to say that I could stop myself from saying "Oh my God" when I saw Wolverine after he gets his claws.

    *liar* LOL

Seriously, it failed for me to get a big reaction .

Last night I got my X2 DVD and started comparing over and over again the way Wolverine is in that scene and I must say Hugh Jackman needed more intensity in his performance from what I've seen in the trailer.
  • as much as I trust Gavin Hood (and pretty much anyone from Anonymous Content) to deliver a badass movie.. and as much as I like the trialer... just Sabertooth's "little" figure really bugs me...

please somebody take a look at this

this is how fuckin Sabertooth should be and scared from (this is why I love full CG if it's done right)
  • But in having some oversized goon to play the part it isn't so grounded in the reality that a lot of these comic book films need.
It's fine to have a 6 foot whatever sized character in a book, that's what comic books are, but unless you want it to be overly cheesy it just doesn't work in MOST cases on film as well. You can't get away with it as easy. The general public aren't as likely to swallow a sabertooth that's 7 foot something.
  • yeah... that's a totally valid reason... but at the same time, Liev Shreiber just looks puny, doesn't he? He is not the badass mofo that he should be, no matter how good his dialogs are written/ well developed the character be...
  • this is another comic page of Sabertooth's doing (and I'm not the biggest Sabertooth fan) which I totally believe that character in the movie would be incabale of doing sth like this

I'm really starting to wonder if the excitement generated by film trailers is built soley on the use of "Sunshine" music. I hope Boyle and Williams get royalties for the usage.

And am I the only one who is getting tired of the same grand chorus singing bit from "300"?

The footage itself is decent. Not a fan of Wolverine. Character is overated and way overwritten.
  • Pretty good trailer. Hope it lives up to the hype! As long as it's better than X-men 3.
  • i hate when they show most of the action in the trailer. nonetheless, its a good trailer.

Down, Fox have claimed copyright infringe.

I claim unnecessary release of garbage to the public

Read up comments on imdb or even here. Ppl ARE going just to see trailers sometimes crazy as it sounds.
  • You are right on both counts. They are going and are crazy.
  • Cerebro89
Looks decent. However, I think, in order to do the X-Men and their relation to the rest of the Marvel Universe justice, Marvel needs to buy it back from Fox, reboot the franchise, and start from the beginning. I was horribly disappointed by the first three, and while this looks promising it is simply another addition to Wolverine's story, and while that is the intention of this movie I feel a little Wolverined out from the last three X-Men films. I hope that I am pleasantly surprised by this movie but as of now I have very low expectations and think that Fox will, similar to Fantastic Four and every other comic book film they have touched, screw it up royally.
  • Why they didn't release the HD trailer online and avoid these poor quality rip offs from popping up I'll never understand.
  • John Freeman
To lure everyone into seeing Day the earth stood still. Thats why.
  • They don't honestly think that EVER works, do they? C'mon.
  • If you really can't wait to see this trailer, check this link; http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/xmen-origins...

If not, then the trailer should be released sometime tomorrow according to TrailerAddict: "Trailer Addict has confirmed word that the trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine will in fact debut online at MySpace on December 15th."
  • The McD
I think it'll be better than X3 only because it doesn't appear to give as many opportunities for Wolvie to sob like a bitch. And I have to give kudos to the studio for officially doing what they've been trying to subtly do these past three X-Men movies and just make a Wolverine movie to placate the fanboys (the three X-Men movies did no justice to the actual X-Men, in my opinion.)

And I'm actually impressed with Liev Schriber. I had my doubts, as I'm sure everyone else did. But that smirk at the end of the trailer was pure Sabertooth.
  • Brian
LMAO @ Hugh Jackman in an American WWII uniform.
Looks just as ridiculous as the other X-Men films.
The scene where he takes a bullet and then just turns back trying to look all badass...come on...it's Hugh Jackman.

Grr they really need to make a good comic book movie.
  • I'm confused Brian, is he not man enough or not American enough? And yah, I wish X2, Spiderman 2, and the Dark Knight were as good we all hoped. Such disappointments! ;)
  • Mota
I'm even more confused. Isn't Wolverine Canadian?
  • That he is, but I don't see how it prevents him from fighting in an American uniform. It may not be canon, but it's hardly a deal breaker for me. I just hope they don't drop his history in Japan.

    *yawn*
  • Like Steelo, I was never a fan of the 'X-Men' comics, nor do I know much in-depth knowledge about how every character developed and grew over-time, but to me that simply looks like pure merciless, comic-book fun.

Now what really is annoying is in England we didn't (well the cinema I was in didn't show it) get this trailer, yet while our friends across the Atlantic get to enjoy it in decent quality, we have to wait while 20th Century essentially pull their fingers out of their arses and decide to provide with a decent marketing tactic by actually building 'buzz' of the film by releasing it to the public via the internet.

I hate it when this, nor can never really understand why a studio wouldn't want to get a film [trailer] like this out to the public as soon as possible (only reason that stands to justice, is possible backlash/criticism?).
  • mcgruff
XMEN in the title = $10 million more opening weekend from the common folk who think that wolverines are furry little animals who live in alaska.
  • Looks good enough to banish the memories of X3. And I see what Adam meant about the Die Hard 4 thing :)
  • yeah that movie was terrible
  • See I think its the exact opposite. They are shoehorning quite a bit of side characters into this just like in X3. If they serve the purpose of the plot, fine. But if they're just greenery to make amends for not having them in the original trilogy, that would be lame. Either way, I'll be there just like the previous movies.

    Damn you TOM ROTHMAN.
  • MattyMo
Most of the side characters that I'm aware of (Sabertooth, Deadpool, Silver Fox) are important facets of the Weapon X story. The only two that aren't traditional elements of Wolverine's past are Blob and Gambit. I'm not too worried. I think the trailer looks pretty cool.

Supposedly The HD Trailer Is Gonna Be On Myspace's Trailer Park Monday

so FOX has a Dragonball trailer and Wolverine trailer aint there a Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun li trailer from FOX yet

this trailer is actually good cant wait to see this movie i think this is FOX only hope cause WB is going to hit them hard with Watchmen, Terminator Salvation, Harry Potter
  • Deity
Hold on to your horses 20th Century Fox! First you give us the masterpiece to be "Dragonball :Evolution" (Which I'm sure will be critically acclaimed and nominated for an Oscar for the 09' run). Now you give us the trailer for X-Men Origins:Wolverine! I don't think I can handle this amount of quality film making all in one week. Glad to see that studio's aren't milking colossal franchises and putting little effort to adapt into film to make a quick buck. *phew*
  • Brian
Haha couldn't have said it better myself...that's Hollywood big wig garbage for you though...yay for indie.
  • marz
i saw the actual trailer while watching tdtess and i enjoyed what i saw so far, however,i got there a little late and missed the knowing trailer that was supposed to be attached.i was hoping to see new footage of that.
  • I CANNOT WAIT!!!! When should an official trailer hit the internet?
  • Looks better then that Effing Terminator reboot/sequel/prequel( Make up your minds).... even with the grain and pixelation, and those two people who walk through half way in. Common !let the guy with his five dollar camera record a decent bootleg for those of us who don't want to give FOX any money for that piece o poop they call "the day the earth stood still".

    Too Harsh?
  • jason B
man...i'm really worried about this one. i'm not convinced they had THE BEST script to work with. wolverine deserves as good of a film as batman & spider-man - some of this trailer makes me yearn for my own set of claws, and some of it makes me cringe.
  • David Simmons
I like the expanded story & character suggestions, but I like the "punch" of the Comic Con trailer much more. Here's hoping, like many others have said, that the many characters fans have been waiting to see are there for a reason.
  • Was the music in this trailer from Blood Diamond???
  • The first piece of music used was from SUNSHINE.

And I suppose this looks okay, I guess. In terms of Marvel stuff it looks better than most of their output. Then again I've never understood what is so enthralling about Wolverine... sure he's cool because he can't die. But how interesting can that be?
  • the Danny Boyle film?
  • FreedomisPopular
I'll go see it, but after X3 I'm not hopeful.
  • I think it looks like a good movie if rampant facial hair is your thing.
