Terminator Salvation Movie Trailer #2

Earlier today a Japanese trailer leaked for Terminator Salvation. Well now Warner Bros has released the Official second domestic trailer for the film, and its an extremely different cut. We get a better look at the Moto-Terminator and the gigantic transformer-like Harvester. Even the detractors need to give McG some credit, this film is looking better and better. Watch the trailer in High Definition on Apple or embedded below. I’ve also included the Japanese trailer after the jump.

Official Plot Synopsis: In the highly anticipated new installment of “The Terminator” film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

Thats what the batman voice SHOULD have been. More rasp, less cookie monster. But with the taste of Term3 still in my mouth...I'm not gonna lie. That trailer pretty much made me crap my pants.

I still can't get over that Christian Bale is in this. Batman and Terminator. Two of the biggest franchises ever. Who's he going to be cast as next, Jack Sparrow? Superman? Spider-man? Dare I say it...older Harry Potter? I see potential.

Meh. Looks like the same old grainy, battle stuff we've been seeing in Resident Evil type movies, except this time with Batman, sans the mask and cape. Seriously, it's the same gravelly voice. This looks pretty by-the-book and missing any of the fun from the first films. Whatever.

It is really disappointing how people are so quick to change their minds about a movie after seeing a trailer. Please keep in mind that it is possible to make a great trailer for a shitty movie, or conversely to make a shitty trailer for a great movie. I'm not saying that no one should be excited for this movie, but I hate how people will first of all say lots of bad things about a movie they know little about, and then suddenly change their minds when they are wowed by a trailer. It shows ignorance on so many levels.

Disregarding all that, I have a feeling that like Watchmen this will at the least be an entertaining movie that's worth going to the theater to see.

This movie has a couple things going for it to me. Terminator cycles, the war setting, christian bale, and the fact that it can in no way be as disappointing as T3 was to me.

Christian Bale has really only had a couple of bad movies, but I think this could end up on the list. The trailer was fine, good action, but I will remain skeptical because I cannot put hope in the fact the director will succeed in telling a good story. My only complaint about Bale is he seems to be getting too comfortable in this monotone gravel voice. I guess it could be label as his tough voice.

Keep in mind the guy is English and normally has an English accent, so I think he's doing pretty well to eliminate the accent and then speak with a raspy voice.

These trailers look good and I'm starting to get excited for this movie, but I try to temper my excitement with the knowledge that McG is directing and that quote from a week or two ago where Bale said "Eh, it's alright" to Brolin. But no doubt I will be there in theatres to check it out.

I like this Trailer. Think the movie is going more on the Dark Side than the other films. Looking forward to see it :-)

I have to admit I was skeptical when I heard McG was involved, but knowing Bale was playing John Connor helped soften the blow.

Seeing this trailer makes all of the bad feelings go away. Kick ass trailer.

i'm seeing this movie. I think McG is a hack, but if he can just not ruin it, then he's okay with me.

And not only is he playing Harry Potter in the flash forward at the end of Deathly hallows, Spielberg is casting him as Lincoln.

The highway scene had a nice Road Warrior feel. But like T3, I'm thinking this will be a rental. McG has still yet to prove he can make a compelling film. The story behind We Are Marshall was wasted on him ...

I feel like I'm the only person who remembers the first Terminator. I'm not disagreeing with you that this looks on the Dark Side but the original is about as bleak as it gets. The Terminator runs around slaughtering people. No matter what they do he keeps coming at them. It's a terrifying movie. Then, on top of that, you have the tragic love between Sarah and Kyle. They only get to spend one night together. He dies saving her. She's left alone, on the run from the life she knew, with an unborn baby facing a world she knows will end in nuclear apocalypse. You don't get much darker than that. God, I love that movie.

It's funny, I'm looking forward to this not because I trust the director to deliver a great story, but because I trust the lead actor to deliver it. Christian Bale is a demanding kind of person, I think his involvement guarantees a shit ton more effort on the part of McG than we've seen before. At least, I hope.

An older Harry Potter? Ah god...my dream would come true! My two loves all in one! The Harry Potter books + Christian Bale? My head would explode! I'd dig it...Bale is out of the UK after all, and the HP movies have just about every English actor out there...all they're missing is Mr. Bean.

i think it looks great. but i think some people's reactions to the voice are RIDICULOUS. why the heck are people complaining so much?? this is toned version anyway. but seriously, stop whining about the voice. the crying/complaining is way more annoying than his voice. he sounds pretty awesome at times here.

Of course you're right. When I wrote my comment just the second and third part was in my head. And those were colourful popcorn films when you compare them with the first movie or this new trailer. In part 2 and 3 there was lots of humour and funny things. Hope, that Terminator Salvation will rock...on the dark side.

By the way: Terminator 1 still is one of my all time favourites. Cause of this realistic way she an Kyle behave and react when it comes to fight against the Terminator...
