    same thing here!
  • Yes, it's all them. Only Rick Moranis wouldn't agree to come back. Search around here on /Film. Peter wrote about it earlier.
  • I wish I wish upon a star, that the sales of this video game will skyrocket and help those with the power realise that a new Ghostbusters film would absolutely rock hard.
  • This looks awesome.
  • RyGuy
There have been plenty of previews around the game play. I believe OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) did an in-depth, button-by-button press, explanation of the entire game and they said it is very solid and tight in the gameplay department.
  • nikki
Franky, I used to like Rick, but now I'm not so sure!!!
  • RyGuy
Well, Atari picked up the publishing rights to the game and they have been strapped for cash flow lately. I bet even with moderate sales and strong critical reviews you'd see another game.
  • this looks awesome, and reminds me that I need to get teh dvds for the movies now
  • i honestly wasnt expecting much from this game, but it did look freaking awesome. i actually genuinely smiled when watching that trailer. It looks good, i hope actually gameplay is as fluid.
  • BlueBobcat
    Hell YEAH!

I was so bummed out when the status of this game was thrown into doubt a few months back... thank God it's been picked up again. The development looks to be coming along nicely. I can't wait to get my hands on this...
  • Luke
Were those voice actors the real guys? It sounded like Dan Aykroyd, but I'm not sure if that was Bill Murray or not...
  • a11mark
looks more amazing than I thought it would be. How have they managed to get the characters so life like (you dont get life like in many video games) I wondering if I should buy a big HD tv just for this game. and Luke yes the are the real guys the all got together this year to record it and from where Im sitting that is definatly bill muray game looks good 25th anniversary next year I wonder what over money making ties in there will be to the franchise fingers crossed for ghostbusters 3 (fingers crossed)
  • well now i'm excited.
  • Trailer shows a good game to come, but I sure do miss Don LaFontaine.
  • As a trailer it looks great, but they didnt really show any gameplay so for all we know it could be a terrible game with good voice acting and graphics.
  • VTchina
Yes, that is really them, all of them. I'm excited!
  • Daniel
I Just got the biggest nerd boner ever. The graphics and voice acting look top notch.
  • Bill Murray seems too subdued, actually.

But, fuck, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't drooling over this game right now!
  • Please, for the love of all that's good and holy, let this game be good. They seem to have gotten Egon's facial expressions spot on.
  • winston
    color me excited

somebody needs to make a .gif of the dance they do and include it in the post as well
  • I thought this game sounded bad, but seeing the trailer, I CAN SEE HOW WRONG I WAS!
    It looks cool... (Y)
  • Wow!! Now that was good, brought back good memories.
I like when they did that dance. That was cool!!
Maybe they should make a 3rd Movie.... Only if it stays true to it's roots of course.
  • lpfanaddy
well the cut scenes will be good, I didn't really see anything in there that looked like actual gameplay though. either way, it looks excellent.
  • I agree, he didn't seem as quirky but still glad to have the whole cast back for this. I can't wait to play it.
  • Its good to see an albeit CGI'd crewed back in action.
  • Gozer: The Choice is made!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Whoa! Ho! Ho! Whoa-oa!
    Gozer: The Traveller has come!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Nobody choosed anything!
    [turns to Egon]
Dr. Peter Venkman: Did you choose anything?
    Dr. Egon Spengler: No.
Dr. Peter Venkman: [to Winston] Did YOU?
Winston Zeddemore: My mind is totally blank.
Dr. Peter Venkman: *I* didn't choose anything...
[long pause, Peter, Egon and Winston all look at Ray]
Dr Ray Stantz: I couldn't help it. It just popped in there.
Dr. Peter Venkman: [angrily] What? *What* "just popped in there?"
Dr Ray Stantz: I... I... I tried to think...
    Dr. Egon Spengler: LOOK!
[they all look over one side of the roof]
Dr Ray Stantz: No! It CAN'T be!
Dr. Peter Venkman: What is it?
Dr Ray Stantz: It CAN'T be!
Dr. Peter Venkman: What did you DO, Ray?
    Winston Zeddemore: Oh, shit!
[they all see a giant cubic white head topped with a sailor hat, Peter looks at Ray]
Dr Ray Stantz: [somberly] It's the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

I've gone through so many emotions while following the tortured, protracted release of this game. The first shot I saw was of the Marshmallow Man, and that immediately invoked ambivalence. I mean, it was great to see him back, and frying him yourself would be fun, but why in Zuul's name would he be back in this 'sequel'? Hasn't it been played out already?

Since then, it's been a bumpy ride for the game. There have been little niggles, like the possibility of Bill Murray not joining the voice cast (Rick Moranis still isn't doing it). Then there was the fact that Activision dropped the game, leaving it in limbo (and don't even start me on Brütal Legend suffering the same fate). Oh, and stir in some mixed reports from various game sites just to add to my inner turmoil.

Y'know what? After all that, I'm still jazzed for this thing somethin' fierce.

Man,I'd rather have a movie than a game. This could be a better CG movie than all that talking animal 3d movies people keep cranking out.
  • L.D.S.
There were five guys suited up in a couple of the shots. Egon, Ray, Winston, Peter. Were there five? It's been so long since I've watched the movies. In one of the shots near the end, you can see the fifth guy standing in the background shooting toward the ceiling. It's when all of them are in line using their packs.
  • L.D.S.
He's also in the background when they're talking and Aykroyd says "It wasn't me this time, I swear."
  • Joe
I'm pretty sure that fifth guy is your playable character. I think the plot line is that you're a new recruit joining the group.
  • Exactly. You play "rookie", a new recruit to the team as they journey through a hellish Manhattan Island. :)

here is some footage of the actual game play
    looks amazing!
  • I did some diiging and it appears that when sony(that holds franchise rights) saw the zootfly's gameplay video screw tottaly zootfly by not giving them the rights and to make deal with bigger company....
    IMO zootfly's version looks better
