What the hell? People are always having parties without telling me...
  • Looking forward to the Australia review on Monday.

thanks for this show! not many people here in Holland track this show, so it's good to here you guys share my opinion on this episode, and the whole season for that matter. Anyway, loved the finale. The close-up moments for both Shane and Vic were beyond words.
  • was this episode advertised and i just missed it? dave, devindra, clue us in here please.
  • This episode was advertised on mine and Devindra's twitter pages yesterday morning. Completely impromptu but a few dozen people still showed up in the ustream chat. Thanks to everyone who came! it was fun.
  • next time, could you please advertise any special events on the main /film site? i wish i was there :'(
  • It's a good thing Adam wasn't on the show or he would have been pretty bored during the last half.
  • So David and Devindra, what new show would you guys say has or will come in to fill the void left by The Shield's departure? For me it has to be True Blood. Its quirky/campy take on vampires and southerners was in great form throughout its first season.
  • I am so glad that the shield is over so we will not have to hear about it any more in the /filmcast..... Now if only they would cancel It's Only sunny in Philadelphia :D
  • chiklis chic
    CHIKLIS RULES!!!!!!!
chiklis and coggins better win emmys for this season.
  • Myles here, Mavi, and know that it's on my life plan to do list. Maybe in the new year!
  • I am sure both are great shows. The problem is... if you don't follow them its get;s kind of tedious listening through repeated reviews and discussions of the same old thing. There are tons of shows that I want to check out but there is only so much time...
  • This is true but sometimes, even with film news, they end up spending a lot of time on a subject I don't have any particular interest in. Sometimes it inspires me to check it out, other times i feel as you do. Just one of those things we're going to have to live with.
  • Myles
    what about Stanley Kubrick?
  • gooso
so does anyone else think that its alwas sunny is going downhill?
  • I love True Blood, but it doesn't really fill the hole left by the Shield. I hear Sons of Anarchy is a decent replacement--which makes sense since a former Shield writer is running it. I definitely plan on checking it out.

Shawn Ryan's other show, The Unit, is also worth getting into IMO.

*cough* Find a weekend editor *cough*

I guess I could find a life but...this site dies on the weekend.
  • I think that, in the first 3 seasons Sunny was trapped in the same formula of:
    1) group comes up with a bright idea (insert taboo)
    2) group splits apart
    3) they fight
    4) Everyone fails
    5) back to normal

And it still kind of is, but I think its improved greatly from last season which was unwatchable for me.
  • Sweet, Cause you know its always good to come home to a suprise.... Plus since i found this Film/TV podcast i know struggle to find any other that are worth playing... Altho recently started Film spotting... and I wish if you could get Myles to start his own based on purely TV that would also be worth a listen..
  • I disagree the more they wouldnt shut up about a show... the more i thought i'd give it ago...
  • Myles
most of the other film websites I go to are just as slow.
  • All the news sources sort of shut down this weekend because it's sort of a holiday :)
  • All the news sources sort of shut down this weekend because it's a holiday weekend after all :)
  • My biggest complaint about book to film adaptations: It's difficult to find copies of the book that aren't covered with the main actor's face. I hate movie editions of books with a passion.
  • I'm expecting you guys to hate Australia.
  • great shows
Enjoy creating new styles and upload it to www.uploaded.tv
  • Weekends are always a bit slow, don't think a weekend editor would solve that.
  • hifo
The 80s Song which is mentioned in the episode of "It's always sunny in Philadelphia" is called "Oh yeah" from YELLO...
  • krakit
This is my favorite /Filmcast episode so far.
Getting to hear the spoilers for the Shield was
good and hearing how you two went back and
forth on possibilities for different characters
    was pretty interesting too.
