Remember earlier in the year when rumor spread across the interwebs that Josh Brolin would be playing a Terminator in McG’s Terminator Salvation? Well it turns out there was something to the rumor after all. Brolin admitted to MTV that he was in talks to join the production.

“Yeah. I talked to Christian [Bale] for a couple hours,” Brolin told MTV. “I really liked the script though I hear that’s not what they filmed. The one I read was very interesting and dark. Ultimately though I didn’t think it felt right.”

Brolin would probably have played the character of Marcus, which is played by Avatar star Sam Worthington in the completed film. And speaking of the completed film, McG told a German Newspaper that the final running time for the movie will be around 2 hours and 10 minutes! So those of you who are expecting a 90 or 100 minute popcorn movie, might want to think again.

  • "I really liked the script though I hear thats not what they filmed. The one I read was very interesting and dark. Ultimately though I didnt think it felt right."

    THATS NOT WHAT THEY FILMED?

so is he saying it aint dark and interesting as McG claims?
  • 2+ HOUR FILMS RULE. WE NEED MORE OF THEM.
  • I can't wait for this movie.
  • No he says that he don't know what they filmed.
  • Mc G , didn't stick to the script and thus the awesome that is one half of the Nolan bros . is not going to rub off and the movie is going to be mediocre.

    Bah!!!!!
  • Well I'm fine with the length as long as it's all stuff that's needed. No filler, etc.
  • It could STILL be a 90 minute popcorn movie, with 40 minutes of fluff... we won't know for sure until the movie's released.

“I really liked the script though I hear that’s not what they filmed. The one I read was very interesting and dark."

hmm, I feel an "uh oh" comin on
  • Does anyone remember Rise Of The Machines? And this new one doesn't even star Arnie! That's like a Die Hard with no John McLane. I'm avoiding this on principle.
  • i hope the time is spent on character development and not some shit 20min actions scenes like in matrix 2.
  • Wow. Over 2 hours.

I think Josh Brolin as a Terminator would've been really interesting...it might've taken me a bit out of the movie though.
  • Anything with Brolin in it is worth a view.
  • Chromey
I don't think anybody was expecting a 90-100 minute movie. There's never been a Terminator movie under 100 minutes long and T2 was about the same length as this. Not to mention they're setting up a trilogy here so over 2 hours doesn't come as a big surprise. That being said, I hope it doesn't overstay it's welcome like so many movies today.
  • This is Great News!
I hope this movie is good, it look like it will be.
  • JakePT
This is good news, I hate short movies, even 'popcorn' movies, Quantum of Solace for example could have been a MUCH better movie if they'd given it more time to flesh out the story and characters.
  • Glad to hear it. I love long movies, more film to enjoy.
  • Die Hard 4 in the making folks.
  • This will not be as bad as Die Hard 4. T4 doesn't have that annoying fuck from the Apple ads.. the bad guy isn't miscast (Timothy Olyphant is a great actor.. just not in that role).

    I have hope for T4.
  • How do you know?
  • "I really liked the script though I hear that's not what they filmed." -see above for the rest of the quote.

Sad really, Jonathan Nolan is a genius, and Mc Director thought he could do better.
  • No, i mean how do you know it's going to be mediocre? First, we know that Josh only "heard" that it's not what they filmed. Second, if so that still doesn't say anything. Don't get me wrong, i love Jonathan Nolan, Memento was really well written and the Dark Knight ... well i don't have to say that. Anyway, what i'm trying to say is: At least let's wait for the first trailer before we judge anything.
  • are you Mc G? or any blood related kin.. If no then I must ask did you see Charlies Angles 2 full throttle.
  • Stupid.
