Twilight Stars Get $10 Million Pay Raise For Sequel

Making a Twilight sequel isn’t going to be cheap. Stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who were each paid $2 million for the first film, will be getting enormous pay raises. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Pattinson and Stewart will be paid $12 million each for the sequel, New Moon. It’s worth noting that the first film was made for only $37 million. Sounds like the budget will be upped considerably for the sequel. I think I’m going to be sick.

    Horrible.

    There is no god.

There's a god!But those dudes in twilight really cant help being ass holes, they are so dam fake.$5o.oooooo to making that movie/surely they could have found better actors.
I'd choose DAYS OF OUR LIVES over that, any episode

Want my f*** $9.5o movie money back dump asses
  • Matt Grippi
I can't wait for High School Twilight Musical 2 The Streets
  • Kelly Lynch
And here I sit, with $99,000 in student loan money to pay off, and I wonder what even a paltry $2 million paycheck must feel like to have.
  • I hate this whole Twilight thing, but I say good for them. They should cash in on their new popularity. Before they know it, this could all be over. Not for Stewart but definitely Pattinson.
  • Delta Assault
    I must concur.
  • TrevorRashid
Considering how much the Twilight stars dislike the craze and the books and especially the insane fans, I'm sure the huge raise was the only way they'd accept.
  • I think they're gonna be putting those extra millions into security from crazy fans.
  • Abe
When you consider the back to back shooting schedule of the next two films; the raise starts to make sense, but it still sucks.
  • IYFreak
He we are in a Sloaping economy.......and money is being waisted by paying the stars of Twilight........how about bailing out the poor!
  • 2 Things:

    1) Its not like the movie was successful because of the stars. And from what I've heard most fans didnt even want Pattinson in the first place.

    2) Werent they terrible?
  • rightbehindyou
i don't know why you guys are freaking out. so what if they get paid more for the next film? what franchise doesn't do that? being a twilight fan i do get a little peeved by the haters, but i live. seriously though, isn't there something better to complain about?
  • I misread you and thought you said, "I think this is going to be sick"
    and I was like ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But to be sure I read again, and saw that you are sane.
    Thank God.
  • Just face it, we've always got to complain about something.
And seeing none of us like this... Why Not?
  • A little Ari Gold action going on behind the scenes.
  • Yeah but the movie did well, and the fans would backlash now if the leads were replaced.
  • Honestly I am sick of the Twilight Fans who complain about the people who are complaining. See everyone has something to complain about.
  • how come they make so much more than me :[
  • I can't believe they were even paid 2 million for Twilight. These producers need to learn how to save some money in what could have been going towards better effects. The actors weren't what created the fandom in the first place. A 5 million raise each would have sufficed. The producers could have had an extra 10 million to spend on better things.
  • I guess that means I can hope that this Twilight bs will soon hit a wall and end up on a desolate island w/ a terrible beard.
  • Don't act so shocked. This stuff happens all the time.

Nearly every actor is overpaid, regardless of their talent level.

    Kwitcherbitchin.
  • Not so much these guys are actually making money, not moving back to Queens cuz they broke.
  • That's just sickening to hear, but then again i'm broke. I might be a tad bit biased.
  • blargotron
exorbitant. absorbent means it can soak up liquids.
  • movfan
    Wow. Jealous much?

They worked hard to make it in Hollywood. If someone else wants that money there is nothing stopping them from trying..
  • Miguel
I agree. They did it for themselves. Go out and make something of yourself. Nobody is stopping you.
  • dirkastan
That's nice of you. You're a great human being.
  • Who said they disliked it? I always heard them say they love the books. The insane fans might be another story though. I think everyone had signed a contract for the first 3 movies all at once. They were just waiting for the green light to start it. I say the raise was just an extra thing they had not planned on.
  • I thought Pattinson did really good actually, as did the rest of the cast. Kristen on the other hand... she needs to learn how to show a little more emotion. It seemed like she was the same through the whole movie.
  • Jeff
I am not jealous. I just find that the work scientists and engineers do is more important. I also hate that actors are overpaid. What they do is not worth the money they receive. Spending five months filming is not worth $235,423,434,556,123,454,546 (an obvious exaggeration).
  • Seems a few people in here don't understand common sense economics.
  • They SHOULD INSTEAD use that money to feed impoverished people...Or help me get through college...just a suggestion...
  • paparent
Hey twilight lovers, come to Forks and Port Angeles...Our industries are flondering. Hopefully some of the next big industry $$ will hit some of the communities that have long suffered. Find a vampire and werewolf out here. Seriously, economically speaking, most of these places are real and could use a boost. We live in the rain and couds without a prayer of hoping that a studio would use the REAL LOCATIONS.
Put some locals through college. Since the movie was filmed in Oregon, we're feeling little love, here. Good for Oregonians, but how bout using some pasty faced Washingtonians. Just a thought.
  • Forks,dude
By the by, there is no big mill in the area for anyone to be slaughtered at by vampires...Those were gone with the spotted owls. That part of the movie was laughed about all over the Olympic Peninsula. Get a friggin clue.
  • Thanks. I knew my word wasn't what I was looking for.
  • For over $10 mil...hell I'd act in it. I haven't been to acting class in about 10 years but I could probably do a damn sight better than those guys.
  • In Valen's name. At least Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are getting paid.
  • I guess I finally have a good reason to propose to Kristen Stewart.
  • fuzzie
I wonder how much money other actors get doing crapy movies? And that's just because thay have a name ( aka Reese Witherspoon with her stupid Legally blonde built a career that led to an Oscar. Hally Berry is another example)That's the way this industry works. Everyone envy? i don't see anyone of you trying to get in it...
These kids deserve it, all and then some.
  • Here's to hopin' they go bankrupt!
  • rightbehindyou
i couldnt have put it better myself
  • Many were against Pattinson casting at first; however as production started, photos were released and interviews abounded the fans embraced him. The number of fans who still weren't on board are tiny.

Were they terrible? No, not in my opinion. Stewart would be better if she would stop fidgeting and Pattinson had to look brooding most of the time as that is how Edward is written though switching between arrogant and moody would have suited the translation of the character better.
  • I'm going to agree with you. I think a lot of actors in general are paid absorbent amounts of money.
  • Dear Summit Entertainment,

Congratulations on committing to paying your Twilight leads $12mil each for the sequel. You have just guaranteed it will get the box-office failure it deserves! Mazal tov!

    Sincerely,
    Not Impressed
  • P.s.: Why not find an actor who doesn't spend an hour doing his best Annikin Skywalker prequel impression.
  • Jeff
I hope they are hit with some tragedy and lose every single dime. Being an actor should not garner millions of dollars. There are more important people doing more important work and they are underpaid, those in scientific fields.
  • Tupac2Big
    Why wish ill on another?
  • Just saw the movie this morning and I enjoyed it. Yes it was cheesy in places, but so is the book. The acting was decent and I'm looking forward to the next one. I honestly don't understand why some people are so up in arms over this whole thing.
If you don't like it, don't see it, ignore it and go about your life.
