Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs Movie Trailer

20th Century Fox has released a movie trailer for Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs. If you ask me, the only thing good about the Ice Age films is the cute little squirrel-like creature — Scrat. He is the main selling point of the entire franchise. The Ice Age movie trailer function almost as mini Pixar-like short films. Unfortunately, the films have yet to be half as entertaining as the trailers. Tell me what you think in the comments below.

Official Plot Synopsis: Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, to be fully produced in 3-D, is the latest installment to the hit Ice Age franchise, which has grossed more than $1.2 billion around the world. Ice Age 3 will be directed by Oscar-nominated Carlos Saldanha, who directed Ice Age: The Meltdown and co-directed Ice Age. The film is being produced by Academy Award-winning Blue Sky Studios, the creative force behind all the Ice Age films and the upcoming Dr. Suess’ Horton Hears a Who.

  • It'd better be a prequel, the ice age came after the dinosaurs, the name of this movie makes no sense whatsoever. It's like they said "well kids are dumb who care if we fudge a few millenia of history, there's nothing kids love more than dinosaurs!"
  • I was also wondering if this is a prequel. Partly, because at the end of the second movie hadn't scrat "transcended"? Overall funny stuff. I would watch a bunch of shorts of just scrat.

  • funny stuff. This one shouldve def been called Ice Age 3: Scrat
  • Blue Sky Studios keeps getting better and better with their animation, it's almost a treat to see them progress. Ice Age on the other hand is like Heroes, progressively becoming less and less of what it's suppose to be...good. Maybe Bryan Fuller can save this movie as well. (still sad about Pushing Daisies)

    It's a cartoon. It's not an historical account. Who cares if dinosaurs are in it? There are more important things to get bent out of shape over.
  • I love the watching the Ice Age movies with my fams...and I'm def taking my niece to see this...
  • That squirrel is so cute. He almost makes me want to go and see the movie. But I was bored out of my mind when I watched the first one...so I think I'll stay away. I agree they should just have a whole slew of shorts with the squirrel though. Then they can sell them on DVD like Pixar does with theirs.
  • Hilarious trailer; it's just too bad that the only other part I like about these movies besides Scrat is Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo).
  • you're spot on Peter. I remember laughing at the first trailer and then sitting bored shitless through the movie when it came out. Haven't been interested since. I didn't even bother with this trailer.
  • Howdy, if anything, you should definitely check out the trailer. Just don't go see the movie.

    I really wish Fox would just order a series of short films starring Scrat. They could play them before features like old school Warner Bros Looney Toons.

  • normally i would agree that it's just a cartoon who gives a shit, but it is so blantently wrong that it makes me think that they knew it was inaccurate but did it anyway because they thought kids are stupid so it doesn't matter. the apparent indication of what studios think of their audience's intelligence is what bugs me.

    I agree here... was going to say the same thing... If people are so concernend about it, why don't they just start by whining that mammoth and sloth can't talk... it's a good damn cartoon, just get into it and stop bitching.

    Although I actually dó like them: the feature length Ice Age movies aren't as nearly as funny as al those short Scrat-movies alltogether...Couldn't agree more with Peter, and I love these funny small adventures.

    No kidding, right? I guess the whole point of the first movie is null and void being that were pretty sure it was Dinosaurs, then humans. Is this a prequal of sorts???

    What's the rationale for saying that they think kids are stupid?

    When I was kid watching movies like 1,000,000 BC I don't remember being turned off by the fact that there were dinosaurs running around with a scantily clad Raquel Welch. Nor did I think the film-makers were trying to pull the wool over my eyes and trick me into thinking that Cro-Magnon man and dinosaurs co-existed.

    I think it's pretty easy to cast negative remarks from the sidelines when there's no perception of the amount of thought and hard work that goes into making a feature-length film (animated or otherwise).

    I liked it, but it's not a trailer. It's more of a teaser. Basically a short movie about one of the tertiary characters that has nothing to do with the main plot, so not even a teaser.
