Why do the good shows always have to go first? *sheds tear*
  • Jr.Said Monkey
That sucks for bryan fuller another series cancelled right after the second season....
I really enjoyed the character definition of this show...
    Shame on ABC
  • DONKEY HEE-HAW
    masturbate?
  • Kokushi
That sucks, even i didnt watch the show thats crap for the fans, Law & Order started his 19 season and thats strange that a old series still deliver quality tv.
  • Kopaka
This is another reason why they need to look at the Online, Tevo, and DVR viewing rates....I never had time to watch it at night..but I always watched it when I can, every week.

So THE REAL QUESTIONs should be ?? All the wrap ups?? There's too many!!!

    1. Does Emerson Cod find his Daughter?
    2. Does Vivian tell Lily about Chuck?
    3. Does Ned and his brothers find their Father?
    4. Does Chuck reconnect with her real Mother?
    5. Who killed Chuck?
    6. What's with the Watches?

and of course What happens to Ned and Chuck?
  • SHOWTIME, SAVE US! or at least entertain the idea and keep the hope alive.
  • I never really gave this show a chance. However, I am intrigued by a guy that can never really touch the woman he loves. Similar to Rogue of the x-men. On the other hand, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone had to go.
  • wow, i cant believe they cancelled it. good TV is dying
  • haaahhhh
  • get the DVD series
  • there, there it's alright
    *patting you on the back*
  • i thought Eli Stone was an alright show
  • A tear comes to my eye. I just got into this show about a month ago and caught up, and now it's gone... not fair. What will I do with my Wednesday nights now?

Try some good Sex. It always does the trick.....

Knew thsi would happen. It falls int he category of "Too good for network TV"

I'm just happy we got >>2<< seasons (well 1 1/2 i guess) out of it, unlike FREAKS AND GEEK and WONDERFALLS.

Would be nice if someone like HBO would pick it up.

this is my very first comment on slash film

i read this site daily, sometimes hourly

I have never felt the need to comment until now.

This is utterly and horribly heartbreaking

for while I had only seen a couple of episodes of dirty sexy money and eli stone they both had great potential while on the other hand i was completely captivated by pushing daisies.

These three shows, especially "daisies" showed more originality in television and in art in general than i had seen in years. I am deeply saddened by this news, and wonder how i will recover

This cancellation is simply a sign of the times, that if it don't have slutty suburban repetitive "housewives" or utterly ridiculous and completely mind numbingly stupid game shows on your network, this it's not worth a damn

    shame on you abc

and shame on me for believing you had any kind of heart.
  • Wow, this news just killed my Friday buzz what an awful weekend between this news and a lame week at work. -sigh-

Pushing Daisies is my favorite show and I look forward to it every week. It's warm and charming with a good dose of comedy. Bryan Fuller always creates excellents shows, but it seems there are not enough people around to appreciate his talents.

Eli Stone has been an enjoyable surprise and I thought it had potential to stick around, but hey, it's another quirky kind of show, so I should have known better.

These time slots will be probably filled with a brain melting reality show or annoying game show.
  • Im totally not even phased by this. If a show gets axed this early on, it sucks bolas. Sorry folks! Go watch One Tree Hill or something...no I GOT IT...GOSSIP GIRL!!

For real though. Best shows on TV right now are LOST, CSI, FRINGE & HEROES. Theres others worth mentioning but they def are NOT the ones cancelled.

and @ Kip...lets hope so brother, let us hope so.
  • 1. desperate housewives is actually rather quirky itself; give it a chance & you might be surprised... i know i was.
    2. this does suck.
    3. better ratings? better nielson ratings, sure. but, in today's commercial world, what does that really mean? consider the fact that buffy the vampire slayer had mediocre ratings at best, but still stands as one of the most infamous merchandising monsters of all time (with a zealous & loyal cult following). the value of buffy, despite its nielson ratings, far exceeds that of say... desperate housewives. nielson doesn't account for these sorts of phenomenas (which i would argue all of fuller's shows falls under), and because of this, nielson is antiquated. we need a multi-media ratings system which accounts for internet viewings, buzz, dvd sales, merchandising, & cult potential...

whatever, abc can suck my bottom.
  • Are you KIDDING me?! O.O

The show was so warm, witty and wonderful...in turns.

First Dead Like Me...then season one of Heroes, now this. All dead.

    *sigh*
  • Ryan
I knew it was coming and I'm still sad.
    This is sad news.

Can another network pick it up?
I think it would be right at home on Showtime.
  • And so three more decent shows go the way of Jericho.
  • I agree man, I really liked the quirkiness and sweetness of this show, and it sux its gonna get canceled...WTF??? Why IS housewives still on and this got hacked??? O well, R.I.P Pushing Daisies, and I always thought the Anna Friel's "Chuck" character was cute...(sigh)...bye Chuck...
  • Danny
Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money had potential? More originality in television and art in general in years???

Maybe you're not looking in the right places. Try watching Mad Men, Dexter, Californication... or, better yet, go rent The Wire.
  • littledude
Dang really bummed to hear. I liked Pushing Daisies a lot.
  • I also agree... this is a disgusting and shameful act. I usually hate tv. I hardly enjoy anything besides LOST, The Office, and Pushing Daisies because they're smart, enjoyable to watch, and unique. They don't treat me like I'm a blubbering idiot.

This is one of those times when I'm in actual physical pain for something that most people just take for granted nowadays.

This is my first comment on /Film also.

This feels like a punch in the gut. I am deeply saddened to think there will be no more seasons of the most original show I've ever seen. Every episode put a smile on my face and I waited week after week for that smile.

I...have no words...I'm actually very surprised how much this has affected me.
  • I think the problem is the lack of quality content on the networks. Cable generally offers a lot more top notch stuff, but not everybody has access to it.
  • pangloss
i'm sorry guys, but dirty sexy money and pushing daisies, while good concepts, were extremely repetetive with the consequence that they got boring. i loved the first episode of pushing daisies, but the artistic style just got old after awhile... prob would have made a better movie than tv show. dirty sexy money had a lot of problems... it was a great concept never fully realized, possibly because the 'sexy' part had to be so toned down for network tv. the characters also were just not believable and very 2 dimensional. if you want good tv watch mad men, that is how its done. and these shows weren't axed because abc didn't have a heart: the ratings weren't there. abc did what it could by giving them a second season, they just didn't catch on. housewives is still popular though, that is why its still on. pretty simple.
  • Jack Donaghy
Should really just start a /TV site.
  • Sucks for the fans of the series. I could never get into the show. I saw the first episode and thought it was decent, but after that I kept forgetting to catch up with the series.
  • matma
    NOOOOOOOO!
  • J.T. Newton
This is my first comment as well:

I don't even know what to say. I love Pushing Daisies. I think it's amazingly inventive, witty, and beautifully filmed. Watching it always plasters a contented smile on my face. Seriously, the show simply makes me happy. But to hear that it's been cancelled . . . makes me want to cry!

I'm a little confused, though. The HR article seems to imply that next week's episode will be the last one to air. Is that true? If it is, so many plot-lines will be left open-ended (obviously). If the show can't continue, I want it to at least have a decent and satisfying conclusion!

Physical pain from a TV show getting canceled? o.o I mean come on - I was bummed about dirty Sexy Money and My Own Worst Enemy, but its not like I cut off an arm. Daybreak was another good show that got cut down - or better yet, watch Firefly a show so good it warranted a movie, yet got canceled.

I'm pretty sure you all just need to get over it, or at least out a little more, there will be others.
  • Mike
This was a great show, maybe it could have a second life on CW, would fit in well over there.
  • I suppose they'll make a show about housewives with dirty, sexy medical conditions to take it's place.
  • Another unique show bites the dust. I suppose Heroes will be slightly better now? If it's not canceled.
  • Eliza
Noooooooooooo! I am getting so sick of ABC pouring its money into shitty shows like Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. At least it took a little creativity to write Pushing Daisies, unlike the other shows, where they throw 10 writers in a room to see what mind-numbingly idiotic and ridiculous drama they can come up with.
  • Steve
Damn this sucks. Daisies was a truly original show with a fantastic look to it. But though I will sorely miss this show, I cannot really blame ABC for canceling it. As much as I may dislike that shows like Desperate Housewives and American Idol continue to thrive while quirky shows like Pushing Daisies and Arrested Development get canceled, the fact of the matter is that those other shows get better ratings. It would be awesome if networks catered entirely to my tastes but it would not be practical for the networks nor would it be fair to all those who would rather watch whatever it is that people watch these days.

That being said, may everyone involved in this decision be personally violated by the Prince of Darkness for all of eternity.
  • Starbelly
I completely agree with every single thing you just said. I'm absolutely devastated. I really don't watch a lot of tv, and this one of the few shows that I dropped everything to watch. Everything is just so bright and cheerful, and the characters made you love them. It's quirky and unusual and I don't think we'll see its like again.
  • krs
didnt watch dirty sexy money or eli stone but eli stone looks like it would be very bad and i did see pushing daises and not even chi mcbride could save that show from being terrible.. it might be original but original doesnt mean good...............
  • I've never seen the show but it sucks when you get attached to a certain great show and it is taken right from you! They also cancelled a show i found really funny called The Knights Of Prosperity..and i think that deserved better. Anyways, its always sad when a great show gets the axe.
  • Diane
I'm with you about he Knights.. I loved that show.. I wish it had been given more of a chance to succeed
  • I agree with those two. But Pushing Daisies was good, and we need more of that, and of course more ingenuity that made shows like Dexter, Mad Men, etc, etc.
  • supermonkeyninja
Oh my god! It's so good though. It will be missed. :(
  • Mag
    Is 90210 still a Go?
  • Not the least bit surprised. So does this mean Heroes will go back to being good again?
  • J. Luna
    Awesome.
  • very lame. i liked pushing daisies.
  • My exact thoughts, haha. Heroes is so insane right now-- like to the point where you can't ask "why?!" to anything and everything they do. You just gotta look at the ground and sigh.
