That's not what this comic said. It said that after Rick Berman the Star Trek franchise can be reborn again. Unlike George Lucas who managed to kill Star Wars all by himself.

lucas might have messed up the new shit, but the old shit will always be classic. we owe a lot to him, regardless of how mad he has made us in recent times.

Rick Berman is not to Star Trek what George Lucas is to Star Wars.

Gene Rodenberry is Star Trek's George Lucas. And he did die. And it was Rick Berman who took over things afterwards.

So following this comic's logic then, Lucas shouldn't die, because someone like Berman will come along and drive the franchise into the ground.

I don't see that. Just as the original trilogy directly influenced other sci-fi movies of the day.....................seems tons of other space projects are being inspired and borrowing elements from the PT everyday now.

SW's strength has always been in its long term resonance throughout the filmmaking field, both technologically and visually. And lightening did strike twice. Lucas did it again.
