As if we didn’t already have enough stupid spoof comedies… Someone decided to give the Wayans Brothers (White Chicks, Little Man) money to make a spoof movie about competitive dance films like /FilmCast favorite Step Up 2 The Streets. The result, is just as horrible, if not worse, than you might expect.

Watch the trailer in High Definition on Myspace. Dance Flick hits theaters on February 6th 2009.

Man, with an absolutely hilarious trailer such as this, how can I NOT be exited over the Wayan's Bros re-imagining of The Munsters!?
  • Beefy
Wow, look how far the Wayans have come since "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka." I give up.
  • Christopher Marc
Well let's remember the Wayans Brothers were only involved with Scary Movie 1 and 2. Also they had no involvement with those awful parody movies that kept using Scary Movie to promote them. I'll be the first to say I hate parody movies but the Wayans can be funny at times with their material...I wish they had made the Munsters before this one...it doesn't look promising at all...
  • KeanE
I laughed at the "O Black girls" part...but that was it...looked gay.

But it cant be any worse than that spartans movie...
  • I.E. Cooper
Ironically, I found that entertaining. I wouldn't mind watching it after a really stressful day. Doesn't seem to be relying on "Oops, I hit you in the face, oops, that also hit you in the face, watch out! that's about to hit you in the face!" like all the others ones do.
  • Pill
Hold on a second... was that a woman giving birth on a dance floor to a CG fetus that slid out and struck a pose?

I can't decide if this is the shittiest movie of all time, or a genius piece of surreal ART???
  • KRS
really not that bad looking the wayans family makes pretty good parodies....(Im Gonna Git You Sucka,Dont B A Menace, and the first 2 scary movies................at least they stick to one genre and dont just spoof every possible thing they can like epic/disaster/date movie.....
  • Joe
Three jokes there worked for me, I think.

-The guy screaming about "HIS SONG!" in the club
    -"Insemble"
    - ... I got nothing, this looks like crap.
  • Jazzy49
If you thought two jokes were good from just the trailer alone ...then you will want to see the rest of the moive.
  • NIdWId6I8WI
...I kind of want to see this. I mean the first 2 Scary Movie films were pretty funny before the studio hijacked them and started cranking out a new spoof movie every year. They've pretty much turned into the "Now That's What I Call Funny - Vol. Whatever" of movies.

    Sometimes there are no words.

"Doesn’t seem to be relying on “Oops, I hit you in the face, oops, that also hit you in the face, watch out! that’s about to hit you in the face!” like all the others ones do."

Really? I think that happened about 35 seconds into the trailer.
  • hoffamania
    wow... wtf.
  • MOVIE FAIL
  • ultros
I can't believe that I just laughed at the baby in the locker.
  • carmen
i'm amazed at how movies like this can get funding. it's appalling really.
  • Ken
Now that Obama is president, I think his first piece of legislation should ban Marlon and Shaun Wayans from making movies.
  • Jazzy49
For all the poeple Who are hating on the Wayans Brothers you need a hug. These brothers are the funnist brothers in the entertainment!! Alomst every thing they do is Golden. Yeah there are alot of spoofs out there but the ones that they do stay funny, stay making money and stay in your mind. Not to mention their show "in Living Color" introduced us to the best comedians and actors ex: Jim Carey and Jamie Foxx. So again I will say stop hating!!
  • Rasmus
There's nothing I hate more than the trend of spoof movies, and I don't really like the Wayans Brothers either. But I have to admit a few of the scenes in this trailer made me giggle. The guy dancing in the same outfit as the girl was actually a pretty good joke, kinda Simpson-esque.

I don't know if I would watch the movie though, it doesn't seem like it has a lot more to offer than what's already in the trailer.
  • The Wayans brothers definitely had the touch when they did the Scary Movie series and Don't be a Menace. This film, in addition to White Chicks and Little Man, clearly shows they need to work a little bit harder to come up with some creative material.

  • this looks like a spoof of SAVE THE LAST DANCE due to the interracial romance aspect and the black sister who has her own kid, like SAVE THE LAST DANCE.

Ok I actually LOL'd while watching the trailer... it looks so STUPID but uhh I'll watch it for a laugh...
  • Rasmus
... also, all the bad jokes are REALLY bad. Just watched it again.
  • Shimmi
Holy shit, when i pressed play, i didnt expect to sit through even half of that trailer.. but it actually did not look as terrible as i expected it to be. Date Movie/Epic Movie made me give up on this genre for a while.. But this trailer actually got a couple of chuckles outta me.

It could be because i havent seen a single one of those dance movies that this one is poking fun at.
  • E
Amy Sedaris needs to find better comedies. I miss Strangers with Candy.
  • Suess
I think it's saying something about the god-awful shittiness of this spoof trend that THIS trailer can be considered "not as bad as I thought." I found no more than 2 or 3 jokes in that trailer funny, and there were only a few cringe moments. The bar has never been set so low.
  • matthew
man, i despise many of the recent spoof movies (Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie, Superhero movie, etc.) just as much as the next guy but I have to admit....this looks funny. There's nothing wrong with a good slapstick comedy so long as it doesn't reference any random pop culture cliché just for the sake of a joke. But yeah, I laughed at least 3 times during this trailer, and that's way more than most comedy trailers I've seen...including all of the Apatow flicks...
  • 1319
Absolutely horrible. The gag where she hits everyone while she's dancing was played out in Don't be a Menace when he came home and knocked out all of his kids. It's like they're not even thinking anymore. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
  • frank
this looks awesome! i am getting in line tomorrow!
  • Bill
what the fu** these movies are all sh*t.
  • brian
Despite the terrible idea and the tract record of these shit movies, I found this trailer hilarious for some reason.
  • Jack M.
I mean there's no uncalled for pop culture references and there actually sticking to the genre its spoofing.
  • Regulation
    This is amazing. Nuff' said.
  • BicentennialHoosier
...ouch...my bone marrow is disintegrating after that
  • Corey S.
Looks like the type of movie that won't be critically acclaimed but might have it's moments... or it could suck as much as Little Man/White Chicks.

I'm going to assume the latter.
  • Ghost
As much as I hate these kind of films, this looked like it's one of the better ones in the genre. Not saying much but from the trailer alone.
  • MosesMonster
I don't think this is Worst Idea Ever. The Waynes Bros are pretty funny. I think everyone is sore from the lame parody movies that came out, but I chuckled at this trailer. How can you claim an entire movie crap if you haven't seen it yet. Maybe the idea, but until it's out you will never know. There are gems in movies that have terrible trailers.

Besides, we all know what Peter is. Anyone who listened to the slashfilmcast after dark session would know.
  • Nick
    Oh Amy Sedaris, why? WHY?!!

Fucking terrible, but it's telling that the only marginally funny part of the entire thing is Amy's crazy blinking.
  • One thing's for certain: this will be loads funnier than anything Friedberg and Seltzer can come up with...also I'll be the first to point out that the trailer uses the same music as Step Up 2 The Streets.
  • Leviticus
I'm not gonna lie, this looked kindof funny. As someone hinted at before, this movie seems like it's going to be like how old spoof movies used to be, where they stuck to one genre and made a story out of it. Not like all the other spoof movies where they just combined little scenes that spoof pop culture. Spoof movies can be enjoyable if there's a storyline, and it's almost fun to try and pick out which movies they are spoofing. It makes you feel like a better movie fan when you can recognize the movie. But spoof movies like Epic/Date/Disaster Movie are horrible.
  • EPIC fail.
  • Adam
Hey- I just remembered something weird.

Marlon Wayans was in Requiem for a Dream, and did a really good job. Why can't he be in real movies?
  • Dude, ordinarily I'd be the first to knock this or any Wayan's project.

But this looks legitimately funny. Seriously, this is NO WHERE NEAR as bad as Disaster Movie.

This looks more like Superhero Movie, where it has some potential to be funny.
  • Q
    Most assuredly worst idea ever.
  • rorschach
Wow, it broke my heart seeing Amy Sedaris in that awful awful movie.
  • Aaron
Sad, but at least it looked better than anything in the "Epic Movie" series.
  • bnitro
Woah that seriously looked like garbage. I didn't laugh once.
  • sideshowRaheem
Unbelievably, that didn't look to bad. "Little Man" and "White Women" aside the Wayans Family have an okay track record the first 2 Scary Movie flicks were good so was Don't be a Menace While Drinking your Juice in the Hood and I'm Gonna Get You Sucker also don't forget In Living Color. So they do have a history in churning out decent spoof movies. This wont be the best comedy of the year but it looks watchable.
  • Emma
I think it's because I'm a dancer, but this looks genuinely funny to see with some friends after a long week. I am totally in.
  • Ashwilliams
    Awesome...NOT!
  • Bigby Wolf
It took 4 Wayans to write that.
And the part where the black guy pretends to not know the white person as other black people walk by....yeah. Ive actually been in that exact situation. Racism committed by those too ignorant to know theyre being racist is just goddamn hilarious. Aint it? Aint it?!
