Sneak Peek: The Seventh Season of 24

THR got their hands on a two and a half minute trailer for the new season of 24. No, this is not a trailer for the November 23rd television movie. This is a trailer that will air at the conclusion of that TV movie, a sneak peek at next year’s series which features Jack Bauer in Washington DC. I use to be a huge 24 fan, but last season really disappointed me. Check out the new trailer below, and tell me what you think in the comments. Will 24 return from the suckage of last season?

After the 5th or 6th episode of last season I stopped. This looks sorta interesting. Can someone sum up last season?

I was extremely disappointed with the last season. To think I chose 24 over Heroes. What a mistake.

However, the upcoming season looks promising. Chloe = Stay-at-home Mom. CLASSIC!

Um...isn't a lot of what's in this trailer from the trailer we saw before the writers strike? I'm confused as to what's new and what isn't since I thought they were re-doing everything after the strike.

    Nice choice of picture Peter.
  • Yeaaah boy!...Jack's back! After this season or the next? They should do the movie.
  • Kee
Take down the main pic at the top of the article, it's severely spoilerish for people who aren't up to date with some seasons or don't know the plot of s7.

I have to say, I was very discouraged after last season. But it looks like they got their stuff together for this one.

I'll be there, and I'll be glued.
  • Retroqqq
so what happens after, do they kiss each other?
  • I was disappointed with the last two seasons but I am currently optimistic. How could I not be? Tony is back... and the villain. The ever entertaining Jon Voight joins the cast (just the fact that he fathered Angelina Jolie earns my attention). Then you have Chloe taking on a much needed more prominent role apparently.

    I'm excited.

How is Tony back? Lemme guess they are going to bring back Michelle as well? They were just "body doubles"? I love 24, last season was weak but the ending was phenominal, and it should of just ended there. This season looks like ie will have more promise and stoy than last year. Plus it has Tony "The Candyman" Todd.

    @Joshi

yeah this is the same trailer from last year. I'm not sure if anything is changing tho.
  • The word from people who've seen the movie has been positive. I'd have to catch up as I stopped watching last season or the one before. Just got too samey for me.
  • Brian
Not the same trailer, but very similar. We didn't see as much action as we did on this one, nor as much Voight, or Jack and Tony in the interrogation room (kind of big spoiler, not happy about that one).

Last season was kind of entertaining if you managed to stick it out, but the ending was kind of.... whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa????? If you want a summary, just go to Wikipedia, they do an ok job of summing it up.

Even with a less than stellar season 2 years ago, 24 is still better than most of the stuff on network tv (Heroes, any reality tv, especially dancing with the stars) and even if the storyline doesnt make that much sense, Jack being Jack is good enough for me. JACK IS BACK!!!
  • Eric R.
All I know is after two years...TWO YEARS!! you would think they could get a decent script together. I just hope they deliver. Also, the idea of a two hour movie prior to the opening season is absoutely STUPID, only a man with an IQ equal to that of Geroge Bush would come up with that!
  • Nathanael B.
The beginning of this trailer is the same as the previous season 7 trailer, but after that there's a lot of new material (especially all of the Africa stuff).
I'll agree that seasons 5 and 6 were not as good as seasons past, but I still enjoyed them. And this is looking quite good... I'm psyched for January.

@Eric: Absolutely stupid... why? I think the idea of a prequel movie is great, especially since it's been an entire year without any 24. The trailer for 'Redemption' looks pretty intense; I'm definitely looking forward to it.
  • This trailer looks promising. I stuck through Season 6 and at most it was okay. This looks better.
  • The Second
    I used to LOVE 24.

It was a television event for me. In my mind, it never got any better than season 5. To go from what I considered to be the best season to the absolute garbage that was season 6 was even more astounding than Tony coming back from the dead. I literally cheered when Tony died because his character was annoying and pointless, Michelle too for that matter. Let's not forget, she miraculously survived being exposed in a toxic building.

Tony and Michelle aside, Jack has lost his edge and it just isn't exciting anymore.

Bring Edgar back from the dead and you've got a single episode to convince me to watch again.

i always wait for the dvd's at the end of the season, because i can't handle the stress the show keeps me in til the next week! i didn't mind last season at all, & i'd say bauer would neuter both craig's bond & damon's bourne.

dammit we are living through some good tv these days!

Trailer looks ok. Last season was so horrible. They are really going to have to do something new.
I am curious how they bring Tony back. Wasn't he injected with something to kill him.
  • SwimOdin
This isn't a new trailer. This is the exact same thing they showed in late 2007. About 11 episodes were filmed before the writers strike.
  • Nathanael B.
@SwimOdin: I'm almost positive it's not. The old trailer (I think this is it -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehnDsxtM03o) was about half as long and didn't have any of the Africa-related stuff. It was mostly about Jack's "trial" and Tony coming back.
