Wow Ron Howard never ceases to amaze me :)
    The man is a legend.
  • danno
    Neato!
  • Brian
Man! That is so awesome. I've been hoping they'd do some kind of reboot of Ron's old stuff, just for a short skit like that...for fun. Too bad it's political, but it's still awesome.
  • Mike
I'm a McCain supporter, but I admire Ron for doing this the right way...you know, not making an ass of himself like most of Hollywood does when they talk about politics.
  • Brian
Ok not trying to get political on here but why the hell are you a McCain supporter?
I honestly cannot comprehend the low mentality of a Republican supporter in this day in age.

Rep: Give me oil, fight and die for oil, don't fight terrorism, let them bomb us, screw economy over, make us pay more for taxes and gas.

    Dem: the complete opposite.

    wtf?
  • Mike
I don't have to explain myself to you and I really don't need you judging me or making those kinds of wrong statements toward me when I said nothing except I was a supporter of McCain. I could go on and on about why, but this isn't the place for it and I'm not going to. Not that I have to explain myself anyway.
  • whatever
This was classic. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay much better way asking people to vote than the usual holier than thou method employed by other celebs.
  • Gazelle
This is so sad! Opie and Andy have fallen off the moral bandwagon.
  • AlbertBrodsky
It was about 26 years ago when I was Fonzie for Halloween. Awesome. I really figured Andy Griffith to be a McCain supporter.
  • junior
always good to see the Fonz.
  • THAT was GREAT!
  • Andy
This was an actual thrill to see these guys suit up in the Happy Days gear... and you know, honestly, for it being like 30 years later, they still look damn good.

NOW...the big hope is that it just stays right here. Listen Hollywood, don't even begin to think...

'Boy, you know what we need is a 'Happy Days Next Gen' movie. Reboot the 'franchise'. I'm thinking they pass the torch to Seth Rogen.'

    GAH

    Obama / McCain
    Ether way were screwed.

Funny this happins like every 4 years.
  • I liked that a lot better than the old "You're all so dumb, we're so much better" type ads. I do plan to vote my conscious- Bob Barr. We no longer need a two party system and these clowns prove it beyond the shadow of a doubt.

I'm writting in "Ron Paul". He's the only honest politician left.

Its looking pretty clear that obamanation is going to win.
I fear for our Gun rights, and sovereignty. ( Biden's the d-bag that came up with the Assault weapon ban back in the 80's ). He's gonna be VP. Scary....

Don't be fooled ppl. NObama is totally controlled by outside forces. So is Old Mcdonald. The system is rigged and we've all been duped by Corporate media.... The nwo is approaching.

Write in your vote: Ron Paul.
  • I wish Ross Perot would come back.

    Is he even still alive?

Ross Perot, Ron Paul = Paul Revere,,,

We live in a gifted timeline...

    Things will change,,,
  • Clive Staples
    @ 790

Sounds like you buy in to some pretty crazy conspiracy theories. I'd like to hear your specific definitions of "outside forces," "the system," and "nwo."

Why do people love Ron Paul so much? He's against abortion. He has the markings of a religious nut. He thinks secularism is a "war against religion, chipping away bit by bit at our nation’s Christian heritage." There are so many things wrong with that statement it's laughable. He thinks evolution is "just a theory" and doesn't think that scientific questions should carry much weight when we decide who should run for the position of leader of the free world.

I'm really puzzled why some apparent liberals think Obama is not much different than McCain. Maybe they've been so (understandably) disillusioned by politics in the past that they cannot help but see corruption where they want to see it, or they need to have something to rail against, or are simply too stuck in their pessimism to think we could actually have a capable president. So the two major party nominees are always puppets, but the third party candidates are so radically different that you will only ever vote for them?

Regardless of your conviction, either Obama or McCain will be the next president. There's a huge difference between the two, so think carefully before you vote. It's not the lesser of two evils, it's voting for a candidate that will bring the probability of least harm and greatest common good.

    @clive,,,
I have to ask where you get your information. from.???

If you do the homework (I'm not gonna do it for you) you will see that the dems and repubs are two masks on the same face.
    Your ignorance annoys me...
Conspiracy theories yeah right,,, most ppl I meet can't handle the fact that there government is screwing them.
Some Psychologists call it a "battered step child syndrome).....
  • Clive Staples
I agree that our government screws us in many ways, constantly. It's just that your comments seemed to have the air of someone who has seen Zeitgeist and didn't follow it up with the proper amount of skepticism.

The institutions are corrupt, but there is not a group of twenty people who sit around in a room and decide how best to run the world so that they can stay on top and everyone else remains under their foot. There are infinite complexities involved.

That said, I think the best we can do is cast a reasonable vote in a very important election. Outside of election year, we try to work from the ground up to change some of the less desirable qualities of our system. I really hope one day we can have an 8-party system, or a 30-party system. But that won't happen on election day, that will happen in any number of four-year intervals between election days.

We have to work both within and without the system in order to change it for the better. You and I might share the same deep pessimism about the ills of America, but we'll have to choose whether the next step is to complain or to act.
  • 790
I agree we have to act,,,

That said,,, your (Clive Staples) totally wrong about the fact that a small grp "don't" control the entire shabang...
    ^
Let's call them the Hidden Hand, they're an elite group of ultra rich people that have so much power they control the biggest companies on Earth, and also have blood ties to ancient royalty,,, ^
Google,,, (Bilderburg group/ Nwo) or (liquid conspiracy b/ George Piccard)
