The Flash Teaser Trailer is NOT Real

A new video has begun to circulate the internet, claiming to be the teaser trailer for Warner Bros’ big screen adaptation of The Flash. According to the guy who posted the trailer on YouTube “On Thursday October 16, 2008 there was a special advanced screening of The Watchmen in Portland, Oregon. This trailer ran before the screening.” Problem is, none of the reports claim a Flash trailer was shown before the Watchmen screening. There was heavy security at the screening, so even if there was a secret trailer, it is extremely unlikely that someone would have been able to sneak a camera in to record it. In fact, as far as we know, no footage for a big screen Flash movie has been shot. And as recently at the Scream Awards, producer Charles Roven admitted that the project hasn’t had much forward momentum in the last few months. So to be completely clear - this is a fan created trailer. It is not real. Now that I’ve made that clear, watch the trailer below.

Someone posted this trailer in the Watchmen test screening comment thread last night. I deleted the comment before I had a chance to look at the video. So I apologize for not remembering the name, but credit goes to whomever posted it.

makes me so sad thats its not real :(
  • Dan
I dont know if this trailer is real or not but I just saw a movie poster for it yesterday at the theater! So Im pretty sure there making one!
  • StarBlazer101
Seriously, who the hell would fall for that?
  • south texas terror
easy to tell that its fan made, there was nothing to tease just a red line.
  • IronMatt
Really makes you wish DC would get their shit together.
  • Captain Awesome
I could have told you that wasn't official.

But still, I want a big budget Flash movie. Bring it DC.
  • Seth
While I'm not a fan of the Flash nor am I interested in seeing a movie about him, I have to say that I'm impressed with how they made it look like it was filmed like a bootleg.

I wonder how they pulled that effect off - maybe they filmed their own HDTV and just added the sound effects of a theater audience?
  • Alan Geiss
dude how did they make it seem it was at a theater, i mean the trailer didn't look legit but it looked real when they're showing it at an actual theater, someone please explain?
  • Bobby
Marvel would be shooting this movie by now. Stop dragging you heels DC.
  • Cmon, the effects in Heroes look way better.
  • @ Alan Geiss

Someone probably made it for a film project at a college, those are almost always shown in theaters, especially those that are top notch, like that one. The Flash is my favorite superhero and if that had been real, I would've been extremely excited...such a damn shame.
  • Steelo
If Wally West looked like that I'd drive to Warners and bitch slap someone.
  • Hendo
@Steelo if he looked like that? like what exactly? You could only see his foot lol and the foot matched the costume
  • charles
That was one hell of a fan made trailer. I have to admit it was wonderlful, wonderful.
  • Damn, all most got us.
  • Mostskillz
Obvious that it was fan made but still pretty good nonetheless.
  • prophecy_projectz
That was actually pretty good for a fake. I like the fact he made it look like it was in a jam packed theater
  • Palmer
Fail for not just being a fake, but for also not choosing Barry Allen as their fake movie Flash.
  • yo yo ma
He might have just projected it on his home theater system. You don't actually see anyone sitting in front of the camera. It's a novel idea. The biggest point that gave it away was the voice of the news announcer. He sounded awfully phony/amateur. Pretty impressive though.
  • Alan Geiss
dude thats probobly the best fan made trailer ever
  • Patrick O'Riley
    @ VTchina

actually, considering this is fan made, it's sad that they don't
  • Perry
Damn. Whoever did that should be hired as a fake movie trailer maker. That was impressive. There's a pretty big part of me that won't believe that it's a fake.
  • Nick
    umm

theres a second angle of it....Im pretty sure it may be the real deal.
  • Thankyoufor
im so glad thats not real cause it looks like crap
  • I've seen snuff films with better production values.
  • Agent J
I've seen guys named Nathan with better opinions.
  • frank
really? not real? (thanks for the news Flash)
  • AlbertBrodsky
The voice in the beginning was awful. That was lame. Shame on you who think this is awesome.

That said, it was a decent attempt considering it was by a fan.
  • Gotta give the guy credit for a good fake.

This is some Loch Ness monster photo quality fakery. Guy must know somebody who works at a theater who allowed him to project the false trailer, adding greatly to it's legitimacy.

I too, am sad it's not real. Even if it is mediocre, it still gave me that good ol' geek chill I get the first time I watch a comic book movie trailer.

    Oh well.
  • greycolumbus
It's definitely B-Grade but damn the concept is great.
  • Ok...I dont get how thats fake...Sure the effects looked shotty but the rest was real enough to me...
  • Finally watched this. How could anyone believe that was real?
  • Old and Jaded
I'm actually starting to get sick of comic book movies. No,just fan films!!!!!!!!
