I may get castrated for saying this, but I don't think the footage for this movie looks THAT bad. Maybe I just haven't seen the horrid scenes everyone else has. Honestly I can't say that I am overly excited for this movie, but It doesn't look horrible.
  • It looks like the "showgirls" of comic book films. ...and to me that means it will be fucking awesome.

So bad its good is my favorite type of film. I'll be first in line.

It was just the first real trailer the teaser was ok. the first trailer look like a diamond ad or something. The 2nd one was way better.

WOW! This movie looks really...lame still.

Franks storyboards look awesome. I hear he's publishing them when the flick comes out.
  • Good stuff, can not wait!
  • The new trailer def looks better than the first, I am still on board for this flick I think...

Well, that was way better than the other things I have seen for The Spirit. After this, I have gone from, "Hell no. This shit looks like a Sin City afterbirth", to " Maybe".

For attempting an informative featurette about The Spirit and Will Eisner, I think they could have gone into a little more depth than just "he's responsible for creating the graphic novel".

Did the Spirit have healing properties in the comic? I always thought he had no superpowers, but faked his death. Criminals thought he was a spirit because he was supposed to be dead.

i like the look of the film.
many fans of the comic hated the color scheme that they chose
and this is just Miller trying to do better with what it should have looked like.
the red tie is strange though.
  • it's weird frank miller didn't want anyone to touch THE SPIRIT because i wanted anyone else OTHER than frank miller to make this movie. i'm still so bitter that we'll never see brad bird's vision of this come to the screen.

Seriously; Frank Miller has done great film work with his comics but when it comes to "The Spirit" it is not as black and white (pun intended) as it is appearing. The Spirit, though a hard working detective who works the beat, isn't a just a crime fighter- he's also a cocky son of bitch and a lame-ass. Eisner's comics show this and Miller is simply going his own route and vision with it. Don't be fooled by this movie just as the first three Batman movies didn't entirely capture the essence of the Batman.

Honestly, the movie would look decent if it didn't have Samuel Jackson in it. He just seems completely out of place and/or a horrible character.

this film is gonna be so much fun to watch i cant wait

all the Miller haters are gonna have to eat their words

if you look at the way frank built up the universe from what you can see in the trailer... this movie is going to fail epicly. Samuel L. Jackson looks ridiculus and too funny in with the make-up and those costumes.
