First Look: Til Schweiger in Inglourious Basterds

Belga.de has a first look at Til Schweiger in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. In the film Schweiger plays a bloodthirsty maniac named Hugo Stiglitz, an ex-German-soldier, who is recruited to join Lt Aldo Raine’s (Brad Pitt) squad of Nazi-killing Jews. Hugo Stiglitz is also a name of a Mexican actor who was a big star in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

    I can't say how happy I am that Til Schweiger was cast in Inglourious Basterds. His look & voice, his whole persona translates fantastically on screen IMO. I'm kind of surprised he didn't go on to bigger and better things after SLC Punk!

    I hope Tarantino gives him a juicy role.

  • Hell yeah. Til Schweiger is THE MAN. good to see a fellow German be involved in a Tarantino film. gives you hope, you know? cant wait. glad he's not a generic nazi, typecasted as the german actor they know and can use. then again, Tarantino is not a fool. cant wait.

    The Film-Nerds over here in germany aren't that excited about Schweiger as you are.
    In fact, most of Schweigers Movies sucked big time and remember, he was in Bolls last Videogame-Rape FarCry.
    But may be Tarantino can turn him into a good actor, who knows..
