New Twilight Movie Trailer

The final trailer for Twilight has leaked onto YouTube. I’ve pretty much given up all hope on this film, but I’m sure there are a few teenage girl readers who might be interested. As always, tell me what you think in the comments below!

Official Plot Synopsis: TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn’t expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she’s ever met. Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands – and he hasn’t aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he’s immortal. But he doesn’t have fangs, and he doesn’t drink human blood; Edward and his family are unique among vampires in their lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for – a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens’ mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her?

ABOUT TWILIGHT: Based on the current #1 New York Times Bestselling series (30 weeks and counting) with over 7.5 million books in print by Stephenie Meyer, TWILIGHT is a cultural phenomenon, with a dedicated fanbase that eagerly awaits this movie. There are over 100 fan sites devoted to Twilight, and it has been chosen as the New York Times Editor’s Choice, a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year, Amazon’s “Best Book of the Decade…So Far”, Teen People’s “Hot List” Pick, The American Library Association’s “Top Ten Best Book for Young Adults” and “Top Ten Books for Reluctant Readers” and has been translated into 20 languages. Critically acclaimed director Catherine Hardwicke brings to life this modern, visual, and visceral Romeo & Juliet story of the ultimate forbidden love affair – between vampire and mortal.

Twilight hits theaters on November 21st 2008.

  • Not great, but definitely an improvement over the other stuff. Still looks hokey though.
  • Rudin
Anyone else notice how both vampires have reflections in the mirror? D:
  • EM
    lol that was fast /film!

love twilight, tho it is a bit corny. Um... trailer is actually a mark improvement then the last two. Pretty okay, Roberts accent is a little strange in some parts, but overall not bad.

I'm just watching for kristen stewart, I'm sure she'll give a good performance.
  • ANGRY BROOMSTICK!!!
this is a VAMPIRE movie?? I can't even tell. I thought it was soem stupid high school romantic movie.
  • This is definitely better than the previous trailers, but it still doesn't deserve all that hype. Also, why is Kristen Stewart considered a good actress, god that performance looks horrible!
  • greycolumbus
I hate how this trailer gives away the synopsis. I know the difference between a teaser and a trailer but I feel as though this sort of gives away a lot of probably big scenes.

    Movie looks like shit, though.
  • Agent J
Meh. This doesn't look too promising.
  • emily
    omgomgomg YES.
  • YoungZe
Still like rotten piece of dogshit. Already told a friend of mine who is a Twilight fan not to watch this. She didn't believe me, watched the trailer said with a dead-like face that i was right.
  • BATGIRL
    hmmm...

    no.
    movie bad.
  • Jazzi
    OH MY GOD
    AWESOME!!!!!
  • Christopher Marc
High School Musical 4? because Vampires die in sunlight...I still see this as only for the die hard book fans....this won't attract anyone who actually enjoys watching movies...or people who have no idea what Twilight is...this should have been a television series not a film because it already looks like a cheap WB show..Smallvile looks high end compared to this horrible production
  • zinkywinks
    Shiiiiiiiiiiiity

    Borrrrrrrring
  • Jessie
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVED IT!
I can not WAIT till Nov. 21st!
    1 month & 2 days! Woo Hoo!

    p.s.
I am not a teenage girl I am an adult woman and I STILL think it is fabulous!
  • rebecca
you guys that just said this movie was going to be shit are all dumbshits! you guys have no idea how good this movie is going to be so why even watch this if its wasting your time. clearly you have no life.
  • spoilerkid
    yea i agree
  • AMAZING....All these people talking about how the movie is going to suck and the poor production value. The trailer didn't look any different than most of the movies being produced out now. Also, just because you have a big flashy trailer doesn't mean the movie is going to be any good. It's just an example of how people automatically jump on the hater bandwagon. Someone says I don't like it and you have to be drone and say it too. This movie will appeal to anyone who enjoys teen movies, vampires, anything out of the norm, etc. You don't have to be a fan of the books to go see this movie. Now I watch out a lot of movies and see a lot of trailers and I really did not see much difference. Open your mind a little or simple just don't go see it.
  • Christopher Marc
    @rebecca

clearly you have a bias towards people who dislike anything Twilight...it's not hard to spot out a defensive fan...but just to let you know this isn't a book blog...people here watch a lot of movies and can tell what a bad one looks like....most likely the same way you can tell from reading the first few chapters of a really bad book....we're voicing our opinions on this trailer...just like we did with the teaser...the marketing team or the editor should be fired if you end up being right...because as it stands it looks like bad TV movie...can you at least admit the production value looks awful for this film since it's based on a best selling novel...I loath the Harry Potter films but I also give them credit for the production value and effort put into the movies...

I'm sure this won't be the first Twilight fan trying to defend this only on the basis it's a Twilight project...
  • Mrs.Cullen
omg!! i almost cryed when i saw this!!!!! i wont to see the movie even more now!!!
  • spoilerkid
oh well im notinto these movies im just a 14 year old kid that lost his virginity wen he was 13 wit the same girl hes with ahhhuuu my lifes cool i dont need any of these movies
  • Tina
Love it! And I don't know why you guys keep saying it looks bad? you're obviously not the intended audience, but to some people (aka people who've read the books) it looks awesome!
  • spoilerkid
I think that movie fits most of the girls kuz almost all the girls that i kno read that book it might be a bad movie to some but thats only a trailer u shuld wait till the whole film nd my girl frend reads it she mostly prefers that sometimes than having sex so it must be good......
  • Meli
Hm, I'm not all that crazy about the opening music and some of the cuts weren't so great, but all around it's an improvement on the previous two trailers. I have to say I hope Kristen Stewart doesn't sound like that through the entire movie because her monotone voice is a little grating in the trailer. I think it's going to be a decent movie for those who are fans of the book and a few who aren't. I like the additions that appear to have been added and will probably tell the story in a more fluid fashion.
  • GregoryV
The new trailer pretty much sums up the entire film.
  • Jess
I loved it!!! I cannot wait to see the movie!! I just wish I didn't have to wait over a month! Rob is gorgeous!!! And to those who said that Kristen is not a good actress, I think she is awesome! Anyone see "Into the Wild"? Even though she only had a small role, she did an awesome job. Anyway, November 21st, get here already!!
  • Meh. Definitely an improvement from the other trailers,
but that's not saying much. Because of the first trailers, Twilight
has become a sort of punch line.
I'm just not a fan of Twilight...at all. And I AM a sixteen year old girl - the intended demographic. In my defense, I tried reading
the first in the series, but I found it too dull and melodramatic for my tastes.

Who knows? If I hear that it's a genuinely good film, I'll give it a shot. Until then, I'll stick with Harry Potter.
  • Katie
The film looks awesome and Rob has a huge amount of charisma and screen presence. Very happy.
  • carolyn
Looked good to me. That kiss was to die for.
  • DarDar
yes you really have to have read the books to appreciate the movie. If you will go see the movie, it will explain why this is a different kind of Vampire. No fangs, no burning up in the sun, but still blood drinkers. A very sexy movie I think it's going to be. At least the books were. I can't wait to see the movie.
  • I agree with everyone who said this looks like a CW series. It looks like Buffy but without a lot of the funny charm.
  • Hmm, Not so sure about this movie.
As someone who read Twilight the year in 2005, and has been a NORMAL fan since then. I'm a die hard twilight fan and I live by the book, so when I heard it was becoming a movie. I wasn't at all happy. The casting isn't what I pictured ]: but thus is Hollywood. This trailer makes it look good, I'll just have to see.
  • jank
so far all the positive comment have only been by females...
that right there should be enough of an indication as to what kind of audience this movie is targeted towards.

everyone else, including myself, tends to think this movie looks bad.
    on so many levels.
  • Natasha
I thought the trailer was beautifully made, actually.
I especially love the music used.
I find it comical that anything involving high schoolers and supernatural together is automatically assumed as being 'tv-show worthy'.

May I offer the smallest bit of advice? Wait until the movie comes out to judge it.
  • Leah
FYI: Vampires in Stephenie Meyer's world have reflections in mirrors and aren't allergic to the sun. Fine by me. Movie looks good!
  • ali
i actually love the trailer. its waaaay better then the previous two, thats for sure. i think the film looks good. looks like a fun film just in time for the holidays. can't wait!
  • TheMarquis
You don't need to be the intended audience to notice poor production values. Clearly, in movies, there is a separation of FORM and CONTENT. I think everyone can agree that 300 and Sin City and Harry Potter all have very unique and well thought out FORM, all of which speak nothing of their CONTENT. When one can tell by watching only the trailer that the wire-work in the movie is horrid, then one has the right to point out bad FORM, regardless of who the target audiences are.

Similar points go to PLOT and ACTING. The PLOT that is so beloved in the book can easily be ruined by bad ACTING (see The Golden Compass). The PLOT is only hinted at in this trailer, yet it's clear to see from the few clips of actors ACTING, that the performances have been set a low bar.

Saying nothing of the story, for which Twilight lovers are glad to have in text, this movie, based on its production values, looks to not have excellent footing.
  • Joe
    @Leah:
So, they're basically either not actually vampires or complete abortions of the original idea?

Terrible books, terrible movies, terrible pop culture phenomenon, terrible everything.
  • It is funny to note that out of all the comments I've read, anyone that defends the film, or says that they have to watch it, has a female name. Interesting.

Personally this is the best trailer of the lot that have been released, but I will still avoid this movie like the plague. Or like I would a vampire.
  • spoilerkid
ll give the movie a chance ill go to the t heatres wit my girl
  • Okay...every guy here is dumb...If only girls are saying positive things about the movie, who will be in the theater? Girls! What are guys attracted to? GIRLS! If us guys see the movies, we look like saints to the girls. They will have sex with us!
  • Tiffany
The books were AWESOME!!! A huge addiction that I couldn't seem to get over!! Can't wait for the movie to come out. LOVE IT!
  • Rosario
It looks promising. I never touched a Twilight book so I dont know what to expect. Does look a little CWish but its not as bad as everyone is saying. The people obviously saying they love this movie are the people that read the books, which is fine, but for the rest of us who didnt read the books, we are going off the trailers. Which up to now have sucked. And you base a movie off the trailers and the plot. I shouldnt have to read a book to make me want to see the movie. Im probably not in their wanted demographic.

Hey Peter, I would be scared for when this does come out and you guys put a up the what did you think article about this. Should be "interesting".
  • spoilerkid
ahahaha i like his plan but i think the movie is gonna be alright besides man if u want to critiscize the movie by only watching the trailer then u guys are scandolous nd like its a romance us guys r only critiscizing it kuz its a romance just let the girls get excited over this film like we akt the same with iron man nd transformers nd iron man nd all those films just dont critiscize the film just leave it as is
  • i agree with whom ever said this trailer was targeted at a specific group of people. if youve never read the books or better yet never even seen cover of one of the books this is just not for you. but dont judge this book before you have read its a great series. and for those of you who have read it
    THAT WAS F***** AWESOME!
  • kjell
    This looks incredibly stupid
  • Rachel
So, I too think the movie looks a little on the silly side, but I will watch it because I LOVED the books and the story is actually pretty great. I'm still peeved that Harry Potter is not coming out in Nov., but that's another story.
  • Helena Mainbasquet
Oh dear. Was expecting so much better from all the hype.

No style. No originality. Another Wal-Mart bargain bin DVD coming right up.
  • krackajap
It is just stunning how many responses any article about this movie gets.
  • Mikey M
This will play well with 16 year old girls who want to be in love. I listened to the audio book. Not even as interesting as Buffy and Angel.
  • Tobi
I really liked all of the books but....i'm on the edge about the movie...leaning more towards the suck...
