If you’ve read the script, admit it: you’re friggin’ giddy over a farmhouse photo. The beauty of Tarantino is that the man is a perfectionist, a mad hatter for realizing violent fairy tales that make reality his gimpy bitch. The Quentin Tarantino Archives has the first shots of the newly constructed French farmhouse that will open Inglorious Bastards in a soon-to-be-classic and nail-biting fashion. The window on the far right will presumably frame and foreshadow a showdown between the female main character and the Jew Hunter. Smell the glove!

Apparently the title’s spelling is not changing: Inglourious Basterds it is. We feel for the theater employees who have to add a “[sic]” to the marquee.

    I just got chills.

soon-to-be-classic? this movie is already way too over-hyped
  • Christopher Marc
nice, the boarded up windows are a nice touch ....I'm very stoked because we're going to get a ton of these, cause the press is insane in Europe...
  • Exactly how I imagined it :D I dind't read past the first part though... didnt want the whole movie spoiled
  • blah
Tarantino sucks and this movie will suck
  • Christopher Marc
    @blah

what a lazy comment you didn't even state why this movie and Tarantino suck...
  • Pat
I just started the script and the farmhouse is just as I pictured it.
  • That's a lot of hype for something I see every couple km the highway near my house.
  • Champcheyne
Where can I get the script so I can read it and be just as amazed?
  • krs
    BLAH...... YOU SUCK.........
  • edc
    wow.. a house.

    is this some property website?
  • muffin
I guess a lot of you didn't take note that this picture will only be awesome to you IF YOU READ THE SCRIPT.
Without spoiling anything, I will just say that some awesome shit goes down in that farmhouse that sets a big part of the story in motion. That is why we are stoked. Because it looks exactly as it was described in the screenplay and when we look at it, we think back to the bad-assness of that scene.
    @Thomas,
After reading the scene in the screenplay, I for one believe that scene could become classic in the same way that the diner scene in pulp fiction became classic.
  • ANGRY BROOMSTICK
you're setting up this movie to be a disappointment. Don't over-hype it, ok?
  • Lars
    SPOILER:

Is it just me, or does the Landa (Jew Hunter) character do a complete about face for no reason in the screenplay. He goes from being the Jew Hunter to selling out to the allies with no indication whatsoever. Seemed sloppy to me.
  • Captain Awesome
Where's my fucking uncut Kill Bill and Grindhouse dvd sets?!?!

    >:(
  • Seth
Where can I get my hands on the script?
  • Great, that's a huge spoiler alert...now we all know that something goes down in the farm house.
  • Mitch
I am also wondering where I can get a copy of the script? Can someone link me to a copy floating around the web?
  • Lyhue
Tarantino, are you going to attempt a Fulci film remake next?
When you bite off more than you can chew... try not to choke on a bone.
BTW, casting your jewboy protege Eli Roth in the film kinda made my dick go limp.
Its okay to kiss the old Italian Masters' asses, but don't be another Rob Zombie and attempt to remake the classics. IMO of course.
  • muffin
Check thepiratebay for a copy of the script.

    @lyhue,
Dude...harsh. Seems like you really want to see Tarantino fail. I guess it's a great shame to you that it hasn't happened yet. All of his films so far have been pitch perfect for his target audiences so far. Seems to me like he will have no problem chewing this one too.
And what's with the "Jew Boy" comment. Eli Roth seems like a great choice for that role. We will see when the film is released.
  • Jackson
Just google "inglorious bastards script" You will find it within the first few pages.

It was a very good script, I can see real potential. The only casting choice that I had trouble picturing while reading it was Sam Levine. Not to say he won't be good, he just doesn't seem like the right type to play that character.

Knowing Hunter, we will see every tiny picture and and bit of worthless news about this movie, so stay away if you don't want to be burned out on it months before the release date.

    back @muffin,
No, no. I don't wish anyone to fail, let alone a capable director such as Mr. Tarantino. I personally love the guy for bringing us the gem "Four Rooms". A brilliant black comedy worth watching multiple times at least.
I just get weird about remakes of cult classics. Its touchy territory. Very few come close to succeeding in that realm.
One benefit of this phenomena however is that new, younger audiences will be made aware of the original, more obscure (perhaps) film.
Okay. I rescind the previous remark about Eli Roth- its a bit rough and anti-semetic :( I know you Tarantino fans like harsh realism, so hopfully I didn't offend anyone. Still I am of the opinion that he is a lousy casting choice. I am not a fan of his directorial work. He has an air of narcissism and self-absorbtion that is undue and tacky. Its as if the Bastard popped out of nowhere one day and proclaims to be a master at what he does. (Rants LOL)
Im sure I will check out the film eventually nonetheless.

This sight has too many adds on it, lol. The far right edge of our commentary is cropped !!!
  • YEA awesome house!!!!!!!!!!!!
