Why is this just blu ray?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
  • Josh
    DVD's are obsolete technology

    lol
  • Landon VanBuskirk
I bet the regular dvd will be just the same minus Blu-ness and possible the bat-pod.
  • FilmFreak
    Nice Joker art
    with the writings everywhere
    gives it a nice touch
  • A Better Class of Criminal
I'm just a tiny little bit dissapointed they didn't have the "Burning Bat-Symbol" poster as the front cover of the case.

Oh, well. You can't have everything.

Love the Joker art by the way... Is that on the inside cover or the outside cover?
  • Oi Vey
DVD’s are obsolete technology? sure about that - I'm not seeing that prediction so far.
  • this will have to be my reason for getting a blu-ray player...
  • Joseph Fritzl
i cant even tell whats happening in the one with batman on the cover.
    the background makes no sense.
the back of the box is also pretty awful.
  • carg0
    are you kidding?

is that what passes for 'box art' these days? my seven year-old niece could cook up something better than that in five minutes.
  • ALL I WANT IS THE BAT-POD REPLICA.

Well, the TWO discs would be like BONUSES.
  • ricky
i'm getting both for sure but I heard something about a steel case coming? Anything about that? The box art is a bit generic though.
  • spikeshinizle
Me no have Blu Ray player :(
  • StarBlazer101
Even the first Joker poster (the one drawn on the brick wall) would've looked better than this. How much is this gonna be? $50? The Batpod is just an excuse to make it more expensive.
  • Callum
    I want fll screen imax!
  • Jason
Yeah im not of fan of any of the covers. For the regular dvd, I think the trio movie poster with batman in the middle and the joker holding the card and two face in the shadow on either side would have been sweet
  • jack
their better be just a dvd version of the movie!
  • Wall•E Plays Pong
I think they should use the "Welcome to a world without rules" poster for the cover art. And even more than that, I would like an extended cut even if it meant only a few more minutes of footage that smoothed out the editing. That important..
  • Captain Awesome
To those who are wondering if there will be a DVD version. The last time I was told. There will be.

    Along with the Batpod ediition.
  • Indiefilm
I'm hoping Warner and Nolan double dip with The Dark Knight. A director commentary is worth the cash. The "theme" featurettes are a waste. Thy're better than nothing, but can't the studios make documentaries organized by pre, in production, and post production.

I'm not thrilled about a fifteen minute featurette called "Building A New Batsuit: The Creation of The Dark Knight". Why not out-takes, deleted/extended scenes, or candid footage of The Dark Knight. I'd be content with a commentary. Its sad to see a really amazing film is getting the average treatment on home video.
  • Though the prospect of buying a superior film like INDIANA JONES 4 is certainly more exciting, that BATMAN BD is awesome. I'll defintely buy it.
  • Ant
Why not a dedicated full length doc. i was hoping for a warts and all 2hour plus doc. not just footage in a small window
  • Nelace
Damn, for the Blu-ray to be coming out on Dec 9th...that's still a bit early in my opinion. That would've only giving that movie roughly 5 months in theaters.....too soon for a big movie like that.
  • E
I agree with indiefilm we need a director commentary that's the main reason I buy a blu-ray or dvd for the extras and commentary, and Nolan's tend to be pretty good. It would have been great to have both Nolan brothers on the commentary track talking about technical work and story insight. These extras feel rushed which the dvd production was and so we get the usual extras treatment for a more than usual film.
  • Looks like I'll be printing my own cover art for this one. I had to do that for Superman Returns, too. I couldn't stand not having the 'floating in space' painting as the cover art, and this TDK crap won't do either.

The article says "Warner Bros has finally officially announced the December 9th 2008 release of The Dark Knight on DVD and Blu-ray."

The DVD artwork is the same:

  • buhhhaj
give the batpod to me! :D
  • The Blu-Ray is pretty much the same and everything.
I'm personally getting the two-disc special DVD edition though, despite the fact I have a PS3 anyways.
it's cheaper and it's mostly the same without any HDMI settings or TV's.
    this movie is still bEASTTTTTTTTTTT.
