A lot of new posters have hit the web in the last 24 hours. Cinematical has the final US poster for Charlie Kaufman’s directorial debut Synecdoche, New York, which shows the life size replica of New York City that the main character builds in a warehouse. I think its cool but I actually prefer the international poster which featured Philip Seymour Hoffman in front of the tables of index cards. Ropes of Silicon has the poster for Bryan Singer’s WWII movie Valkyrie. It seems oddly stylistic, maybe because they are trying to appeal to younger audiences. The MPAA recently announced that the film is rated PG-13. A PG-13 Nazi movie?

ComingSoon has the final poster for Quantum of Solace, which seems kinda stock compared to the other two theatrical posters for the film which featured Daniel Craig walking down the street with his huge gun. And lastly there is the poster for Clint Eastwood’s Changeling. The one-sheet is even worse than the film’s title, who woulda thought?

Why does Valkarie look like Ocean's 11 and is Angelina Jolie going to eat that little kid?
  • Superman
The quantum of cheapness... What a bland poster. I hope the movie isn't as boring.

interesting how they used only half a swastika. of course they could never get away with showing a full one, especially when they market the movie abroad.

Synecdoche, New York wins for best poster of the group. Changeling and Solace are pretty bad (I agree with Ohiofile on Jolie's kid-eating threat). Not sure how I feel about Valkyrie, except that the more it's about killing Hitler, and the less it emphasizes Tom Cruise's starring role, the more interested I am.

I hope they show Hitler in all his Godliness!
  • BadWasabi
Changelling looks like if Angelina Jolie were playing Gargamel in a Smurfs movie.

Oh yeah and what's with the red stripe behind Tom Cruise's name? Looks like someone wants us to know that Tom Cruise is in a movie.
  • The poster background is a blueprint of Hitler's Wolf's Lair. The red stripe is the path Von Stauffenberg would take to the meeting room. You can see it ends at the bottom of the poster at a table surrounded by chairs. That is where Von Stauffenberg placed the briefcase bomb.

    haha gargamel = the shit

I don't mind the Valkyrie poster and, given the context Dave has provided, think it's actually pretty clever.

The Bond poster is the first strikeout for QofS. If you are going to feature a Bond female, pay some respect to the past and sauce it up little. Boring.

The giant floating Jolie head is definitely going to eat that kid like a little Pez.
