Exclusive: Kick Ass Set Photos

/Film reader Dan B sent in a photo from the Toronto set of Matthew Vaughn’s adaptation of Mark Millar’s Kick-Ass.

“Coming back from a Jays game happen to catch what appeared to be 2nd Unit for Kick-Ass. Didn’t see Matthew Vaughn on site. They seemed to be shooting the opening shots of the movie. The camera starts off facing the wrecked taxi and ends up on a close up of the license plate that reads ‘Kick-Ass’ Here are the shots taken with my Iphone.”

And here are some screenshots of the panels of the scene from the comic book:

    this actually looks really great.

not to be nitpicky or anything, but shouldn't thise scene take place at night with a huge crowd of people surrounding him, like in the comic?

i just think it'd have a bigger effect if 40+ onlookers saw this guy fall to his death like it did in the comic.
  • aj
wow. I'm excited! Kudos to the guy who snapped the pictures!
  • does it matter
For all we know Presto this could just be the team getting ready, with no extras yet. Well see

i think Vaughn is about to be as faithful to 'kick-ass', as Snyder was to 300, and Rodriguez was to sin city. good for him, f-ing great for us!

    @ presto

i got the book in my hands, and it isn't really clear if it's day or night because of the way the sky is colored/shaded. the only clue is one picture of a streetlight which is not on, therefore - daytime. yes, there isn't the same group of onlookers, but like does it matter said, this could be prep.
  • Fo' Sho! wurd
This is gonna be Kick-ass.... :D

I saw this today on my way to a Jays game (yes people go to them!!!) that taxi was blocked off somewhere but they kept doing takes of something falling from the building. Didn't see any actors there and they wouldn't let anyone get close enough to have a good look, but it did look like they had some extras in there for a 'crowd' to whoever was concerned about that.

Stills from movies are like single notes from a song.

I'm really excited that Vaughn seems to be keeping the costumes like they were in the comic...
  • lo
    Awesome
  • jomama
looks pretty "kick-ass" to me. too cliche?
  • WHAT?!?! how can they make a movie already when they only released 4 issues? Hollywood waste no time
