The /Filmcast: After Dark - Ep. 15 (GUEST: Myles McNutt)

The /Filmcast: After Dark is a recording of what happens right after The /Filmcast is over, when the kids have gone to bed and the guys feel free to speak whatever is on their minds. In other words, it’s the leftover and disorganized ramblings, mindfarts, and brain diarrhea from The /Filmcast, all in one convenient audio file. In this episode, Dave, Devindra, and Adam chat with Myles McNutt about the new Fall TV season, remember everyone’s favorite movie trailer voice actor, Don LaFontaine, and get into a heated debate over The Fountain.

Join us next Monday night at 10 PM EST / 7 PM PST as we review Bangkok Dangerous.

Whenever I saw The Fountain in theaters, several people walked out. Even a couple behind me said "what the f*ck!" and then left. But i tried to ignore it and did enjoy the film. I am ready for the Wrestler.
  • Ben
I really enjoyed The Fountain even though it definitely made me work for it. Give it another shot, Adam. Even if you don't necessarily like the movie, Jackman and Weisz's performances are worth a second viewing.

That description of the afterdark was very graphic. and kinda gross.
  • Dangerous Dave
I thought The Fountain was good. Probably the reason a lot of people disliked it was because they were expecting the space/south america parts to be literally what was happening. The whole movie's one big metaphor.
  • Fir3Wolf
I am a fan of Darren Aronofsky's work. I wanted to see this movie but never got a chance to, so I might check it out since it seems that if your a fan of his previous movies you might like this one as well.
  • Gary Oldman
I love the fountain. Thank you Vega Bro for bringing it up.
  • John
I still think this After Dark episode would have been funnier with the inclusion of the whole audio clip blunder surrounding the Don LaFontaine memoriam.
  • Loved the Fountain.. I always thought the bubble and tree represented his personal fear of Death. As he whispered to the tree / he was whispering to Izzi to hold on and he was going to save her. All the flash backs were torments of life cause he refused to let go. Only till he accepted Death, was he enlightened (.i.e Aztec warrior sees the father / enlightenment) then the Cosmos opened up to a new beginning.
