W. B-Roll Footage

Access Hollywood has a four minute behind the scenes look at Oliver Stone’s W. If you ever had a doubt that Josh Brolin wouldn’t be able to do George W, watch Brolin’s delivery of the speech early on in this clip. It’s amazing. Definitely a lot better than the professional George W. Bush impersonator that was in Harold and Kumar 2. There is also more footage of Elizabeth Banks, who looks unbelievably good as Laura Bush. Watch the video embedded above.

NBK was such a cool film done by Stone. There was so many things that were done right - the soundtrack, casting choices, use of animation, a perfect editing choices.

    So, what happened? W.?? W.??!
I don't know if Oliver Stone's talent was lost, but his creativity hit a wall a long time ago. The man needs a good story to tell beyond these true life dramas and biopics. Maybe it isn't in his nature. Somehow, I just feel like we've been cheated out of some great films that could have been.

I guess you never know when the creativity well is going to dry up for someone.

oh, ...and Brolin looks like he does well as Bush, but what a big mistake to follow up his performance in NCFOM with this.

It looks like Josh Brolin is going to get an oscar nomination, I just hope the film is as good as his performance, Also I think its kind of funny that his dad portrayed Reagan and now he,s playing Bush.

I'm unimpressed. Give me a team of makeup artists and I could do just as good of an impression.

Brolin was pretty damn good in that brief clip.
  • Well, Brolin definitely has the George Bush accent down, I'll give him that.
  • I'm definitely impressed. I know Brolin is a good actor, but I had no clue his performance as Bush would be that spot-on. Certainly seems like an Oscar nomination could be in store for him.

@ Brian take that crap over to AICN ok, i'm really not into this movie i think GW is a bad president period and he does not deserve any kind of movie to be made after him

What kind of twisted world do we live on where one of the most hated leaders is portrayed as a buffoon and the actor playing him is considered for the highest award in his field.

The perfect storm of Irony will be if this film comes out the day before Israel launches an attack against Iran, or another false flag attack happens in the US,,,,,

    bizzaroworld. I'm tellin ya.

Interesting how Stone's actors portray those in real life. In "Nixon", Anthony Hopkins wasn't imitating Nixon as much as trying to channel his character in the performance (didn't really look or sound like Nixon, but it didn't matter), and I can see that through the few snippets of Brolin's performance too, despite Brolin's tone of voice sounding strikingly similar to W's. I think if people are trying to see a dead on impersonation, they may be dissapointed. That type of acting is likely better for SNL skits and whatnot.

It's probably a bonus for a filmmaker who's doing a biopic like this, to have someone nail the importance of character on top of a good off-the-cuff similarity in voice or appearance.

he can definitely act the part, but he doesn't really look much like him.
