About them picking less-than-obscure music, it's not like Borders has lots to choose from in the "indie" area. At least not my local one.

I love Jason Schwartzman. And I have to agree, Groundhog Day is Classic! With a capital C!
  • lol. I was an employee at the corp office of borders. This was shot right before i started, but my co-worker is the guy walking around in the background of several shots. (blue shirt). But both of us are not with the company anymore. Boo Borders for laying off 200 corp employees. But yay, I found a better job.

But these were not the only artists that did the shopping. Although they are the only movie related ones, I think. If you go to bordersmedia.com, and go to the Live at 01 shows, most of the musicians and writers did this as well if you like this kind of thing.

I couldn't figure out if they were genuinely recommending shit, or doing it as a joke. It seemed like they were trying to improv and failing miserably, or else they were just really really high.
  • Boring. I agree with Jeffrey Garten.

If they ever need someone to play Wes Anderson in a movie my vote goes for Tilda Swinton.

2 white guys in Borders. weird.

Darjeeling was Anderson's best. he finally took it that one extra step. Not a huge step, but a step.

    i love borders.

what a bunch of boring music picks. you would expect them to recommend something obscure, and the only one i would consider to be considered that was the apples in stereo recommendation.

i disagree, i loved rushmore and darjeeling.
  • Schwartzman is overrated. None of his movies are funny, and he always comes off as sort of a prick...

I'm glad he pulled out One Hour Photo. Very underrated movie and was one of my very first favorite movies, after Silence of the Lambs.

Why in the world does he recommend Lady in the Water??
  • orange cinema
i can't quite figure out why that was fun to watch, but it really was. and also, they seemed to toe a very thin line between complete pretention, and humbleness - both are probably the latter.

borders is a dope ass store though.
