if there is anything the original Nightmare on Elm Street didnt have and desprately needed, it was high speed car chases, explosions, asteroids the size of texas, and giant f**king robots.

however, if they put as much heart into Nightmare on Elm Street as they are into the Friday the 13th movie, it will kick so much ass, it wont be funny.

I like to rip on Bay as much as anyone else, but that freeway chase scene (the one with the spinning boat and kitchen sink) from BB2 is solid entertainment.

Lame. Seriously, this joke is getting old. OMG, mikey bay is the only one to exploit explosions, fast cars, and sunsets in his movies!!! Did we all just sleep through the 80s/90s? Bay bashing has become more cliche than the man himself.

...yeah, I get it. 'I see what you did here.' BUT... You could do this with any old movie. You could also turn "Nightmare on Elm St" into an Apatow Comedy, a Quentin Tarrantino wordy 'homage' film, a Scorsese crime flick, a Peter Jackson fantasy epic. What was done here isn't hard to do people (or very original).

Some directors just have a distinctive style! Many people don't like Bay's but I for one do. He's a fantastic action director. He just shouldn't handle drama or historical period pieces... a la Pearl Harbor. Cut the guy some slack though, he's got a mad eye for visual thrills.

Be honest with yourself... isn't there a little pyromaniac in all of us at times???
