George Lucas is a huge Elvis fan. I am surprised he has yet to tackle Elvis head on, like in a biography.

Moreover, the "search for Elvis" is already on, and on so many levels, that a movie with Lucas at the helm could make a lot of sense.

Presley's death, a tragedy of gargantuan proportions because of what we know happened to him, but also because of the effect it had, on millions, made sure he became, in death, even more "present" than he was the last years of his life.

It doesn't matter if 10 million people in America can't stand the sight of him, since a much larger segment does and with a vengeance.

And let's not even start talking about how is he viewed worldwiide... Otherwise, why 16 million people would pay to see his grave, 50 percent coming from regions far, far from Memphis? And why woud editors, pretty serious people, if I may add, agree to be associated with, thus, far, the editing of 1,134 biographies, in print, detailing numerous periods of his life.

In fact, Presley is one of the rarest of celebrities whose life took him to places which Lucas could use, as a means to "finding him", with enough villains, like the East Germans and Russians who called Presley, in 1956, a tool of the US against communism?

And weren't Putin, the current Prime Minister, and Boris Yeltsin, the deceased President, some of Elvis' greatest fans? And how different these two were? Very different. Presley' appeal, cut across a set of fine divided lines, even in countries, or small regions.

He was mentioned by the current President of France, as an "universal icon", his witnesses none other than the members of a joint Session of the US Congress, less than 6 months ago.

And why is Grecalend the only private home, other than the White House, or any of the Presidential retreats, to have hosted a meeting between a Foreign Head of State, and the sitting President of the United States. It happened with Primer Minister Koizumi.

The search for Elvis can not be limited to the obvious, namely the idea that he faked his own death in 1977, or to the ever increasing number of Elvis impersonators, or his recurring presence, whenever someone does something only he did, or to the breaking of his records, in the charts, in the number of US postage stamps which were sold, or in the typical, "bigger than Elvis", "as big as Elvis", "the new Elvis", as well as all the referencing he gets, like in the "Elvis of this", or "the Elvis of that"

The search for Elvis ( his spirit), is on, precisely because he continues to be controversial, hated, villified, inspite of a much larger fan base that defends him.

The number of ideas one could concoct, in regards to this "search", is staggering, and Lucas knows it...

So, don't be surprised, and don't be pompous to discard him (Lucas), because he chose a subject (Presley), you don't appreciate, or even like. He was, anc continues to be liked by numbers that keep growing, and that's a fact.

Holy crap. First ... you say you hate it when Lucas writes the Mutt character into the story (probably the part of "Crystal Skull" that worked best, frankly) ... now you give him grief when he says Mutt wouldn't continue.

The Elvis title was a JOKE, for crying out loud. Grow a backbone.

Yeah, Lucas's creativity has been wasted. He finally gives you an Indiana Jones movie and it doesn't make you have an orgasm (probably due to the DIRECTOR, Steven Spielberg, who put in those prairie dogs) and you cry that you've been raped and plundered and your childhood is ruined.

Aw, go put in your DVDs of "Raiders" and "Star Wars" and pine away for the rest of your life. George rightly has better things to do, things that give him and (apparently) millions of people pleasure. Did you realize that, even WITH "Dark Knight," "Crystal Skull" remains the BIGGEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR worldwide? Someone liked it.

And some of us still like to simply be entertained.

Is there anything left from our Childhoods for George Lucas to kill? Perhaps he could travel back to the moment each and everyone of us touched a girl for the first time (ok the fair few of us) and digitally alter it so the girl touched us first and we only touched back in defense then, that was it, and we keep in touch via email but have never seen each other again. But a few of us remember how it really was...

Seriously though someone needs to stop him before he molests everything that people love. People need to do anything, and I fucking mean "anything" to stop this crazed fuck. What ever it takes I'm up for it.

Do it for the children, just think of the children. Imagine if you will a brighter future where children don't have to be afraid of uncle Georgie's neck sack trying to molest their tiny little movie cornholes.

So please rise up and stop this mother fucker, and I guarantee whoever does it will become an international hero, it'll be like the opposite of Oswald shooting Kennedy.

Lucas here's an idea...instead of dragging out the Indiana Jones series and making animated "between star wars episodes" movies, how about you get a new idea?

I think he obtained that. Unless you're like 5, modern should include at least the 80's. Purty sure he was cinematically kicking ass and taking names during that period.
