The writer captured the spirit of those characters, came up with some genuinely funny one-liners and just seemed to be a fan of the original film. The reviews that bash the guy really bug me, because it's so obviously not his fault, especially when the ridiculous producers at Warner Premier think what the fans want is "Jackass meets Lost Boys meets surfing" or however they described the take on the film. I'm not sure what idiot they cornered to illicit that response, but no one I've ever talked with about the movie said anything that hideously stupid. I'm still really looking forward to the 4th comic, and I'm sure I'll enjoy the third movie if they just pop in The Coreys and Jamison Newlander as main characters, and don't meddle with the talent involved so much. (Honestly, I'm sure the conversation went something to the effect of "We really like your idea, but could you have the vampires drop the f-bomb more, include fewer of the original characters so as not to confuse the "new target audience" and make them surf like Keanu in Point Break?")
