Morgan Freeman Hospitalized After Car Accident

CNN and the AP are reporting that Morgan Freeman was in a car accident in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi on Sunday night. Freeman was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where he is in serious condition. Reports from the scene of the accident indicate that Freeman was talking as he was removed from the scene; according to one local journalist,

They had to use the jaws of life to extract him from the vehicle. He was lucid, conscious. He was talking, joking with some of the rescue workers at one point.

This summer, Freeman can be seen in The Dark Knight and Wanted. To Mr. Freeman and his family from the /Film community: Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

    I had the opportunity to work for a company co-founded by Mr. Freeman and I can honestly say that I've rarely met anyone with the class and kindness of him. We didn't see him around the office much (I hear he's got this other career as an actor) but when he did stop in, he gracious and kind to everyone.

    Man I really hope they don't spin a "Dark Knight Curse". Morgan Freeman is an example of the old guard of actors that are sadly reaching thier final credits. He is a man that can make you laugh and then tear up in the matter of moments. I truely pray he has a speedy recovery and blesses us with his trade for years to come.

    I just caught "Car Accident" and saw the picture of Freeman and I went nuts. I assumed the worst, but then I read the ENTIRE headline and article. I hope that it's not that serious and he gets well soon. Such a great actor.

    you gotta see unforgiven, shawshank, million $ baby, nurse betty, among many others to really see freeman's mastery of the craft. i love TDK & BB as much as anyone here, but they are far from the best representations of his career. (i havent seen bucket list yet, but i can imagine it's really not his best work)

    do yourself the favor of checking out those films i mentioned, you won't be disappointed!

    I just seen a news report saying that he is expected to make a full recovery. He broke his arm and elbow and has some shoulder damage, he had an operation this afternoon and another is schedualed for tomorrow.
