Trivia: John McCain was in Wedding Crashers!?

Did you know that the republican presidential candidate actually had an uncredited cameo role in the R-rated comedy Wedding Crashers. I’m guessing that like myself, many of you probably never even noticed. Watch the clip after the jump.

Does this give John McCain more street cred? Probably not… Some might also remember that McCain had a cameo appearance in a 2006 episode of 24. Thanks to the good folks at Movie Moron for pointing this out!

No one has the right to bash anyone who has served in the U.S. Military; most people don't have half the courage it takes to even make it through boot camp. I thought it was funny that McCain called Obama a "movie star," but the fact is that Obama never ASKED for move star status. My guess (not saying for sure) is that McCain, or one of his party, ASKED to be in these cameos. Using entertainment media as a political medium is a common campaign strategy, and one that only makes sense; but to assault a politician because of it in a smear campaign is the essence of what is wrong with politics and with America.

And might I remind everyone that regardless of the cicumstances, a military veteran does NOT necessarily mean a successful president; if you took up that issue, then George Bush is technically a good President. Chew on that for a bit.

Obama for President, it's the only sensible choice in the upcoming election.

yes i will change my vote to mcain immediately. lol

I love how all the political debates that go on in here only concern the two candidates that are exactly the same. McCain and Obama are both the same person because it doesn't matter which of them gets elected because the same companies are going to continue to get rich and neglect the American people who these men are supposed to have as their top priority. "Democrats" think that if Obama gets elected he'll throw America over his shoulder and carry us to safety. And all "Republicans" can come up with is that Obama must be a terrorist, because after all anyone with any drop of Middle Eastern descent is obviously a terrorist. Wake up. Both candidates are horrible choices for America, and the only way to save our beautiful country is for us to all educate ourselves and stop listening to what FOXNews or CNN tells us are the true issues, and start focusing on what has been the basis of our existence in this experiment known as freedom, the Constitution.

That being said...Christopher Walken '12. He's the cock'a'da walk baby!

Street Cred? And, feel bad for the guy because of his POW time? He has never been dramatic in recent times about his time as a POW. It's never really been an issue. But, he's still bat shit crazy.

Also, his SNL hosting was hilarious. He was great on Wake Up Wakefield as the stoner teacher. Steely-Dan-O'Lanterns, parking his van in the vice principles parking spot, wearing tie-dye. Still doesn't make him worthy of president though.
  • the joker
    hahah thank you OK

and accaully, yes he is a war hero no matter what way you try to spin it dumbass
  • Pete (original)
mccain was one of the better hosts of snl a few years back. just sayin, that was a pretty good episode.
  • ok
I'll take a guy who was beaten for nearly 6 years for my freedom, over a guy who sits in a church for 20 years, claims to not know what was going on (pretty ignorant for top of his class) listening to racist b.s. anyday.

Please just because McCain was solider and came near his death, does not mean he is an American hero. That also doesn't give him more creditability to be the leader of the free world. Obama is smart, top of his class, and a law teacher. McCain was in the military. Is McCain better then Bush; yes. But that like saying being pissed on is better the being shit on.
  • Kestrel
yay election year partisanship. . . . Peter, did you really just figure this out? It was in a lot of news stories about Sen. Lahey and Batman etc. What do you think of politicians being in movies? I know one thing, if I had that kind of power, that would be the first thing i'd do. . . . . er. besides serving the country etc. . . .
  • Haha
McCain was considered for Kerry's VP, he is more democrat than republican, but he is the best America has over the other guy.
  • reason
    dirt bags?

sorry, what makes you better than me ?

    big talk donkey punch

too bad thats all you are
  • Donkey Punch
The same dirt bags who get defensive about McCain's record are the same slime that attacked John Kerry and the same fools who voted in that chickenhawk Bush.
  • So What?
Come on people, McCain is not the ‘movie star’ of the movie. The McCain ad was referring to the people treating Obama like a ‘ movie star’ as if he is this A list actor. McCain is not being treated like an A list actor in this movie, he’s there for like a minute. In the ad, Obama should not have been compared to Moses because Moses would be a better president than he, but I understand the point the ad was trying to make. Take a joke people, and move on.

Definitely noticed that the very first time I saw it.

Also, "republican" is spelled with a big "R"...

    who cares about punctuation

your still dumb with it or without it
  • Dave
An I am a douche bag who can;t use proper punctuation.
  • Dave
McCain hates America. He is crazy. He is a bumbiling old fool who can't keep his Muslims straight when talking about Iraq. He used to be the man when he went against Bush. Now he's just a fucking coward who can;t lift his arms over his head.
  • Joe
Seriously, fuck you all. Mocking a man who was captured and a prisoner of a foreign country for 6 years? That's despicable.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves. People would make fun of Obama, but they'd immediately be labeled racists.
  • the joker
yeah and i would totally bang his wife
  • the joker
    trinity

wouldn't you lie about them? i would, after extreme torture, having a breaking point and making videos against my will, you cant blame someone for having a breaking point,

and how dare you call him out on an incorrect ejections, are you a pilot? were you in that moment of near death falling from the sky, my guess is trinity you never were a solider of any sort, you never been through any extreme situation, your just talking out of your ass ... pilot is a hard job ...you could make any of 10000s of mistakes even with years and years of training ... you using that to try to bring down john mccain is pathetic

even if he was treated BETTER than others, doesn't mean he wasn't a POW.. he was still tortured still there for many years.. he still served this country above and beyond someone like oboma.

also when you read ALL THE FACTS ,,and not spit on half truths like your whole statement , it might HELP us all

    fucking canadians
  • mime
that all sounds like complete bullshit trinity
  • Nice to see that his wooden delivery isn't contained to his stump speeches. So does he have a part in AMERICAN CAROL, too?
  • Trinity
actually @NICK - his injuries (2 broken arms, 1 broken leg) were sustained when he ejected from his plane INCORRECTLY despite his training, so YOU might want to check your facts first.

also, he actually was a collaborator. other men who were in the same place as he was noted that he was always freshly shaved, and wore clean clothes, and was housed in much nicer conditions than they.

and then there were all the anti-America videos he made. he later lied about both the offer to free him because he was an Admiral's son and grandson, as well as an offer to promote him to Admiral. another lie he tells right now is that Veteran's groups support him. They don't.

not saying what any of us might have done during capture, but he's hardly a 'war hero'. and he just can't stop lying even today either. by the way, i'm a Canadian, so it's not like i even will be voting in your election. these facts are available to anyone who bothers to check and not just accept the constructed mythology.
  • John
Dude its because he was in the gunners chair in a bomber so that is why he is like that plus his wife is freaking hot for a old lady.
  • A.J.
I knew I was right! I knew I saw him in it, and my g/f was like "Uh-Uh! that's not him!" Bitch.
  • Dr_Gonzo
McCain also had an uncredited role as The Gimp in Pulp Fiction.

    Didn't know that did ya?
  • Captain Awesome
I know why his arms are short. Never trust midget limbs.

    Just like a Carnies hands.
  • Nick
He can't lift his arms over his head.
  • Nick
Captain Awesome: His "midget limbs" are a result of injuries sustained in a POW camp in Vietnam (he was there for 6 years, two of which were in solitary confinement.)

I'm not a McCain supporter by any stretch, but you might want to think before mocking a veteran's injuries.
  • Captain Awesome
John McCain has small T-Rex arms. You don't trust a politician with midget limbs.
  • The Joker
    street cred?
the only person he needs any credit to be president is oboma ,period.
  • 2lapper
That's funny. I definitely remember McCain's ugly mug in the Wedding Crashers. But I watched it again and for the first time I noticed that Bill Bradley and Lyndon LaRouche also had cameos!!! Who? Exactly.
  • TheDaftPunk
I didn't want to be the first one to connect this to The Dark Knight, so I have to thank Eric for doing that for me. But for some reason, when I saw Rachel McAdams in this clip, I immediately thought of Harvey Dent's garbled "RAAACHEL!!!! RAAACHEEELLLLL!!!"
  • Guest
Yes, I did know, as I suspect would a lot of other folks; it was a minor news story in July of 05 after Drudge picked up on it, Jay Leno even berated McCain about the subject when McCain appeared on his show during that month. Since then, it has largely been used in pejorative context.

(James Carville is also in the scene as well, does he not merit a shout out?)
  • Eric
DON'T forget the Senator in The Dark Knight too you know
  • Russel
Yeah, I remember that McCain did a number of things like this after he lost the Republican nom to push eight years ago, and everyone assumed he was done with that level of politics. He also hosted an SNL, right?
  • GregoryV
    Those slippery Republicans!
  • KeanE
Lol...I remember seeing that and thinking if that old white dude looked familiar to me...hell yeah! McCain!
