We cannot allow this to happen. I have had it with hollywood taking every great piece of work and ruining it for the sake of making money. How many times have they done this? How long will they keep on doing this? I don't know how about you, but I have had enough. For too long we have allowed them to get away with this. It is time for us to take a stand. We, as fans, need to stop this from happening. Enough is enough, it's time for a change.

I love Cowboy Bebop, it is the best anime ever produced. I even named my car the Swordfish. Get Chris Nolan to direct and Christian Bale as Spike ( look at "I'm Not There" he has the Spike look to him) I know, your thinking What about Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and the Prestige all great films. If anyone can pull it off, it's one of, or both of these men. by the way i don't like Keanue. there I said it.

This should stay as an anime. Just make another animated film. Please no! Though this may just be a rumor, it's still horrifying. Keanu Reeves? NO. Another animated film with the original vocal cast? YES!

i can see this becoming a live action movie ( not dragon ball z or akira ) but i agree keanu reeves cant be spike there is just no way.

I have a real problem with them making a live action movie of this at all.

Keanu is good at what he does, but I just don’t know. And isn’t he a little *old* to play Spike? Spike’s 27. Keanu’s near mid-40s.

I fear for who they’ll pick to play Edward.

I dunno if they really do make a live-action, which i think they are, casting has to be perfect. So I do have second thoughts on Keanu. Anyway hope they have a good director and scriptwriter…..

I’m on the fence about all these animes being made into live action films.

Dragonball is bound to fail as badly if not worse than Speed Racer because (From what I’ve seen) they’ve strayed so far from the original source material (Humor topped off with over the top violence and ridiculous super powers) and made it into shlock about some faggy high school kid who has super powers… They’ve effectively destroyed Dragonball.

I could see Cowboy bebop working beautifully if they stick to the original concept and atmosphere (slow methodically drawn out film noir-esque story punctuated with intense action sequences tied together with a brilliant soundtrack to create a unique experience) It was truly genre-defining.

I don’t even want to picture the massacres that will occur with AKIRA, EVANGELION, and GHOST IN THE SHELL. I predict horribly shoddy scripts and poorly executed casting choices tied together with directors who couldn’t give two shits about the source material.

Even if Keanu pulled some acting skills out of his ass, he feels really really wrong for the part. He reminds me of a robot & even if Spike doesn’t show a lot of emotion all the time, he DOESN’T feel like a robot.

If they start putting out posters that look like this Dragonball shit, forget it, I won’t even see if with my tremendous love of Bebop.

Keanu is no Spike - c’mon.

Spike is in his mid-20’s in the series anyway - Keanu is like 45.

If they cast Keanu, they might as well cast Dakota Fanning as Faith - cuz that makes about the same amount of sense - and then ditch the entire badass soundtrack and replace it with Nickelback playing Pan flutes out of their assholes.

And Joseph Gordon Levitt?
Spike should probably be played by someone who can grow ball-hair - even Shia Lebouf thinks that guys a puss.

If anyone has ever seen Sharkskin Man Peach-Hip Girl, Tadanabu Asano plays a mean Spike-like character…

just throwing this out there: daniel radcliffe.
