I'm a huge fan of Monsters Inc. I would really love a Monsters Inc. 2, but it has to have a really great story line. The ending of the first movie was too good to follow up with the disapointment of a really bad sequel. I would also have to agree with throwing the idea of Cars 2 in the can.

Yeah I loved (Monsters Inc) as each time I watch it I loved the Enviroment of the Storyline and the colours where so 3-D brightly good each time So i'd Fancy a Monsters inc II. The Incredibles II as the end had an underminer.

Taking Monster INC in mind, I personally think it deserves a sequel, as for cars? Nah not at all, and The Incredibles definitely

Pixar movies kick ass sometimes. i believe toy story 2 is the only sequel that pixar has done and i thougth it was good. was not a fan of cars or monster inc so they can make as many sequels as they want, its not like i be rushing to the theatres to see any of them except for toy story 3. woody and buzz kick ass.

When Toy Story 2 was announced, I had a sinking feeling, but I thought the sequel was twice as good as the original Toy Story. However, I am a little unnerved at what I perceive as Disney's influence on Pixar (sequel talk). But as some people have said earlier, developing does not mean production and as long as Pixar is intent on holding production until the right story comes along, I'll reserve my judgment until the movies come out. I'm worried more about Austin Powers 4, frankly.

What Winsjon said is correct, the article should be changed because the context makes it moot. Shrek sequels were announced before they had any real scripts. Pixar has only said they are "developing", without release dates, Cars 2 and Monsters Inc. 2. If the stories aren't great, they won't make it. I really think Cars will end up being a television series, he may have too many ideas, and if they are looking for a "profit" a TV series would generate more characters. If a Pixar movie can produce an SDCC Toy exclusive, they are looking for more Cars content.

Isn't this old news?

What happened way back in the day when they started with Disney --before they wanted out-- Disney made sure that the deal they had with Pixar was that they could ask for as many sequels as they wanted with the projects they had made with/under the Disney name.

During the Split scare:
When Pixar was searching for takers, they grew concerned with the fact that their past films were already opted for sequels by Disney and Pixar didn't want to have their name on any of the sequels. During that time in the Disney/Pixar split, the "word on the street" was that Disney was going to make "straight-to-DVD" sequels" of the Pixar movies.

There were articles on this all over the place when Cars was already in production.
