I was just thinking how strongly I was reminded of GWB's explanations of his policies throughout the movie , and then I typed "the dark knight -George W Bush" into yahoo search and voila someone else already noticed it !! hehehe

The impeachment process is possible and/or can be used for criminal prosecution even after George W. Bush leaves office—giving the American people a sense of hope. Even though impeachment while Bush is in office does not seem likely due to the complicity of Congress relative to the illegitimate Iraq War, Kucinich’s efforts relative to impeachment and the efforts of hundreds of Americans relative to impeachment are not wasteful collectively. For example, such efforts are beneficial in that (1) legitimate accusations made in the course of Bush’s presidency appropriately and importantly inform the American people and the world of Bush’s abuses of power, corruption, and dishonesty; and (2) legitimate accusations, for example, in Dennis Kucinich’s excellent book, “The 35 Articles of Impeachment and the Case for Prosecuting George W. Bush,” may contribute to some impeachment and/or punitive process against Bush after he leaves office.

Dennis Kucinich is my role model. Kucinich is simply the best. Congressman Kucinich has, in any case, done invaluable, noble, and exemplary work in pushing for impeachment so vigorously and single-mindedly.

The problem that I see with this article and most responses is that no one wants to use what is called reason or logic. They just us personal attacks that have nothing to do with reality. If you want me to get partisan here, liberals will grasp at straw to use some argument to make themselves feel better regardless of facts. Simple or not, if one equates Batman vs the current ‘war on terror” how many people would disagree that Batman is doing the right thing? Put it into a larger context against trying to find possible people who want to make another 9-11 style attack and an issue is created. These are the same people who take fore granted the freedom of being an American and being able to dissent against the government. The answer none can answer yes to is if they would be able to tell Saddam Hussein to his face or Fidel Castro or Kim Jong Ill how terrible of a person they were and would be able to live more than two months. Many of these people probably believe Lew Harvy Oswald didn’t kill JFK either. It is probably a stretch to believe Nolan was going to make this a parallel to the War on Terror but it is funny to realize how accurate he is when people ignore partisan rhetoric and think of people as doing right for rights’ sake.

The problem with putting bush on a pedestal hanson is that he doesn’t have to fight for anything. As president he pretty much gets what he wants even with the liberal congress. I can understand standing by your party to a degree but I’ll never understand any defense of bush.

And for all you little sheep following your political parties, its so damn easy to critzise and blindly hate somebody who had the balls to take a stand isn’t it? You all know you wouldn’t want to make any of the decisions Bush makes. If you did you would be hated by somebody. And truly ask yourself if you could stand that hatred. And maby then you will finally respect what it means to be a man who fights for what he believes in.

I couldn’t help but see SOME connections between Batman and George Bush, but the movie quickly refuted any potential arguments that could be made for this connection to be legitimate. If anything Batman ended up being an anti-Bush, in fact, by the end of the film, he was close to being a badass Mother Teresa (not that Mother Teresa wasn’t badass).

Hey Joe, what I cant get around is the 17 other nations that corrobarated with President Bush that Saddam has weapons of mass destruction. These were countries that hated us, including France and Russia. We also know that IRaq kicked out weapons inspecot Hans Blixk and IAE and refused to grant them access to the countires alleged nuclear facilites. Bush will not be prosecuted for murder any more than Lyndon Johnson was for Invading Vietnam. What exactly would the charges be?

However, I think it is difficult to say that Kucinich is doing anything other than a political stunt, because his own party leaders have delcared it to be a waste of time. But even if he is sincere, there is no chance of an impeachment process proceeding, as my previous post demonstrates.

The idea that Iraq is only a threat if we attack is interesting. However, why did Saddam not allow full access to the weapons inspectors?

I’ve heard the same thing Joker, but when challenged in court they’ve always claimed they don’t have to show ‘it.’
I’m no constitutionalist, but I believe the Prez being the CiC can call troops to battle but cannot declare war without congress. Not much difference and congress has not declared war since ww2 (correct me if I’m wrong.)
