peter's comments about 'not getting twilight' are dead accurate. it's like country music: i totally understand why people like it, even though it sucks, but this whole twilight thing doesn't make sense.

also i'd like to at least hear from one HONEST twilight fan, who will have the balls to admit that even thought they love this series, that the footage is truly laughable. star wars fans have had to bite the bullet, now it's their turn.

But yeah I agree about Twilight, I just dont understand the hysteria. I just want someone to explain this to me because Im lost for words. I really dont see this movie doing good besides the first week when the theaters will be crowded with crazy fans. I feel sorry for whoever has to cover this movie on /film, even though I hope its Peter and he takes Alex with him lol.

definitely not for everyone and that's cool. I mean the target audience is what 12-18yrs? Then you have a number of women and some guys who are outside of that demographic and also enjoy the books. Honestly, I didn't think I would enjoy the books as much as I have and it's been a lot of fun reading them with my daughter. We discuss our favorite parts and laugh at silly parodies on youtube. She and I are extremely close, but it's been a good bonding experience.

I will say it is completely embarrassing the way the rabid fans behave. I cannot believe the behavior and the ascinine questions they ask. What makes them think it's okay to ask such personal questions? It's insane. If my daughter ever behaved like those girls I think I would ground her, and the mothers who act the same -- good lord--I don't have words. The crazy older women must not have much of life outside the home and their kids.

@Orange Cinema - I'm pretty close to the source material, so I do have a difficult time judging the footage I've seen of the movie; however I do agree that the quality looks made for TV or direct to DVD. I also pretty much hate the wire work I've seen so far and can only hope it'll look better when all is said and done. I'm not expecting a colossal movie and I don't think too many non-fans will go see it.
Oh and I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan and it was very difficult watching
the prequels at times, but even I found some good within the mess.

I believe Devin is almost through his transitional phase of becoming Peter Jackson's twin.

Alex is my poor mans Pulp Fiction. Story telling at it's finest.

Peter is dead on with Twilight. Although, I think this might get beaten to death until the release. These poor fans. It's almost like a person on drugs. They are completely obsessed with the characters to the point that they have no idea how to act/react in regards to the movie actors.

Overall, it sounds like some exciting stuff has taken place there. But, it also seems like the day didn't go as planned and nothing knocked you out of your seat. Let's see what Friday brings, and hopefully I don't get trampled this weekend.

since it is 'comic-con', i'm wondering how much focus is actually on comics this year. it really seems like it's moving towards 'movie-con', especially with stuff like rocknrolla & dexter & twilight - none of which have anything to do with comics, and that's only a few i've mentioned. i'm not complaining at all, i'm just curious where the majority of the focus is leaning.

I've read the Twilight books and I agree with Peter about not understanding the hype around it. But I must admit that Adam is right. Among all of your guys' sexist comments, Adam had the main explanation to why this is so popular. It isn't just because of "hott" actors... it is because they are portraying "hot" vampires.

I completely agree with Peter. I dont get the Twighlight thing and I'm really creeped out by the fans.

I really don't get the Twilight fans either... But that's how little girls are. I can understand the behavior of a 12 year old in this situation, but a 50 year old??? It saddens me to think that our society has produced grown woman who for all intents and purposes still have the intelligence and maturity of a 12 year old. It makes us woman look bad! Some of us can keep fantasy and reality separate (mmmm... Ewan..)

It's unfortuante, but it seems that Comic Con is turning into the new E3.
