At the Joss Whedon Dr. Horrible Comic Con panel, Jed Whedon confirmed that there are vague plans in place for a Dr. Horrible sequel. When asked about the posssibility of a next part to the series, Whedon said:

The idea is that there will be another part, so we’re not going to tell you about it yet.

Whedon also went on to discuss the Dr. Horrible DVD:

There is some excitement about a DVD possibility…You’ve probably heard about “Commentary: The Musical”…there are songs written for it. We are also going to have a little contest. We are going to take video submissions for the Evil League of Evil. No longer than 3 minutes, like you’re applying to be on Survivor of something. We’ll put the 10 best ones on the DVD. That’s something we’re going to do after the soundtrack etc.

Some more details: according to Joss, the soundtrack to Dr. Horrible should be available for download within a couple of weeks. In addition, Nathan Fillion revealed that a special website was designed so that Dr. Horrible could use his iPhone as a remote control during the series. In order to convert your iphone into that same remote control, all you have to do is go to: http://thesoftwire.com/horrible_remote.html

This is some good news. I'm not much of a musical person bar Once, but i thought Dr Horrible was a fun and innovative idea which managed to stay quirky and even serious

If u liked this & "Once More, with Feeling" I suggest u check out "Cannibal, The Musical" which I suspect was partly inspirational

Wow I'm definitely happy to hear that. The only thing that makes me sad is they said the soundtrack won't be out until a few weeks which means the DVDs are even further away.

In another interview Joss Whedon said the DVD will definitely be out before Christmas, but didn't indicate how soon before then... hope it's not too long! http://doctorhorrible.net/itunes-update

    Awesome! I loved Dr. Horrible.

Dr. Horrible's in-movie remote was better. First, it was designed to fit the screen correctly, which this link doesn't. Second, it didn't redirect his iPhone to a website for a crappy sci-fi RPG game when he clicked the gas. I don't believe this is anything but a publicity stunt by another company, not the real Dr. Horrible remote.

    Yes, I'm sad!

Brandon, the remote that you've seen posted all over the internet, the same one linked to on the Official Fan Site for Dr Horrible http://doctorhorrible.net/dr-horribles-remote-c... IS the very one used in the filming of Dr Horrible - seriously, the guy who designed it is a friend of Nathan Fillion. The "crappy sci-fi RPG" you refer to is actually based on the friend & author's (PJ Haarsma) novel series "The Softwire" it's actually really good stuff - you should grab a copy and read it. This can all be verified by the fact that Nathan Fillion himself gave out the URL from his friend's Horrible Remote design :) If you do a search for PJ Haarsma you'll probably also come up with a bunch of websites relating to a project Nathan Fillion & he founded called Kids Need to Read

  • Great, A cash-in on Dr. Horrible's dastardly DVD. How much are they gonna charge for this one? 15$ for a 30 minute show probably? Did I miss the part where the show wouldn't bore me?
  • duca
@Gorman - You are a douche. How can they cash in on something that was originally free? This was awesome and I don't think you have a right to accuse them of cashing in when they are providing what their fans have asked for. I for one will happily spend my $15 to own this. God knows I've spent more on worse.
  • Tal
NOt only that, but why SHOULDN'T they get paid for doing their job? Why do people expect people in the entertainment industry to work for free?
  • Blibblobblib
This bugs me. Dr Horrible isnt availble in the UK at all. When will us Brits be able to watch it?!
  • Tal
Blibblobblib - It was available in the UK when it was up for free airing the first time around - many people in the UK were able to watch it, and the good news is, it's available to watch online for free again - see www.doctorhorrible.net for details.

Any Dr. Horrible continuation should include collaboration with Jonathan Coulton.
