Are you serious? I figured Ratner had stopped directing altogether. The fact he is still employed by any studio, just goes to show they care little about the actual movie itself, as long as it makes a profit. All this guy does is ruin movies. My dog could do a better job at directing than Ratner.

Thankfully the story for God of War is pretty poorly conceived (I'm big on mythology) and Brett Ratner would just be making a bad movie from a bad story. Nothing against the game itself, but a good story it is not.

Also I can't imagine a big box office cashin with this movie. The fact that Kratos is frankly a douchebag won't help in getting the ladies into the theater, unlike say Clash of the Titans. Expect a flop like Troy... maybe worse.

I'm pretty sure Troy wasn't a flop. Maybe it was domestically but it made huge numbers overseas. Anyway I wasn't expecting much from this anyway. The games are great, but I don't think they can do much as movies.

People who think videogames make good movies obviously have never played them or are nuts. Unless they're doing something really loose like the Sims (i heard they're doing that), it will NEVER work. People only go to see those movies to see how crappy they are.

my roommate sank about 1000 dollars into an xbox360 - 2 controllers, 14 games, Live account and a couple hundred dollars to keep getting it fixed. I know ONE person with a 360 who hasn't had to send it back to get fixed. My roommate just sold back all his xbox stuff to gamestop for 186.00!!! Oh, and did i mention this is after he sent if back 5 TIMES (the first three were free, the last two cost him 100 bucks). And he decided rather than to send it back a 6th time, to just be done with it and put his 186 bucks towards a PS3 b/c the don't break. Screw microsoft, screw the 360, PS3 rules.

This is bad news...I'm a hardcore god of war fan since it launched on the ps2, for a game that is so epic and brutal, I'd put my money on Tarsem to direct this one. He's got a unique visual style and is one of the most brilliant film directors right now.
If only it was so easy to convince the studio bosses.
