UPDATE: Apparently raising your voice against your mum in the UK is against the law. The charge was “verbal assault.”
Yes, he’s already out on b-a-i-l. Earlier today, London police arrested Christian Bale, not to be confused with Adam West, and held him for questioning after his mum and one of his elder sisters made allegations of assault. The charges hit news outlets yesterday, but police apparently backed off and let Bale attend last night’s London premiere of his film, The Dark Knight.
The case will resume in September, unless charges escalate. Bale denies all charges. If R. Kelly can get off using the Little Man defense, we think Bale will be fine, but domestic charges like these are nothing to jest about. The actor has not released a public statement. More as it develops.

I dont think he is that angry about the movie though, his part really wasnt that big compared to the others. most of the time he was doing action sequences-its pretty tough to deliver hard hitting dialogue while hanging for dear life on the back of the batpod. so he couldnt have been expecting a horde of buzz around him. Even though he was great.

For the record, in the UK, you are arrested first and then questioned. Just if an allegation has been made. Even if it’s only on someone’s word and there is no shred of evidence.
And secondly, the term for assault is quite vague over there. If you yell obscenities or say words with the intent to harm or cause alarm you can be charged with “assault”.

Apparently, the most physical thing that happened was a brush up or a slight push as Christian was trying to get into his hotel room (I believe his mom and sister were in the way of the door and were annoying him). Some verbal exchanges probably as well, but no hitting. Then, his mom and sister, even in his time of fame and success, go and report him to the police over nothing like this. Sounds to me like Christian is the victim here.

Christian Bale was not charged. I think they wanted money or something. Then He got bad and yelled or told them to leave, so they(mom and sister) got mad and called the cops. He did go there by appointment. He also has no history of violence. I believe he is innocent

well this is surprising, like many of you I have never heard anything bad about Christian Bale. But then again I’ve never anything bad about the Shai Lebouf guy (transformers) either.
It seems kinda ironic though that both these guys get into a lil trouble with the law after short periods of incredible success.
